Im also communicating with them as I aws shopping for an elite. How much deposit (did you use credit card) and did they require you to fill paper work out (credit application) for them to commit to ordering your vehicle?

How do you like the body molding and is it easy to install? I have the splash guards on the way and have been considering the body molding, but I am not sure if I would like it or not without having seen it in person. I am assuming it is just adhesive to stick it on? Just wondering if it is easy to get it straight and positioned exactly where it should be.

I worked with the internet sales staff at Weymouth. Initially, they seemes a little wishy washy about refunding the deposit but I was able to get them to put in writing that the deposit is refundable if I do not take delivery.

I paid with a credit card - $500 and they did not have me fill out any forms.

Its still my plan B as I hope prices drop locally so I don't have to arrange for shipping and buy a car I can't physically see beforehand but I need it by Feb and with the limited supply of Elites I don't think its a bad option. Hope that helps.

Britm3, what was your total buying experience with Weymouth?

I am buying a Touring Elite and so far my quote is consistent with what everyone else has received for an Elite, but no one has posted that they've actually purchased from Weymouth. I'm ready to take the plunge, but I'm a little cautious because another dealership told me they didn't get good vibes when they questioned how Weymouth was able to quote the prices they do.

Are the prices really what was quoted or did they stick you with other fees right before you signed or right before you took delivery? If they ordered you a car, was it on time with the timeframe they quoted you or was it late? Any other observations.
  • mryomryo Member Posts: 2
Thanks so much for your resposne. One other thing, what time frame did they mention? I too was looking for an Elite, and Weymouth prices were the most competitive. They said I was looking at a January time frame.

HI danielcar2, I went thru a broker, I did alot of research and went thru 4 dealers before I made my purchase. forward me your e-mail address, I will gladly give you his info.

I just obtained a quote for an Elite from Weymouth yesterday and they said delivery around end of Jan/early Feb.

I would be interested in knowing the experience of anyone who has actually gone through the whole buying process with Weymouth. Did Weymouth honor their quote? Any surprise fees, etc? Delivery as stated? Any other observations?

I have to order out of state, too so I don't want anything to go wrong. It's not so easy to just walk into the dealership if there are any issues.

I think the side molding helps the looks, but I would have added it regardless for the protection. It is plastic and it just sticks on. It comes with good instructions, which you can find and read online beforehand at the site where you plan to buy. It comes with a template that ensures that it will be level and in the place where Honda likes it. I raised ours about 3.5 inches to get maximum protection. I have always wondered why they put side molding so low that it is ineffective. Anyway, I am just pointing out that raising it is an option. Here is a link to a video for a CR-V, but the installation will be the same. But caution: Make sure you are satisfied with its position before sticking the ends on (that is what you stick first) because it is very unforgiving. Good luck.

I've been reviewing these boards for the past few weeks and they are an excellent resource so I feel obligated to post the results of my purchase for others, for better or worse.

    2011 EX-L w/ NAV
    $33575 which included destination
    $2350 Tax
$700 for title and docs (not happy about this about they were immovable after getting the price above)
    $36630 OTDI

I couldn't get a dealer in the area to beat these numbers. I also had a hard time finding dealers with inventory on hand for this car in the alabaster silver color I wanted.

Got it at Garden State in Clifton.

    Thanks everyone.

I have also recently been told by Weymouth January timeframe for an Elite. I wonder what their allocation is, how many they are allowed to order each month..

AutoSport NJ said they don't have any Elites in their January allocation, so they can't even order it until Feb.. am considering Weymouth as a plan B and see which car comes in first.

    thoughts out there?

I just purchased a Touring Elite for 41.4K. Given supply and demand I felt it was a fair price. There was only one dealer out of the 12 in an 80 mile radius that had an Elite. The dealer called me the moment it came off the truck. I bought it before it finished going through PDI.

There was no trade involved and I did not add any accessories. I was planning on paying list retail prices for the accessories to give the dealership more profit, but the parts department added in unreasonable labor charges for car seat covers, the cargo tray, and floor all season mats. I would understand a labor charge for roof rails, but I refused to pay above list retail for stuff you just toss in the car. I ordered the accessories online at below list retail prices.

