The ESOF in my new truck is just a knob on the dash, much like a climate control knob. However, if I ever feel that I want the extra security of positively knowing I am in 4wd, I just have to get out of the truck and changed the dial in the front hubs from auto to lock. It will override the ESOF.
The way I see it, the new ESOF provides the best of both worlds. With the old shift-on-the-fly in my 1992, I had a lever, but I didn't have the ability to override manually. Of course, I never need to override it and I used it alot in the winter. With the old SOF, all the parts weren't always free spinning either when you were in 2wd, unless you backed up 10 feet with the lever in 2wd. At that point, you couldn't shift on the fly anymore unless you stopped, shifted the lever into 4wd and backed up 10 feet. The new system eliminates all of that.
Er, at least in some trucks the 'lever on the floor' is just an electrical switch as well you know. Could someone with the Helms books confirm whether or not this is the case with the F-SD?
Brutus, I believe if you investigate thoroughly you will find that locking in hubs will not engage your transfer case and will only cause front axles and drive shaft to turn. you will not have 4wd.
Today I returned a call from Pruitt Ford. A sales lady told me that the guy that I ordered my truck with(the fleet manager) was no longer working with them. She went on to tell me that they expected my truck next week. I asked her if she knew the deal that we worked up? ( $99 under invoice) She got very quiet and I went on to tell her the deal so she had to go talk to the general manager. I talked with the G.M. and he told me that he would have never approved a price like that. After a great amount of chewing on him and wondering what he was going to do he went from $1000 over invoice to $500 over invoice. I told him that that was not the price we had agreed to, then he said he would think about it until the truck come in.
On top of that I asked them about the VIN stating the truck was coming with a v8 not the V10 I changed my order to, instead the order was changed from 3.73 rear end to 4.10 rearend with Limited Slip( I didn't know you could even get LS in a 4x2). So the truck that is coming is a SD 250 CC with 5.4 V8 autotrans. and 4.10 LS rear end. I might could have handled the v8 w/ 3.73 because my truck will primarily be used as a people hauler not a towing machine. What will the 4.10 do to the gas milage?
I know that the milage is close between the V10 and V8 and was hoping to get 13-15 with the V10. If the 4.10's drag down the milage I will not get the truck, but if it doesn't I will consider the truck alot. Due to the fact that I have been driving a '74 Olds for two months.
I would love everyones honest thoughts on this situation. I know that $500 over invoice is good. I am more concerned about the V8 auto trans 4.10 combo.
CW, Why would you even consider accepting the truck if the price, the engine, and the rear end is not what you wanted/ordered? You're right, $500 over invoice is not bad...if you were getting the truck you wanted, but you're not. I think re-ordering the truck, from a DIFFERENT dealer, and enduring the long wait would be the way I'd go.
Why don't you simply pull out your copy of the order, which should have been signed by you, signed by the salesman, and signed by the sales manager? I have mine in front of me -- lists option codes, prices, my deposit, et cetera. Then he can't complain. You did get something in writing, didn't you?
Your profile doesn't state your location. Does this dealership match deals? If so, there are plenty of places who do the $99 under invoice on orders deal. Even so, I'd go somewhere else, and fast.
The 4.10 will hurt mpg. I don't see you getting 13-15. I have the 4.30 with the V-10 and duallys. I'm averaging 9.5-10 around town with some highway. I've only got 1000 miles on the truck and it has been improving a bit with each tank. I think Stanford has the same setup as mine and I believe he said he was getting 10-10.5 in similar driving conditions. I think I can get 12ish on the highway if I want to hold the speed around 60mph. The mpg appears to start falling off once I exceed that.
From what I've heard, it sounds like the guys with the 3.73s are getting a good 2mpg better. I've heard some reports of 14-15 with the V-10 and 3.73 on the highway. You're still probably only going to get 11-12 around town. If you don't plan to do alot of towing, I don't think you'll be happy with the 4.10. It sounds like the V-10 3.73 is the right combo for you. I know how hard it is to wait, but I think you'll be happy you did if you change your order.
BTW, I love this truck. It was definitely worth the wait. I saw a 4wd dually CC Superduty with the white over tan yesterday on the way to work. Very nice looking truck.
Thanks guys. Yes I do have a spec. sheet with invoice price but no signatures on it. I was afraid of the 4.10 gears getting lower fuel mileage. I would like to hear from people that have the 5.4 V8 if there are any. I found out that my father-in-law drinks coffee with a man that is part owner of the dealer ship. So, I will see what happens after their talk. Stanford I live in Wichita Falls ( Home the the Cowboy TrainingCamp!) What ever.
