What you were told is correct, elgatowiggy. Acura just introduced $2,000 dealer cash on the 2009 MDX yesterday. The great thing about this cash is that it is compatible with both the 0.9% to 2.9% special financing promotion and the special lease program.

What?? where is this? that is a great deal!!

In NJ, you can get the MDX with Tech for dealer invoice less $2,500 (or 39,003).

I was also dismayed at the quotes I received for a 36 month/15,000 mile lease (about $670/month before tax and tags). These monthly payments reflect the 48% residual (nonnegotiable since it is sent by Honda Finance Corp) and a money factor of 0.001780. Honda is not currently offering enticing lease incentives on the MDX other than the base model.

The $499 base model lease offer benefits from a $2,605 cap cost reduction offered by Honda.

Wanting an 09 MDX w/ tech and side moldings in the St. Louis area. Have an offer of 41,500. Anyone know if this decent? Am willing to travel a bit for best deal.
  • alcedesalcedes Member Posts: 8
that's pretty mediocre, here's some quotes for the bay area, CA on 09 MDXs:
    2009 MDX - $35,800+TTL
    2009 MDX Technology Package - $39,300+TTL
    2009 MDX Technology & Entertainment Package - $40,850+TTL
    2009 MDX Sport Package - $41,150+TTL

This was without any haggling. I'm still trying to find an 08, but stock is getting real low, I got a laughable quote for an 08 Sport w/PTG at 42k!?!, I told the idiot dealer I could get an 09 for 1k cheaper... I guess some dealers are still in lala land.

darkg, What part of the country did you buy your '08 MDX from? Thanks.
  • sanjaysdcasanjaysdca Member Posts: 269
the website for cerritos acura in LA says they have nine 2008 MDX's

    Good luck
  • alcedesalcedes Member Posts: 8
Thanks for the tip, but they're actually out of 08's, looks like they're just lazy about updating their website.
  • joryanjoryan Member Posts: 15
    Alcedes,

Were these quotes before the $2,000 rebate? Before holdback or destination as well? I am searching for the lowest price and those you quoted in CA are the lowest I've seen. Houston/Beaumont TX are still saying $44K+ on 09' tech and ent packages. Buying this weekend and need some great info. Thanks. What do you think is a fair offer? Of course, in least benifit of the dealer. Appreciate the insight!
  • elgatowiggyelgatowiggy Member Posts: 5
Car Man, do you know how long the $4000 dealer cash is good for on the '08 MDXs? Thanks.

We gave up looking for a 2008 MDX as we didn't want to settle for an undesired color combo\configuration. We recently started pursuing the current model year and have been offered a deal on a 2009 MDX Tech/Entertainment for $40,000 which includes destination and their processing (doc) fees. We are still waiting to hear back from other local dealers to see if they can do any better.

We currently lease a 2006 MDX which comes to term in February. Do you think this is a good time to deal or do you think we should hold out and see if the market and incentives get any sweeter?
  • alcedesalcedes Member Posts: 8
These quotes were after the 2k rebate, i got another set of quotes from Stevens Creek which were a little better:
    09 MDX with Tech: 38.6k
09 MDX with Tech and Ent: 40.2k

Of course these are just initial quotes, so there could be some hidden fees and costs.
    Good luck.

    I'd like to buy a 2008 MDX in White/Parchment.

Can someone point me to a dealer with one in stock?

I'm in South Florida and can't find one down here. There are plenty of 09's but I'm looking to save some money.

    Thanks,
    Brien
  • brien99brien99 Member Posts: 2
    Actually...

Is there any way for me to search a database of dealer inventory to figure this out?

Other manufacturers let you do this from their website (eg Mazda), but I can't seem to find something similar for Acura.

Do I have to resort to calling 50 dealers individually to ask them?

