Did you recently rush to buy a new vehicle before tariff-related price hikes? A reporter is looking to speak with shoppers who felt pressure to act quickly due to expected cost increases; please reach out to PR@Edmunds.com for more details by 4/24.
there happens to be the plate on the front, plus a Lions magnet on the rear. Then I have my "T" on the back corner of the window for My Tennessee Vols, and my "T" Trailer hitch cover. I have gotten numerous requests as to where I got the plate for the front from Lions Fans (there are a lot more of us than you think :P )
unfortunatly it is a safety measure to make them work with only the head lamps. This way people are not driving around in the dark with only fog / running lamps. The Ford Escape is the same way. And if you notice, when you turn on your HB's the fogs go off also.
I understand the safety issue, however numerous carmakers (including some Ford products and General Motors products)allow you to run the foglamps with parking lamps only. This works well in certain situations (driving in snow/fog) to allow you to see better without the glare back into your eyes from the headlamps. This works even better with amber bulbs in the fog lamps.
Has anyone purchased a full nose mask for an '07 Pilot? If so, did it come with a storage bag? If so, can you please post photos of the bag. I purchased one and I think my dealer is trying to put one over me and would love to make sure. Here is what the nose mask description states on the honda website:
Keeps your Pilot looking like new
* Leather-grain, quality vinyl protects front paint from insects and minor road debris * No-mar fasteners and covered mounting hooks protect finish * Handy storage bag for convenient storage * Felt-lined backing ensures a smooth, wrinkle-free, protective fit that is both slip- and mildew-resistant * Provides a custom Pilot look
I am curious if you installed just the crossbars or the entire roof rack. I have an LX (w/o the rack) and am looking to install a rack with crossbars. Any/all help/advice is appreciated.
"I am curious if you installed just the crossbars or the entire roof rack. I have an LX (w/o the rack) and am looking to install a rack with crossbars. Any/all help/advice is appreciated. "
It was just the crossbars, I have an '06 Pilot EX so the side bars where already installed from factory. If you goto College Hills Honda you can click on Pilot accessories, then roof attachments, then just click on the PDF instructions for each part. I would reccomend the dealer install on the side bars though, that way they are under your vehicle warranty.
I recently purchased a 2006 LX and later decided that the seating the EX was much better for us. So now I am adding EX features to the LX. I found near new front and second row seats and am in the process of swapping them in. I also swapped in the overhead console and now have the built in remote. That took about 10 minutes to do. The Second row seats went in perfectly and my son says they are more comfortable and we like the center pull down rest and pocket. Total time, 30 minutes from old to new. I switched the front passenger seat (again, install was a snap, everything lines up perfectly). However, the seatbelt warning light doesn't come on when there is a passenger and the belt is not connected and the airbag icon is on all the time. Does anyone know if there need to be some kind of system reset to clear this? And the last piece is putting the power drivers seat in. I was told that I need to add a relay to control power to the seat motor, but this seems like an odd component that should be in the seat itself and I should only need to run 12v. Anyone have any suggestions or places to check on these questions? And I have perfect front and second row seats and a front center console if anyone is interested.
Has anyone found CLEAR vent shade (visors) for the doors yet. All I can seem to find are smoke colored ones. Also, how well do the vents help. Only other question I have for those who already have the ventshades, do they mount on the outside of the door (window) or do they go into the window track using 3M tape in both cases. I want to get the vent shades, but would rather have clear (better visability).
P.S. - Just ordered the OEM Rear Splash Guards (with hardware) today for $20.00. I got them through a local salvage yard that has 4 2006 Pilots, but only 1 had the rear guards. I printed out the install instructions from the College Hills Site, so this way I can be sure to get all the correct hardware for them.
I checked with Weathertech and they have a set of side ventshades for the Pilot that do not use tape or adhesive. They mount in the track of the window using bow pressure. They also have 2 shades Light Frost (almost clear, but lightly smoked) and Limo Smoke (Very Dark). They are $89.99 + $12.00 s/h. I'm still looking for clear, but the not using adhesives is a plus for me, this way when it get Very Hot, I don't need to worry about the glue becoming gummy and seperating from the window / shade.
I purchased the front & rear bumper trim and when I tried to install the front tr8im I didn't like the way the template lined up for drilling the first hole. The hole would not have been on the crease in the bumper. Has anyone had any experience with this?
Well, I ordered the Weathertech side shades, and will post pictures on my carspace photo album when I get put them on.
So my add-on list no stands as; Added 1. Clear Bug Deflector by AVS (purchased on eBay) 2. Rear Splash Guards (got from local salvage yard) 3. Semi-Clear Front / Rear Side Window Deflectors by Weathertech (purchased from Weathertech) 4. Cross Bars for Roof Rails by Honda (purchased on eBay) 5. Honda Trailer Hitch / Towing package (installed by dealer at no charge)
Still planning on 1. Side Step Bars 2. Fender Flares 3. Front Bull Bar or Grille Guard (haven't decided which yet) 4. Rear Taillight Bars 5. Front Grille Replacement (by Honda) 6. Upgrading Tires (for better off-road / snow traction)
I figured by the time I get everything I want, I will need tires, so that's why it's listed.