I would look over the dealers lot for something closer to what you ordered and offer $99 under invoice for it. If you can't find something that suits you or they wont give you a deal like that, tell the dealer that you are going to post all over the internet exactly what they did to you. Even tell them the web addresses of where you are going to post. My dealer has been very inconsiderate to me. After I sign the papers I am going to tell them how upset I am with their service and if they don't give me a free bed liner I am going to tell everyone what happened. I intend to have a list of several web addresses where they can read my comments. You can't slander them or you will be sued. Just tell all of the facts. As for a V-8 gas engine in a Super Duty. I think it would be a white elephant when you try to sell it. MOST people are going to want a V-10 or diesel for towing and hauling power. You pay $300 extra for the V-10 when new, but get $500 more trade in value ten years from now. And they both get about the same gas mileage. Good luck buddy. I would be very pi$$ed if it happened to me.
Their is a dealer here in minnesota (apple valley ford) that has a F350 CC DRW 4X4 PSD auto with a sport truck conversion pakage. Leather seats electric sliding rear window and fiberglass running boards. I think they wanted about 39 grand. It has been their a few weeks so im sure they want to deal it. If anyone is interested just say so and i'll get you their #.
Tom BTW the color was Light praire tan. Also have a bright amber met. VERY nice color.
I have the V-8 SD, 4wd and am getting about 13 mpg combined. I do tow 7500lbs with Bobcat at times and it is certainly sufficient. If I were to do it all the time over lots of hills I would consider something bigger. As for it being a white elephant, it is funny how, before the v-10 when there was a choice of 6 or 8, the V-8 was the only way to go and had more than enough power. All the previous years of V8s are white elephants? All the people with diesels slight the V-10s also. I doubt there would be any problems selling it if I ever wanted to.
In NJ I see 5 SD V8's for every 1 V10. I hardly doubt there will be a problem selling them, mainly because most people don't have the same information that we do in this forum. The general public will think the V8 is a more economical choice, even if it's not true.
No offence chadw1, but if you ordered the vehicle without a confirmed price, what makes you think that the original person you dealt with would have honored the deal?
Here in Dallas, I'd say the SDs I've seen (many) are running about 60% diesel, 30% V10, and 5% (max) V8.
droz: A better comparison would be between large trucks (especially crew cabs) with the 351 vs. the 460. Yes, the 351s sell, but not for as much as the 460s (at least they don't down here). With so many 460s (and V10s in the future) available, why would a used buyer prefer a V8 that gets approx. the same mileage? I'm not saying that it wouldn't work just as well for them, but it doesn't have the same attraction for the buyers.
Obviously lots of people on this forum prefer bigger and thus better. There are cretainly advantages and disadvantages. One comparison I see here is the Dodge v-8 vs v-10. I see very few v-10s on the road compared to the v-8s. There may be cost differences or mileage differences but people are certainly not buying the Dodge v-10 in Wisconsin. I have seen very few SDs here yet so I don't know what they are buying. As for predicting what people will prefer in the future, I gave up on that when people started buying Harleys again.
On long lead times for CC, V10, Lariat.... my dealer informed me that Ford forcasted over a year ago what would sell (they must have a crystal ball dept.) and I am sure they looked at the number of Dodge V10's that were selling when they set the production schedule. Anyway, the powers to be set up the production line to make 9% in Lariat trim (that is not much!), also 20% Crew Cab (that's OK), and only 14% in V10. I think the combination of Lariat/V10 is what is setting you back. I just read in the Wall Street Journal that FORD is closing a Van plant for 3 weeks because they want to take the V8's that would have gone into vans and put them into pickup trucks... which are selling faster and have higher margins. Also, from the WSJ, total sales for US market is running over one million vehicles ahead of estimates from the powers to be. Bottom line is that Detroit has never has it this good and they cannot keep up with production. Does anyone know how difficult/expensive it would be to change the rear end ratio after delivery??? I am still waiting for mine but I do have a ship date (end of Nov. for CC, PSD, SB, F250, Lariat)... but if I had to do it again I think I would suggest we all search local dealer lots and if we find any units for sale we post it. I would take the bet that there are enough Super Dutys sitting on lots to satisfy some part of all those who are waiting. Good luck to all... this is a great site.
I was at Beach Ford in VA Beach a couple weeks ago, and they had oodles of F150s, and superduties of all flavors. They also had at least a dozen of the Nascar special f150s. I wonder if they were holding stock for the norfolk plant or what, but they had a tremendous lot full of trucks.