Thanks for the info, your deal shows that Elite already sold with almost 3k off MSRP and the Van was sold to you even before it hit the ground with 3k off.
Buyers, do not listen to car salesmen regarding low supply crap, just that manufactures were busy making all other models first and now they move to Elite model, just give it a few weeks you will have more choices to shop around for Elite and the price will go down, I just requests a few more quotes for EX, EX-L from many dealers around my area and NONE of dealers quoted me at MSRP, no more MSRP, so give Elite a few weeks people.

Regarding the Elite, not sure why people prefer Elite over Touring, for safety? is it for the blind spot feature....., did you ever have an accident regarding blind spot... or most accident because of texting, talking, rear-ended?
And what is with split screen DVD? did you put 2 TVs right next to each other and ask your 2 kids to try to watch them? see how long it will last. Make them share and watch 1 show at a time instead of giving them too many options while you are driving....., less safe after all. Kids these days watching too much TV and too much game at home already......
  • ody42ody42 Member Posts: 4
I chose the Elite over the Touring for three reasons. The blind spot monitoring is a nice tool when dealing with high speed multi-lane traffic situations that you encounter in Metro areas like Atlanta. I have blind spot monitoring on another vehicle and it comes in handy with changing lanes. Its not a must have, but its a nice to have option.

The upgrade to the HID headlights on the Elite is a nice safety feature. I do some night driving in remote wooded ares where deer are quite common. The HID headlights are an improvement for my particular driving area.

The least important, but nice to have option is the hdmi input. Over the next several years DVDs will be replaced and having the option to play media across hdmi (via laptop or other device) gives more options. It may also help in a resale situation when dvd technology is dated. I do not intend to use the split screen features.

After perusing this site for months, I feel indebted to post about the finale. For better or worse, richer or poorer, (likely poorer) here is what we got…

    EXL/(No NAV, No RES) Black/Truffle

    Sale Price $32,694
(which included the destination fee of $780 and the $200 advertising fee)
    Pro pack $475
    Document fee $229
    License fee $24.81
    Total: $33,422.81

Haven’s paid taxes, but they are 7.9%.

This price is for the Kansas City Metro area. During a three day period I called a few dealerships hoping to work out a deal. There is something to be said for working everything out over the phone. One highly rated dealership would only sell the car for a few hundred less than MSRP, they would not budge and of course gave me every lie in the book…no thank you. Another dealership was up front about the final sale price…after negotiating they were only willing to sell the EXL for $33,400 (including dest and adv fee). I still wasn’t happy, I was trying to hit the $32,200 or $32,400 mark because I could see that quite a few people on this site were getting that for their purchase. Finally at 9:00 on Saturday, I called another dealership gave them the $32,200 figure. They told me they had what I wanted in the color I wanted, it was on the showroom floor, it had the pro-pack (rubber mats and mud guards) and they would remove the pro-pack and sell it for $33,169 (again dest and adv fee included). I offered to purchase the car with the pro-pack for the same price, they conceded (after balking) and we had a deal in less than 30 minutes. I was a little worried that the model had been on the floor, but it was fine and because the car had been “open” a lot of the toxic smells were gone. We are loving it!!!!

I am in the middle of purchasing an odyssey ex-l with nav. from Weymouth and I live in New York. The salesmen at Weymouth very nice and extremely helpful getting me my price (i dont want to give the price out yet because its not finalized and i dont want to jinx myself) lets just say they beat all my local dealers by over 6,000 dollars . They even took information i gave them about my 3 year old son who was born with a very rare seizure disorder and posted it on there facebook page to try and help me with medical expenses. Needless to say they went over and above the normal . I still have a couple more steps before the vehicle is in my hands but i am hoping that everything will continue to go smoothly , i will let everybody know how it all ends up !

    Hello

I am looking to purchase either a 2010 or 2011 honda odyssey minivan, any thoughts on dealerships in central FL? thank you
  • kvickkvick Member Posts: 1
Thanks to all of the posters, it's extremely helpful to have this information when negotiating.

    I purchased a 2011 Odyssey EX-L w/RES + towing package + pro package for $34995 + TTL at Fuller Honda on 11/24/2010.

I had a $400 cheaper offer from Weir Canyon Honda in Anaheim, but I decided to support a very friendly and helpful local dealer (Fuller) and save myself a 2 hr. road trip.