    Thanks,
    Brien
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
Brien99, There are a few Acura websites that do show the color combinations of their inventory. A larger percentage show the exterior color only, some show neither. If I were you I would decide the max distance you are willing to drive for a car. Contact each of those via their internet sales contact, every website has some type of contact us link. Ask them if the have a '08 white/parchment? If so what trim level are they? Request they communicate with you via email only.
If one replies they have one, you can make your deal over without even talking to them, (unless there is a trade involved) Click back thru recent post and you will see prices people are paying for 2008 and pick up some other tips. Good Luck.

Have offer for $30,200 for mdxsport entertainment package with 23k miles . White with black interior. Is that a good price?

Here is my experience from the past week of car hunting in the LA area.

Just picked up a new 08 MDX Tech w/PTG from Weir Canyon Acura in Anaheim/Yorba Linda in the OC yesterday. Drove down from the Westside because they gave me the best deal I could find and didn't play games. Got the car for $35.8 + TTL. They still have another identical car steel blue with ebony interior left. Josh Yoon was my salesman, very straight forward and friendly guy.

Got a verbal offer for $10k under MSRP from Keyes Acura last weekend but then later in the week they tried to bait and switch me, very unprofessional. They still have 3 base 08s left. They have overpriced dealer addons (body molding, wheel locks, etc) but you may be able to talk them down.

Glendale Acura has a blue one left but with expensive pimped out rims and wheel locks they can't take off. Judi Colton was friendly and accomodating over e-mail and the phone. Gold Coast Acura has several 08s left but couldn't beat Weir's price. Thomas Acura in Covina had an 08 Tech with PTG, black on black, but also with "Pro Package" (splash guards and wheel locks), their best price was $36.9 + TTL. Mike Shroeder was very reasonable over e-mail.

This forum has been very helpful in my hunt, thanks to everyone that has contributed. Good luck if you're still hunting for an 08 MDX in the LA area.

    Hi,

I had the following quote for a 2009 MDX with Tech:

    MSRP: $45,600
    Invoice: $41,500
Negotiated price: $39,000 (include $2,000 of cash rebate)
    APR: 2.9%

    Is it a good deal?

    Thanks
  • joryanjoryan Member Posts: 15
Was quoted $40,996 after $2K rebate. Doesn't seem to make sense to me as far as subtracting the rebate etc. This was in Houston Tx. Anyone else been given a quote on this same package and faired better? Thanks. I know CA dealers are doing $39.2 range.
  • kevin34kevin34 Member Posts: 42
    Is this a good deal?

    $36k

    includes:
    Running boards
    side molding
    all weather mats
    cargo mat

BTW - which is more useful the cargo mat or the cargo tray?

    Thanks
  • joryanjoryan Member Posts: 15
    Opinions please!

2009 w/Tech and dual headrest DVD installed ($1880 option) + wheel locks for $41,239. That quote includes doc and process fees. So $41,239 + TTL. Opted for those DVD's instead since I have 2 kids that won't watch the same thing. Watch out for the nitrogen tire servicing option for $315! It is a bogus piece of garbage. When has anyone put that in cars? I'm an aircraft mechanic and I know nitrogen goes in high PSI aircraft tires, not cars! It also doesn't help with wear and PSI loss.
  • Sonuf13Sonuf13 Member Posts: 4
I bought 09MDX with Tech for 38,800 (including all weather mats) in NJ last night.
  • sanjaysdcasanjaysdca Member Posts: 269
Not knowing $$ for processing and doc its difficult to tell...Seems little expensive to me...

How will dual DVD installation affect your warranty?

Also nitrogen in the cars is fairly commen..atleast in Southern Cali...If you buy tires from costco they alway put Nitrogen..Since nitrogen molecules are bigger they tires retain pressure longer

Having said that I would not pay a dime for nitrogen service

First time on the MDX forum (but many times on the Volvo S40 forum =), I was planning on picking up an MDX next year after my fiance and I are married but I've had to drop off my 2006 Volvo S40 for the 3rd time this year for non maintenance repair (and will have to be for a 4th time for a recall in a few weeks since they don't have the parts now). Well, long story short is we may shorten our time frame at purchasing the MDX because of this and we just got offerred in the SF Bay Area a 2008 MDX with less than 10 miles and tech package for $35.5k + TTL, what are your thoughts on this?