There are plenty of places with many F150s (I like Prestige Ford in the Dallas area -- over 1,000 of them). The SDs on the lots are still selling for a lot more money then you would have to spend on an ordered model.
There's a bit of a difference between the V8/V10 comparisons of Dodge and Ford. The Ford 5.4 really can't move the heavier Super Duty truck, while the Dodge 360 *can* get the Ram 2500/3500 moving with decent effort. The Ford V10 is more of a necessity, while the Dodge V10 is strictly an "image" for a lot of people.
I picked up my F250 SD Crew Cab 4x4 XLT 156" wb V-10 Auto BEAST today. It feels lot bigger than my 97 F150 Super Cab. It got here two days short of 11 weeks after ordering. I am happy with the power, but it seems to have a little clunk in the front end when you creep it forward and apply the brakes. I will check it out to see if anything is loose (wheels, shocks, etc) if I can't find anything, I will take it back. My dealer, FIVE STAR FORD is Scottsdale Arizona, was a VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I will never buy a vehicle from them again. I thought that they were lousy when they wouldn't return my calls or give me information about my build date, etc. But tonight when I went to pick my truck up, they tried to fleece $900 more out of me. They tried to claim that the price I had on my paperwork didn't include tax, license, etc. Fortunately there was a "OTD" after the price that meant out the door. The jerk kept coming back and saying that the numbers wouldn't add up right. And I kept saying that this was the price that we agreed on. Finally after about an hour they gave it to me for the originally agreed on price, and they said to do that, they were giving me more for my trade in. I think it was all BS to try to get a few hundred more bucks out of me. I will never go back there again. If it wasn't for the long wait between ordering and getting, I would have walked out of there and told them to shove the truck up their @$$. A word to the wise, you people that haven't ordered yet, make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing, and SIGNED by a big shot. My original salesman doesn't work there anymore,so without that "OTD" on there, I would have had to shop elsewhere, because I wouldn't have paid that extra $900. Also they gave me less than a quarter of a tank of gas. This is my third brand new Ford truck. One had duel fuel tanks and were BOTH filled when I bought it. The other had a full tank when I bought it. These clowns at Five Star are going to get a bad report card from me when Ford sends me the questionnaire.
I'm looking for a 1999 Ford F-250 SD SuperCab 2WD or 4WD with the 7.3 International Navistar diesel engine, but in my country (Uruguay - South America) is not for sale so I've to import from USA. The problem is that there is not to much information about this vehicle, please I would like to know average fuel economy, 0-60 mph speed time, maximum speed without load and any other performance information. Thanks
reply to Stanford the mechincal 2wheel drive selector is a complete mechancial linkage the sof, has a motor on the tranfer case plus uses vacumn from the engine to opererate the hubs the vac lines are routed from engine to transfer case then to the hubs.
I've got the f350sd crew 4x4 with snow plow prep...the only engine available is the 5.4....I'm told the v-10 and the diesel put too much weight up front. Does anybody know why I can't turn my steering wheel with the brake firmly depressed while in drive or reverse (I'm doing a 3pt.turn in the drive)? If I let up slightly there is alot of moaning and groaning going on in the front end. This is all happening in 2wd. Trap
Well, first of all you're not supposed to do that. If you have good tires, then you're trying to override the friction between them and the road that is helped by the weight of the truck. If you let off on the brake so that you move slightly (a fraction of an inch is fine) then you'll have a much easier time of it. It sounds like your power steering pump isn't strong enough to overpower your tires.
Ordered an F250SD Lariat on June 25, and it came in this week. Just thought I'd contribute some information to help those who might still be waiting a long time. I'm located in central North Carolina. The dealer had originally quoted the usual 8 to 12 week delivery time ("definitely here by September"). After waiting that long and beyond with no build date, I found the phone number for the Atlanta Regional Sales office and contacted them. They expedited the process (probably raised the priority). The next day I was given a build date set for two weeks later. In case there's anyone else in the same boat, I found the Atlanta Regional number from the phone listing at: http://www.carolina-auto.com/ncada/associate.html Thanks to everyone for posting their comments. I think this forum is where I first found out about contacting regional sales to speed things along. It really helped!
f150man, you could get the price fairly easily by calling any Ford dealer. I asked a while ago - the price was something like 600 dollars, as I recall, but that was a couple of years ago.