Hopefully, this helps someone out there. I got a lot of push-back from other dealers who wanted to charge MSRP. My advice is to know what you want and get multiple quotes.

Okay, after a lot of time spent on this, pulled the trigger today and have a beautiful new 2011 Odyssey EX-L w/RES in Polished Metal sitting in my driveway.

I live in Northern Virginia. I know there have been a lot of people shopping in this area. My advice is simple: go up to the Baltimore area! There are several Honda dealers up there that are friendly to deal with and the pricing is significantly better than anything close to DC--in MD or DC. I shopped virtually every dealer in the DC market--all the ones you read about on here. I know most of them pretty well from prior shopping experiences.

Originally, I received an offer for invoice at O'Donnell Honda in Ellicot City, MD. They were very nice, straightforward, honest folks, but they didn't have any of the colors that we liked and I knew I had another option. However, if they have what you want, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. When we visited we were treated quite well.

We ended up purchasing the vehicle at Norris Honda in Dundalk. Very impressed with this dealership. Internet salesperson was friendly and helpful and the sales manager was excellent. No pressure whatsoever, no funny business, etc. We did have to wait a while for finance as they had several transactions going at once, but the business manager was one of the nicest I have dealt with and once we were up had us out of there quickly with very little pressure to buy extended warranty, etc. This was a very "comfortable" dealership--there were no sketchy people hanging around, nobody eyeballing you when you drove up, etc. Everyone we encountered was professional and friendly.

Anyway, the deal was as follows:
Vehicle price (including freight, splash guards and wheel locks): $33058 (+TTL and $99 processing fee)

Even with the accessories, this is still just about $400 under invoice.

I did have a trade, but that was really a separate negotiation (the new vehicle price had been agreed up on first and there was no negotiation on that, only the trade.) I could have done a little better, but I shopped it around pretty good and concluded I wasn't going to get more than a few more hundred out of it. My trade was a 2007 Odyssey EX-L with 44k. They came in at $17500. I thought that was fair. It wasn't like they had any room really on the new vehicle.

All in all, I'm very happy with the deal. Honestly, I didn't think I'd be seeing this vehicle under invoice for a long time. The dealers that I was working with that were more local either didn't believe me or flat out told me they had no interest in selling me the vehicle at anything close to invoice. On one level, I understand that--if they have customers who are willing to pay more, then why sell it to me for less?

But a simple hour drive up 95 opened up a bunch of different options and I literally saved thousands.

Hi. I'm from Northern Virginia too and just contacted Norris Honda. Was their original quote to you much higher than what you were able to negotiate them down too? Was the quote you got from O'Donnell helpful in getting them to give you a better deal? Thanks for your help!

Thank you all for all the information on this site.

Bought Ex-L ( No DVD , NO NAV) ,Price 31200 +TTL+ 405 regis + 398 (doc) which is high(but got wheel locks + 3 yrs OIl change) + tax=35000 from OpenRoad honda, Newjersey.

good luck to all of you.

I ordered from Weymouth (2011 Touring) and received the car at the price quoted - no funny business.

    Folks,

I am getting an EX with about 400 miles on it. Is this normal or should I ask for a further discount on the price?

Also, what is the best rate on financing from Honda? A local dealer has 2.9% posted inside the dealership but others in the area are less forthcoming.

    Thanks in advance!
  • ohmy3ohmy3 Member Posts: 14
Cheapreading, who did you get financing from? The two banks I'm working with don't have have Weymouth Honda as their approved dealership so I can't use my loan with Weymouth. I was going to use Capital One or Bank of America so I'm using big lenders... Don't know Weymouth wouldn't be included except Capital One said they were very picky about who they do business with and avoid dealerships that don't protect their customer's data-- whatever that means.
  • mfletou1mfletou1 Member Posts: 508
From the get-go the online quotes were substantially less from the Baltimore dealers. In addition to the two I mentioned, Anderson was also less than the DC-area dealers but at least at that time they only had one vehicle and they were a little more than O'Donnell and Norris. Most of the negotiating I did was on my trade.