We don't need the car now since I can just sell my S40 and drive my fiance's TL until next year but is this offer too good to pass up? Will I see something similiar next year around September? Thanks for any information!
  • alcedesalcedes Member Posts: 8
that's a good price, i've been trying to get that for months, but most of the dealers are offering 36.9k for an 08mdx. Not to mention some moronic dealers offering prices above 09 models.
  • joryanjoryan Member Posts: 15
Finally picked up an 09' w/TECH and ENT with $350 discounted lojac for $41K even + TTL. Anyone buying in Houston...that's the best you can get. Got the car for $40.5K. Nobody else would go below $40.7. What's everyone think? Pretty good deal??
  • lenplenp Member Posts: 9
    Hello all!

Last month, I bought a 08 MDX for $32,700 plus dest, tax, and tags. Blue steel exterior with gray interior. Also got the 2.9% financing special. Got other quotes for above 33K from other dealers. Purchased from Rosenthal Acura in Rockville, MD (Washington DC suburb). I think I did very well considering the market. What are your thoughts?
  • alex_valex_v Member Posts: 4
    What do you think?

    2009 MDX Sport, MSRP $47,700, Invoice $43,407, Offer: $41,000

This is in Boston. Should I do better?

    Thanks,
    Alex

We have only one Acura dealer in our state (NM). We are looking at a '09 MDX + Tech. I'm wondering how much below invoice is considered to be a good deal? Especially with only one dealer to work with.
  • terleeterlee Member Posts: 2
Well, I've been looking all over for a 2008 MDX w/ Tech package and did check Weir Acura (which an earlier poster had said was offering for 35.8). They did have it and it was a great deal, but I really didn't like the blue steel color and didn't want to regret it and think about for the next 5-10 years. So I've continued looking, but it seems like most dealers are out of the 2008s or if they have them, they're asking for a crazy amount.

So...hunting around for the 2009 model...the best deal I've gotten has been $39k even. Not bad since most have been around 39.6 our much higher. Anyone else get a better quote? (im in the los angeles area)

I'm not in a big hurry, but do you think prices would be better if I'd wait? Maybe the latest I could wait would be March.
  • joryanjoryan Member Posts: 15
In Houston, dealers are letting them go for a fair price. They are getting only 1% of the holdback from consumers. So take off the $2000 dealer cash from Acura and between $400 and $600 below that should be the max you should pay. $40,743 is invoice, so $2,000 below that then minus the 2% holdback of the MSRP, and you should have your first offer of $37,646.20 + destination + TTL.
  • TexLongTexLong Member Posts: 6
    Where did you buy?
  • kevin34kevin34 Member Posts: 42
I finally pulled the trigger on an '09 MDX base with the following extra's (picking it up tomorrow):

    Running boards
    side molding
    all weather mats
    cargo tray

    $36.4k - which I think is a fair price.

This forum as been very helpful, thanks to all.

I just bought a 2009 MDX sport blk/blk for 43.5K with 2.9%, they also took back my honda lease 4 months early. the unpublished invoice price is 42K for a sport, so i dont see how a dealer will agree to anything less than that. I think dealers should make a small profit, not much though, all printed invoices on all of these sites are not true invoice prices, they are actually 1-2k below that number after incentives and holdbacks. I dont believe they actually have to pay off my lease especially since they are the same company, so they made 1350 on the deal. The 2.9 for 60mths is great.
  • Sonuf13Sonuf13 Member Posts: 4
I bought from BridgeWater Acura but most other dealers were offering for 39K. I think If you get the quotes over the phone and/or online and negotiate most of the deal before visiting the dealer they would offer you 39K and might come down by a couple hundred $s once you are at the dealer ready to cut the deal..