Hello, I just bought a 1999 SD 4X4 Shortbox x-cab with the V-10 and 3.73 ratio. I am looking at getting larger tires on it (currently has 235/R85). Does anybody have the same truck and has put larger tires on it? I'm interested if it noticably affected the gas mileage and power/acceleration.
Also, I have noticed a bit of a vibration at between 2000 and 2500 rpm's during acceleration...anybody else notice this. I'll have to check again to be exact, but it is somewhere in this range. I can feel the slight vibration on my feet and it sounds like a faint growl.
Thanks for the response...Brandt (dennehyb@mcn.net)
No vibrations with my V-10 and 4.30s. The engine gets noticably louder for about a five mile range between 75-80mph, but there is no vibration. This appears to be normal from what I've read on other sites. The only thing it might impact is where you would set your cruise control on a long trip. You'd probably set it at 74 or 81.
I'm very happy with the V-10 4.30 dually combo. Very smooth with plenty of power. My mpg is 9.5-12, with the 12mpg being highway miles around 60-65. I've only got about 1,500 miles on the truck so far. From what I've been reading from a few other people with the V-10 3.73, they seem to be getting about 2mpg better. I've been hearing reports of 11.5-14. My 92 4x4 had the 351 3.55 and the best it ever did on a long trip was 14-15. It didn't have near the power of the V-10, so I'm pretty impressed if the V-10 3.73 is getting 14 on the highway.
I guess you can say my delivery issue has been solved. On Monday I took the truck back and told them that I didn't want the truck because of the rearend. I told them If they would change it at no charge I would consider the truck even with the v8. We went to the service dept. to see how much it would cost them to replace the rearend. The parts man said $940 part&labor. The G.M. said no way, so I walked out. Two hours later they called wanting to make a deal. They are going to change the rearend no charge (got it in writing), and an unbelievable interest rate.
Right now I have 700 miles on it with two tanks of fuel gone I've got 12.5 mpg. with 4.10 rearend.(5.4 v8) I hope to see a little improvement with the 3.73.
Yes, I do know that I settled for the v8 over the v10. I will not argue the power difference, but I know this truck will do every thig I want it to do. I have been really impressed with the way it drives.
Ordered my 99 SD, 4x4, PSD, lwb, XLT, 3.73, auto., Supercab, srw, all power options, esof on Sept 16th and it arrived at the dealer on 11/06. I will pick it up Monday pm after a spray-on bedliner is installed. I will bring it back to have tu-tone paint and color coordinated wheel flares by EGR installed. I did notice today that I did not order the passenger airbag, but it was there anyway, with a key lockout ( my wife is concerned for our young ones, who would probably ride in the back anyway!) Also the wheels are aluminum but are not as shiny as the first models built. Anyone know why? By the way, the fleet manager informed me that I had ordered it just in time, because Ford had raised the price by $950, but my price was locked in. I paid $300 over invoice. The sticker in the window says $36000 plus, but I am paying only $31000 plus. I am adding almost $2000 worth of aftermarket goodies, such as supersteps, bedliner, bugshield, mats front and rear, wheel flares and metallic prairie tan two tone paint to go with the stock woodland green metallic. Should make this truck a little unique for a while. The FishNg1@aol.com
Sounds like you set a record on quick delivery! Tell me what is this "spray on" bedliner? I have not heard of it... and all I can invision is the old undercoating they used to spray on. Who does it and what does it look like, can it be removed?? My Super Duty is due in the end of the month and this bed liner may be something to consider.
Check out the topic about Rhino Liners. Rhino and Line-X seem to be the two top brands of spray-ons. I got a Line-X in mine. It looks sharp. My folks have a Rhino in theirs and they like it. If you want to read more about it, Line-X has a website at www.line-x.com.
I have noticed a problem with my engine, and would like to know if others have experienced it, what the cause may be, and what will Ford do about it?
I just got my F-250 SD 6.8L V-10, SC LB 4x4 3.73LS 5spd manual on Wednesday, I drove it 600 miles since then, and have noticed a problem with the engine. Engine noise gets extremely loud from 2200 to 2400 rpm with peek noise occuring at 2250 rpm. With the 3.73 axle and 5th gear, this occurs between 72-77 mph. The noise and increased vibration occur in all gears, but its most noticeable in 5th, as the engine spends more time passing through this rpm range at the higher gears. Another observation to go along with this is that if coasting down a hill, and dropping from 2500 rpm through 2200 rpm without applying the gas, their is barely any noticeable increase in noise or vibration, but when going uphill and pushing on the gas trying to accelerate up through this range, the noise is extremely loud, and the vibration is evident.