If you guys did ask for quotes and didn't get the same (lower) pricing, then I'm not really sure what the deal is--it does vary by day and inventory, I suppose. I tried dealing with some of the dealers closer to me and really got nowhere so I suspect no matter what, you'll do better up there.

    Hello,

Yes, go to Jon Hall Honda, they are located not too far from Orlando--in Daytona Beach. ask for Kurt Frank.

Whatever you do, STAY AWAY from Headquarter Honda in Clermont. They will rip you OFF...very Unethical at HQ Honda.

    Good luck purchasing your Odyssey

AVOID HILLSIDE HONDA in Jamaica, Queens NY. I spoke to SAMIRA this morning to check if they had EXL in Smoky Topaz. She assured me she had in stock and I drove all the way down. First, she introduced me to a sales rep, and another, and another. How many sales rep do one need to meet?! I had my family and kids to check this car out to find out that they DON'T HAVE IN STOCK. After I got upset and spoke with the managers, he bluntly told me this a tactic they use to draw customers in. What a truly DISHONEST dealership. If you don't have the car don't say you do. I would never buy from this dealership. It tells alot about how they conduct their business. AVOID HILLSIDE HONDA!!!

What is the price breakdown of what they are offering? Is it a 2010 with 400 or 2011? A 2011 with 400 is pretty high considering they only had it for less than a month. As for financing if you can become a PenFed or Navy Federal credit union member then you can get 2.9%. I became a member, applied, and approved all online in less than an hour. Let us know the price breakdown and we can help you more.

Just pickup my Oddessay Elite yesterday. Hook up today and exteranl blu-ray player to the hdmi input. All I can say is Wow. I plugged the blu-ray player into the 120 volt outlet and and mounted the blu-ray player in the truck space with velcro.

Got a great deal. Got more then 3000 off of sticker and only paid a little less then 1000 above dealer cost.

This car is very hard to get in NJ. Only 8 in my whole state and they are sold before they reach dealerships. Most dealerships are selling the elite for sticker.

I was not sure if the Elite was a good buy over the Touring model but being about to put a blu-ray player is a nice thing to do.

Hid lights I can not really tell the difference. Does anyone have the non-hid lights oddessy.

The sound system 640 watts did not sound that loud to me. I had it cranked up to 40.

did anyone get the elite and are they glad they spent the extra money for it.
  • escroescro Member Posts: 1
Got an Elite in polished metal metallic yesterday too.
I used the USAA car buyer's site and after a month of also searching other dealers for inventory and haggling with them for a reasonable price, I found one with Pohanka in NoVA who had one in stock. I took their USAA price which was 41420 which includes the destination fee. The Dealers Doc fee is 399.

Very happy with it so far. The cost/value of the improvements over the touring model is a bit hard for me to justify, but I like them. I expect there will be a hdmi adapter for the iphone/ipad coming out soon so I'm planning to use that to drive the video screen as well.

I might also like to get roof racks later on and possibly a towing hitch.
  • bluvideobluvideo Member Posts: 4
I am happy with mine too and agree with you on the cost/value of the improvments over the touring model. I could have saved '$41 a month for a total of $1200 if I would have just taken a Touring model. So the extra $1200 I paid for the extra $2500 worth of goodies is ok.

BSI is a guess a good feature to have but could have lived without it.

HDMI disappinted the way they did this. No plug on that side. I had to wire a plug on the other side to my blu-ray player and run the wires in the truck with the hdmi wire plugged into other side. Why put hdmi port with no plug on same side.

650 watt stereo system sounds like the last touring I had. I don't hear loud or the quility of a bose system like I have in my cts cadi.

HID lights are cool but don;t look blue.

Wide screen tv is ok. Still like the 9" one better.

So far I am happy but if I could go back I would have taken just the touring model and saved myself another $1200.

Well, I had pretty much given up on the 2010 Oddy Touring. Then a dealer called and said he would take my 35K offer. They dropped about $ 2700 in 2 days. I brought it home today. Sale was 35K + tax title and fees.

Great job! Your patience has paid off. It is end of the month they needed the sale. Now you will be like me checking this thread every few days to make sure you got a good deal. So far I know I have! :D

Good Job..when I purchased my Odyssey, sitting down with the salesman he went to that dusty tall desk where the nicotine-ladened managers sit and quote ridiculous head-ripping monthly payment.