    Good Luck.

It's been awhile since I've kept track of MDX prices, but does the $42K Sport Invoice refelct the $2000 dealer support Honda is giving out?
  • Sonuf13Sonuf13 Member Posts: 4
    Thats right....
  • ejoyce423ejoyce423 Member Posts: 42
Are you saying this is for an 09 with tech and entertainment? The lowest we have been able to get a quote on this model has been about 39800 with dest.
  • pete9976pete9976 Member Posts: 9
Sonuf13 - Who did you deal with over at Bridgewater Acura? I'm looking to lease one and that price sounds really good.
  • bargainhunter7bargainhunter7 Member Posts: 3
suspendmix, I also live near San Francisco and am looking at the MDX. Which dealer did you get taht deal for, for the 2008 MDX?
  • gentoogentoo Member Posts: 2
Hey guys - My wife's car was just totalled beginning of this month and now we have to look for another car. This time, we wanted to get the Acura MDX and I prefer Tech pkg. The thing is, we are travelling on vacation on christmas and coming back only end of Jan. I've got a week before vacation and not sure if things will fall into place. My question is, will i not get deals when i am back from vacation? Also, I am in phoenix, I see people posting good prices from cal. Can I buy the car from Cal. instead of AZ?

    Your responses are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Gentoo
  • petertpetert Member Posts: 23
    Hi Gentoo,

1st question, probably nobody knows the answer.

2nd question, yes you can. You will pay your AZ tax/license the same as you buy in AZ. Either you pay extra ~500 or less to transport the car, even you don't need to come to CA in person if you can make decision over the phone/fax or internet. Or you come to CA and drive it back.

    Good luck.
  • petertpetert Member Posts: 23
I think there are still some 08 model left in the surrounding SF area and worth to look for.

Just ask for the price you think it's fair on the market. If it's not acceptable, you can talk with the next one.
  • mbanjombanjo Member Posts: 3
Beware of fraudulent Internet sales manager(s) at Gillman Acura in Houston, TX. The person I was working with failed to honor a firm negotiated price when I visited their location. Our negotiated price was 38.8k + ttl for 09 with tech. Hardly spent 5 minutes at their location.
  • gentoogentoo Member Posts: 2
I just picked up a 2008 - Tech/Entertainment pkg, the last one at the dealership for 38100 + TTL. I think I am pretty happy about the deal. What are your thoughts?
  • tx_sundeviltx_sundevil Member Posts: 3
What happend? who was it? Where did you go. I was supposed to go meet that gillman guy this week. Shoot me an email if you cant post the info. He quoted me 39,200 for tech plus ttl
  • mbanjombanjo Member Posts: 3
The initial quote sounds eerily similar. I negotiated it down to 38.8k for a drive out price of 41.5k. The sales manager started the usual gimmickry of how badly he messed up the price and that he was in serious trouble. Just to prolong he might even ask you to show other internet quotes you have. Don't fall for all that...just prolonging techniques. I simply asked him if he could honor the price. I immediately left when he said he could not.

I do not want to post names on this forum, but it sounds like you are heading down the same path. But, you may be luckier and the deal may turn out to be smoother. Good luck!
  • tx_sundeviltx_sundevil Member Posts: 3
Have you made a move anywhere else? Im looking to buy in the next week. Any info you have on the pricing for a tech would be greatly appreciated as I think were after the same thing in Houston. Lucky for us there seems to be plenty of them available.
  • cromwellsquarecromwellsquare Member Posts: 7
I am looking to buy an Acura MDX and came across a 2008 Sport Entertainment package. It is used and has 18000 miles on it. They are asking $36,999 for it. Seems like a pretty good deal. I can get an 09 new Tech-Entertaiment for $42,000 but not sure what to do. Does anyone know how much the Sport package is compared to just the Tech Package? Any help would be great. Im in CT and i can not find any more new 2008. Think they are gone.
    Thanks for your help.