I know this is a problem, and it really feels like I would be damaging the engine if I maintained speeds within those rpm ranges, not to mention my hearing. If anyone can give me any help it would be appreciated.
Well, my truck has an ETA of 11/16. I even got the VIN from the dealer and it checked out at Edmunds "lemon check site". Hopefully....
Has anyone tried any online loan companies, or PeopleFirst Finance in particular? They offer 6.9% 5 yr loans, which is better than anything else I've seen for a 99 SD. Any opinions or experiences?
dennis4 Glade to see that you will have your truck shortly. I still don't have a build date on mine yet. the wife and I was talking the other day and hae decidd if we don't get it by the end of Jan. we will cancel the order and wait and order a 2000 model or maybe get a dodge. I understand that dodge will have a Crewcab out early next year. Ford is bout to miss the boat with long delivery wait. I am a Ford man and have been for a long time but 3 to 6 months wait will try anyone nerves. Hope to get a build date shortly..The wife will be at the dealership Thursday to resolve the color. They told me that I could not get a red metallic paint so we changed to the Hunter Green becaus it is metallic, but I saw in the f-series advertisment brocuer that there is a red metallic paint ffered. Oh well see what happeens. hoep to be able to drive a Ford but jan will be the turning point.
If you haven't settled on the color, then the dealership can't have submitted the order, so how can you expect a build date? If the dealer doesn't have allotment problems (so your order gets submitted immediately) and nothing you order is on hold (like the dark red metallic was back in Oct.) then you should get the truck in 4-6 weeks, period.
Talked to my straight talking Rep Jay At Sawgrass Ford, Sunrise Florida asking status on my order of a v10 sd two months ago and no vin yet. " The problem is with the V10 Engines not being installed, The PSD ARE THE HIGHEST PRIORITY RIGHT NOW."
How do those super duty 3/4 tons handle. are they smooth or bouncy hows that new V10 thinking about buying one for small deliverys in my bussiness All ready ordered a new sierra 2500 but might get a ford too ! would get reg. cab. HATE TO ADMIT IT BUT THEIR STARTING TO GROW ON ME THE MORE I SEE THE FORD SUPER DUTY 3/4 V10 373 or 410
Well my truck finally arrived and I picked it up this morning. What a great ride! I did not expect a 1 ton truck to be this smooth. The truck is a F350,srw,v-10,3.73,cc,limited slip, xlt, long bed,med tan color, auto. After 5 1/2 month wait I almost wanted to sleep in it tonight so no one could steal it. Hope everyone gets their trucks sooner than I did.
First, I apologize for asking a LD truck question in a forum for you big guys, but this seems to be the place where knowledge about ford delivery issues is most concentrated. I am assuming the ordering process is the same for f150 as it is for SD's.
I just put in an order today for a 99 f150. The dealer faxed me the computer printout with all the options, invoice and MSRP prices on it. At the top it says the priority is 10, which from reading back on this forum means it is pretty high on the list, right?
When you speak of a "clean" order, does that mean it was accepted by the computer? I ask because I waited for a "late availability" option to become available, and the dealer's computer would not even take the order until the magic turn-on date (today). Does the fact that it went into the computer mean my order is "clean?"
The dealer said that ford should call him back in a few days and at that time he will have to confirm the order, so I'll have to initial the deal, and if I want to change anything I can do it up to then.
OK, so does this mean that the "order is pulled?" when he confirms it, and if so, does that imply that it is put in the schedule for the plant then, and have a VIN, etc?
Does being close to the plant make a big difference in delivery date? I mean is the big part of the delay associated with backlog at the plant (prior to building the truck), shipping, or something else? The dealer is about 25 miles from the Norfolk plant. He estimated 6 weeks, maybe less, and I am hoping for less, naturally. ;-)
I appreciate any clarification you guys can provide. Thanks!
DaimlerChrysler is not wasting any time on DayOne with announcements and projections. Is a Super Duty Ram in your future? Maybe Ford has some competition (finally). Click here:
As far as I know the F150 is readily available and 6 weeks sounds about right. The Super Duty delivery delays are a whole different breed of cat (or should I say International). the wait for a F150 is childs play compared to what Super Duty worshippers are going thru. Good luck.