I just bought an EX-L with Nav and want to install a bluetooth device to allow me to use the existing speakers and mic. Has anyone done this who can give me suggestions?
Has anyone added the musiclink ipod connection to their pilot? If so, what parts do I need? Does it allow you to see the song info either from the audio display of the Nav display?
Getting ready to pull the trigger on an '07. I like some ofthe options to spruce it up a bit but noticed a lot of you buy aftermarket and install themself. I also have seen posters here saying some of the dealers have included crossbars, mud flaps as throw ins. My dealers so far claim they are already working from invoice. Anyway, I probably think I am more handy than I actuall am, but how difficult is it to put on the side-steps, mud plaps, etc. Is that the way to go?
You can review the installation instructions for any of the add-ons to get an idea of what is involved. Typically, if you can follow directions and can do some basic wrenching, you should be okay. The dealer installed my cross bars, mud flaps for me on the Pilot but I put them on our Oddysey. I still payed $1300 below invoice for our 07 Pilot EX 4WD.
You can go into the Model Year you need, then check out all the accessories. With each item, there are install instructions you can print out in PDF format.
I am looking at the side bars, but there is a nice set on eBay, that (1) is cheaper, and (2) won't need to pay for install.
Winter has set in and I am behind getting some all-weather floor mats. It seems the Weather Tech floor mats provide the best protection. Does anyone have experience with them or recommend another set? Thanks
Bought my wife and new baby a Pilot. My 3rd Honda.
I have a feeling I am going to trick it out a la Odie, (I mean, it is THEIR car, but I might as well have some fun with it!) and thus, I have a few questions:
1) For Honda Factory Accessories:
Seems like people on here like H and A.
Are they the most price competive, and/or does anyone know of a similarly good store that is outside of California? (e.g let's not pay sales tax if we don't have to)
2) I used to shop at Jackson Racing when I had a Civic - great performance and high tech accessories - wheels, turbos, mufflers, etc.
Anyone know of a place like this that has some similar items directed to the Pilot?
3) Anyone have any data/info regarding the best (from performance standpoint) size wheels and tires for the pilot? We'll rock some new rims and tires after the first set wears out.
Just purchased an '07 LX and was wondering how hard it might be to get daytime running lights (like the Canadian version) to work on my U.S. Pilot. Has anyone done this?
Trickier question: Instead of the low-wattage high beam DRL, can anyone figure out a way to do this with the projection lamp above the low beam lamp?
Also there are a couple of companies that sell modules. Just search on google.
Have you considered contacting a Canadian Honda dealer and see if they will sell you the control module. They are required in Canada and the Pilot should be pre-wired for it.
Thanks for the response. I actually visited the sight you mentioned fairly often as well and have come to the conclusion that it's probably more trouble than it's worth for me.
I was hoping for a "plug and play"-type solution. But doesn't seem quite that way.
I'm now wondering about the auto-off feature that are on EX models... If it a simple matter of a relay being popped in - I'd be all over that!
Any suggestions for after market DVD For Pilot EX-L-06. Overhead Vs. Behind the headrest.
Wonder if any one has twin sets behind the headrest with two different players ? Also any problems playing DVD,s when you are moving-such as slipping DVDs. Also can you add more wireless headphones that two standard?
hi. can someone help me in finding a refurbished or any original in-dash navigation for pilot 2006. Bought my pilot 6 months ago and thought I would not need a gps, but now i realized I need one. also, is the installation just a simple plug ins? that is if i can find one. thanks guys and hope you can help me out with this.
I looked into this. I was going to get a nav system from a local salvage yard, but the nav system in the dash is not the only part. There is a large computer system that has to be installed in the rear quarter panel of the pilot plus the sat antenna on the roof (little round hockey puck) plus all the wiring and redo of the HVAC system. It was not worth the trouble or the extra money it would cost.
thanks! I think if we can salvage just the wire harness and the navi unit, it will just be a simple plug-ins. But not sure though. The vahicle already has it antenna.
Hi just ordered exhaust finisher from hondapartsdeals.com and they said that its only one finisher for the price of 63.07$. I don't believe because at this price I can also get at Bernardiparts but I bought it from them because of the 25$ coupon I got from buying Extended warranty from them.Any comments for this and need help and its already shipped as I knew from email.DO I really need to contest them? Thanks.
You can use a full size spare, but if only a the factory trailer hitch will work with it. I picked up a steel wheel from a salvage yard and put on on of my old GY tires.