He came back with a monthly Lease payment of $650+. I looked at him and politely told him, "ARE YOU CRAZY...?" He said what, you don't like the payment?

BINGO.....that is the reason car dealerships get the bad Rap they do...because of stupid antics like this.

Conclusion, I beat them down $250 less per monthly payment, threatening to walk out...they cleaned up their act somewhat. I didn't pay for the dealer RIP-OFF STICKER stuff like wheel locks, rear cargo tray, or mud flaps. All these things are useless to me, butI wasn't going to wait around that place and have them take them off. Wheel Locks are only good if you live in the Ghetto, and I don't see many Ghetto's with $30K+ vans parked outside. :P

I have been looking in the SE for a 11' EXL RES, out the door price of 36K. Is this a pipe dream?? Best offer so far is 37,652. Am I wasting my time waiting?

I would say 36.7k should be a good OTD, my goal is to get 10% off of MSRP for selling price to be considered a good deal.

    Hi

2 days ago, I just got new Pre owned certified 2010 Honda Odyssey EX-L (Only 8 miles on it). That includes Powertrain warranty coverage to 7 years/100,000 miles and Non-Powertrain Equipment Coverage 4 years/48,000.
But salesman pushed me to buy
    1) “Mechanical repair Service Contract” worth for $1400 for 8 years/100000
    2) for tires $400 for 5 years/75000.

I researched and come to know this contract is not Honda Service contract (Honda Care) and it is run by 3rd party name “The Mechanics”. When I called them, they mention, it is not cover any regular maintenance & service and if I miss any company recommendation even oil change – it will terminate my warranty contract.

Please some one let me know (for almost new odyssey with 7 years Powertrain warranty) – It is worth to keep these both warranties Contracts OR Cancelled out ASAP.

    Again Thanks in advance.
  • clermontflclermontfl Member Posts: 108
I wouldn't keep those ridiculous extended warranties. My neighbor has a 2005 Ody EX with 110,000 miles on it and has never had a problem. He runs synthetic oil, and changes it every 8-10k miles. He's ex-military and is very strict on keeping all routine service appt.'s. Seems if you do that then you shouldn't have any problems.

    Good luck.

Why would a '10 with 8 miles on it be sold as a CPO?
  • odyssey4usodyssey4us Member Posts: 45
I would cancel the warranties immediately, and if I felt the need for a warranty on a Honda, I'd shop online to buy a real Honda warranty. You can learn more about buying them online at this great site, http://www.odyclub.com/.
  • odyssey123odyssey123 Member Posts: 3
I have all warranties (Regular and Powertrain) from Honda.
But Honda Salesman pushed me to buy "Mechanical Repair Service Contract - 8Y/100K” as it Pre owned certified Honda Odyssey.
I thought earlier, this "Mechanical repair Service Contract" is from Honda, But later I came to know that Service Contract is from 3rd party.

I still surprised - Honda dealer selling 3rd party "Mechanical repair Service Contract".

Any one has any experience with this kind of "Mechanical repair Service Contract" and it is worth to go for Service Contract as I already have Honda Company warranties for 7Y/100K.

    Hi Odyssey123,

I had purchased new 2010 Honda Odyssey EXL with Nav and RES back in early May from an Illinois Honda dealer. I bought 7 year 75K extended warranty with $0 deductible for $900. This warranty is Toyota Extra Care Vehicle Service Agreement (Platinum). The Honda Dealer had links with Toyota (another ownership?) and he was able to offer to folks who couldn't afford Honda Care due to being too expensive.

This is equiv to Honda Care and covers so many things as listed in the link below.

    http://www.toyotafinancial.com/consumer/ShowBinary/BEA%20Repository/tfs/en_US/do- cument/TFS_Platinum.pdf

I believe you have 30 days to cancel warranty if you change your mind.

Paid 32,500k +TTR for an ex-l. I had to drive up to Riverside county, but it was the color I wanted. Most San Diego & Orange County dealers either didn't have any on the lot, or wouldn't go too far below MSRP. Supply is still tight, and most dealers didn't seem willing to trade or deal. Its not the best deal out there, but considering how tight the socal market is, I'm happy with it.