Thanks for the link to Dodge press release on trying to compete with Ford's super Super Duty series of trucks. Note that they say it will not be ready until 2003. I have watched lots of companies join together... and I hate to say it, but the odds are Mercedes and Chrysler will spend the next three years fighting internally to figure out who has the most power (America or Europe). By the time the dust settles, Ford will own the market segment of the Super Duty. I would not not think Dodge will be a real contender here. People who buy Super Duty trucks generally look beyond the sheet metal ... and Dodge doesnt always measure up. The press release does say a lot about how the rest of the industry views this Ford "winner"... and also expalins why deliverys are so dang slow!!!!
Yeah, I felt kinda bad about bringing up the 6 weeks delivery here; I have read most of the posts here and realize you guys are looking at months. My dad just asked a dealer in Richmond, va about a 99 SD to replace his 96 diesel f350 crew cab long bed 4wd (yep, it is pretty much like driving a bus!) and the guy said to wait until you know you'll want a new truck in 6 or 7 months and then order it...
The main thing I was trying to get a handle on was the terminology and sequence of things. I have never ordered a vehicle before. Thanks...
This site seems very helpful. I am close to a decision about an SD 250. I need to pull a 5,000# travel trailer. The specs indicate plenty of reserve on GCWR with the 5.4L/3.73 axle. Would I regret not getting the 6.8L V-10? The loaded trailer could weigh up to 7,000#. I prefer the 5.4L but without experience don't have any basis other than the printed specs to go by. Any responses appreciated.
The 5.4 and 6.8 both get almost the same MPG. The V-10 is only $300 and you will get at least that much more from it when you trade it in down the road. You might as well enjoy having the extra power. I say, go for the V-10. I did, and am happy that I did.

I believe if you investigate thoroughly you will find that locking in hubs will not engage your transfer case and will only cause front axles and drive shaft to turn. you will not have 4wd.
I am more concerned about the V8 auto trans 4.10 combo.
thanks

Why would you even consider accepting the truck if the price, the engine, and the rear end is not what you wanted/ordered?
$1000.00 more for automatic this one has the small 4.2 v 6 bad choice?
What ever.

BTW the color was Light praire tan.

V10's super cabs. One red the other green.

That's the new ABS system settling in. It happened on several new Fords I've been in, and my new F350. It goes away after a couple of hundred miles.
Thanks
the mechincal 2wheel drive selector is a complete mechancial linkage
the sof, has a motor on the tranfer case plus uses vacumn from the engine to opererate the hubs the vac lines are routed from engine to transfer case then to the hubs.
sorry my mistake the vacuum line run from engine to a pvh solenoid then to the hubs
Does anybody know why I can't turn my steering wheel with the brake firmly depressed while in drive or reverse (I'm doing a 3pt.turn in the drive)? If I let up slightly there is alot of moaning and groaning going on in the front end.
This is all happening in 2wd.

Ordered an F250SD Lariat on June 25, and it came
in this week. Just thought I'd contribute some
information to help those who might still be
waiting a long time. I'm located in central North
Carolina. The dealer had originally quoted the
usual 8 to 12 week delivery time ("definitely here
by September"). After waiting that long and beyond
with no build date, I found the phone number for
the Atlanta Regional Sales office and contacted
them. They expedited the process (probably raised
the priority). The next day I was given a build
date set for two weeks later. In case there's
anyone else in the same boat, I found the Atlanta
Regional number from the phone listing at:
http://www.carolina-auto.com/ncada/associate.html
Thanks to everyone for posting their comments. I
think this forum is where I first found out about
contacting regional sales to speed things along.
It really helped!
I just bought a 1999 SD 4X4 Shortbox x-cab with the V-10 and 3.73 ratio.

My Super Duty is due in the end of the month and this bed liner may be something to consider.
The noise and increased vibration occur in all gears, but its most noticeable in 5th, as the engine spends more time
passing through this rpm range at the higher gears. Another observation to go along with this is that if coasting down a hill, and dropping from 2500 rpm through 2200 rpm without applying the gas, their is barely any noticeable increase in noise or vibration, but when going uphill and pushing on the gas trying to accelerate up through
this range, the noise is extremely loud, and the vibration is evident.
I know this is a problem, and it really feels like I would be damaging the engine if I maintained speeds within those rpm ranges, not to mention my hearing. If anyone can give me any help it would be appreciated.
Has anyone tried any online loan companies, or PeopleFirst Finance in particular? They offer 6.9%
5 yr loans, which is better than anything else I've seen for a 99 SD. Any opinions or experiences?
Thanks
Glade to see that you will have your truck shortly.
" The problem is with the V10 Engines not being installed, The PSD ARE THE HIGHEST PRIORITY RIGHT NOW."
Thanks!

Good luck.
Thanks...