My 97 Acccord SE 4cy automatic with 185K miles starts fine. I let it warm for a minute or two, put it in drive and within 100 yards it has no power, running really rough. I put it in nuetral, shut the motor off then restart and it runs fine for the rest of the trip. I'm thinking it's some sensor that resets on the restart. Something that affects ignition or fuel. Any one have ideas on what to check or how to diagnosis the system?
I have a 07 pilot and was just wondering if any one has been able to connect ipod or zune to music system. Can we get any aux connector or something like that.....
I just purchased a 07 Pilot EX-L 4wd on Saturday 2/17/2007.
I wonder if anyone can give me some recommendations on where and which brand of floor mats, cargo tray and cargo covers that I can purchase?
Thanks in advance
p.s. I am looking for the OEM of the cargo tray / cargo covers. I live in Los Angeles, and I wonder if I need to have the heavy-duty floor mats? I tend to take good care of inside of the car.
Congrats on the new Pilot! I got my OEM mats from www.hondapartsdeals.com - they were shipped with no problems. With this New England snow, dirt, sand and mud it's an absolute necessity.
Any word on the 2007 Pilot(or Hondas in general)not being able to adapt an FM modulator because the connector is different?Took mine to Best Buy for Sirius hookup and was told this.Is there a fix or product on the way.Reception sucks without it.
Hey is it okay to offer Pilot stuff for sale on this forum?....I have one alloy rim off a 2003 Pilot in excellent condition that I wish to sell...I used one of these to replace my own temporary spare on my 2005 Pilot. It fits fine in the space that currently holds the temp spare. This rim looks identical to 2003-2005 pilot OEM rims, but will fit later models that look slighlty different..This wheel does not have the tire pressure sensor found in the 2005 and later cars..but as a spare, I didn't care..
Hey have any you guys seen the simple rear suspension upgrade on the Pilot..a poster on hondapilot.org figured out that the MDX comes with a couple of steel braces that attach the subframe to the rear shocks or springs and apparently it makes a significant difference. The pilot does not have these braces, but there are predrilled holes to accept them..Parts run about $50, and it takes 30 mins or so.. Here is a link: http://www.hondapilot.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14481
Has anyone added armrests to Pilot front seats? Does anyone know if Odyssey front seat armrests will mount to the Pilot front seat frames? Has anyone seen or have photos of a Pilot seat frame and/or a disassembled seat? Are there any service manual illustrations available showing Pilot seat assemblies?
Online eStore Parts Catalog illustrations do not show enough detail. Possible installation problem would be interference with lumbar support adjustment.
Sorry for the long delay...I got the all season ones and they are great. I could have gone with a generic but I wanted to splurge a little. Call me crazy.
Forgive my ignorance here but I have solved this problem by leaving the lights "on" all the time. They turn off automatically when the engine is turned off. Does this hurt the car in any way?
was thinking about getting a Pilot and the one thing that really bothers me - is the trend by Honda (and even BMW) to go with red turn signals on the rear.
Does anyone know if there are aftermarket lights to convert a Pilot's rear lights back to the safer Amber Turn signals
Its a well known fact that flashing red turn signals are momentarily confused with braking, and this contributes to hesitation and accidents. Or if the brake pedal is pumped - it may be confused with a turn signal (vise versa)
Are there pilots sold overseas - maybe amber turn signal lenses are available overseas?
I was looking online at changing out my rear lenses to ones with amber turn signals. The only problem I can see with the rear amber lenses is that when you turn on your lights (running or full spread) your taillights BOTH light up (top & bottom). Then when you hit your brakes, the bottom light will get brighter, but the top still stays lit as normal, the Turn signal will only cause the top light to light up when you turn on the signal to make a turn or have your hazards on. So even if we switch out the lenses, the amber lense will stay lit until the turn signal is turned on.
I was thinking about this myself. Maybe a single filament yellow bulb? They used to make them, but I haven't had a vehicle that took one in a long time.

I know you can onyl have from the factory with a choice of only ONE or the other ( Nav or RES).
Can anyone tell me WHY ???
The dealer tried to sell me an aftermarket Nav system by Eclipse and claimed it was better than the factory Nav.
But if you can add an aftermarket Nav system.... why can't you add an original FACTORY Nav system to a Pilot that has the RES ?
Has anyone here added either an aftermarket, third party Nav system OR a Honda Factory Nav system to the pilot that has a RES ?
Thanks, Tim
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Pilot lacks a display that tells how many miles you have left and what mileage you're getting (without the navi option)"
The way I understand this comment is that you can track your MPG and miles until empty if you have the Nav system.
Is this true??? I can't find anything verifying this in my instruction book for the Nav system. Thank you in advance for any info.
BTW - this is my first Pilot and I am truly "IN LOVE". What a great vehicle !!!!!

If you replace them with a single high power filament, they would only turn on when using a turn signal function
