That's a great deal. Was the Financing and rebate Combination available to all Honda Dealers or was that just something that particular dealer offering?
  • dolsey01dolsey01 Member Posts: 92
Just came back from the dealer, bought a 2007 EX-L with NAV

    MSRP $36040

    Paid $30,400 + TTL at 4.9% for 60 months

Went in to buy a regular EX-L for 28,400 but since they are honoring the special financing along with the dealer cash for the President's day sale, figured why not splurge on the NAV.

KBB trade in value on a similar 2006 model is only 1K less.

I did not really intend on buying a new car for awhile, but this deal is too good to pass up.

Chandler111 - congratulations on your new car purchase! I used your price as my target/ballpark and requested quotes from area dealers (feb 15) starting with ansjoe's list thanks ansjoe). Once I started the process, I wanted it to END because of all the calls and emails! In the end, we got 31,083 OTD for the EX-L and the 0.9 financing from Landmark Honda. I think we paid about 500 more than you did, but still happy that this is over and pleasantly surprised at how relatively painless it was do do transactions over email and phone. Plus, my daughter is so happy to finally have a car (she gets my husband's 6-yr old Santa Fe) and is at my beck and call these days! I know this too shall end but life's good for now :)

    Firehorse,

The offer you got is $27,300 for EXL-2WD with 0.9 finacing or is it (27300+1500)with 0.9 percent financing?
  • graftonpilotgraftonpilot Member Posts: 1
    I believe I got a deal on my 07 EX-L AWD:

$28,500 plus TTL with .9 financing and a free iPod Music Link

This was a dealer mistake though. When I was quoted the $28,500 number I specifically got it in writing that the $1,500 cash back was not included and I could get the .9 financing. The salesman put it writing and then handed me off to another salesman to close the deal later that day. They told me later that the price quoted was with the $1500 cash back but the decided to eat the mistake rather than see me leave pissed (which I would have since I specially asked about it). Anyway, sounds like I got a good deal.

Also I decided to buy new because after looking around for a few weeks it seemed impossible to buy a low mileage '06 and even if I could with the .9 financing the cost for the new model was just about the same over the life of the loan.

Are these goods deals on 07 Pilot EX 4WD?

all quotes are before tax 9%, title, license, doc fee ($200-241)

    Castle Honda 27664 with 0% for 36months

    or

    Napleton Honda 26800 with 0.9% for 36m,

(this is cheaper by about 700 over the 3yrs)

is their a better deal to be had in the Chicagoland area?

any input would be appreciated, thanks

Also, what are your thoughts on cloth seats, my dad suggested i should get leather in it, i have them on my 01 accord, it is nice, but this is 2k more with heated seats and sunroof.
Are cloth seats fine? or is leather the only way to go, i will be having kids soon, so that will play in my consideration....

I have been quoted $29,044 for the 2007 Pilot EX-L w/NAV system. Out the Door comes to 32,121 with me finding financing through my credit union at either 5.7% or 6.45%. Is this a good deal? The original dealer who quoted this does not have it in stock but says they will get it for me. They want me to give them a security deposit or something around $500 to secure from another dealer. I am leary of doing this as I intend to test drive the pilot I intend to buy before signing on the dotted line. It appears that each pilot is very different with any number of various possible problems. I have had one dealer who does have the color choice in stock say they will match the price if I bring in the other quote. All I have is an email saying this, is there some kind of formal quote form I should be getting?

Also is the EX-L w/Nav really worth it?
  • dolsey01dolsey01 Member Posts: 92
2WD or 4WD? The price you were quoted is $1963 below dealer invoice for a 4WD (Factoring in dealer cash) so it seems pretty good. You should be able to get 3.9 - 4.9 through Honda Finance for 60 months even with the dealer cash back. I just paid 30,400 + TTL for my 4WD EX-L with Nav with 4.9 for 60 months. Is Nav worth it? Well not really but it's cool and the backup camera is nice along with all the voice activate controls. I figured I would have this truck for 5-7 years so why not splurge.

    Boston area... PILOT EX-L 4WD w/o Nav $28,880

    this can be beat, right???
  • soxfanzsoxfanz Member Posts: 15
If that is OTD price, it is a good deal. Otherwise, you should be able to get a better deal. I bought one exact same car a month ago from Clair Honda for $28565 OTD (contract price + preccessing fee + reg fee + 5% Mass tax). You should be able to get it at least at $27500 for contract price.

:confuse: Sorry-2WD. This afternoon another dealer offered out the door of $31,740 even after they secure it elsewhere. This is by far the lowest I have seen anyone pay for the 2WD EX-L w/Nav. I am currently trying to go with a family members credit union that has a rate of 4.7%. btw-I use maps daily in my job so I intend to write most of the price of the navi off as it will save me from buying new maps for a few years. Plus backup camera will come in handy in tight spots. So I ask again is 2wd EX-L w/NAV for out the door of $31,740 a good deal? Thanks again!
  • pat33ewpat33ew Member Posts: 3
I was able to buy a 07 Pilot, EX-L RES for $29,888.00 with a trade-in valued at $14,000. Jeep Limited 04 4WD w/43k miles. It was worth 15,600.00 so I guess they took it off the sale price. is this a good deal?
  • dolsey01dolsey01 Member Posts: 92
I would say it depends on how much competition is around your area and what your tax rate is. I'm in the Boston area so there are 15 Honda dealers within 25 miles. I only shopped three, and actually only got pricing from two and bought from the one closest to my home.
If you factor invoice price - $1500 dealer cash plus the 3% factory hold back you should be able to get this truck for $29,200 + Tax Title License. I paid $31,400 OTD for my 4WD with NAV, so the 2WD should be approx 2K less. Hope this helps.
  • beachbum2beachbum2 Member Posts: 3
Sounds like a good deal to me but I live in a small town with only 1 dealer I think their name is TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT I had to drive 3 hours to get $30,720+TTL that did include all destination fees and all processing fees OTD is hard to compare because every state & county have different tax rates and 1-3% on $30,000 can really add up but is a cost of life.My Pilot is coming direct from factory on the 23rd I'm sure they would deal on stocked cars.Best of luck with your purchase.

I'll like to trade-in a 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid with an outstanding financed balance of $24,000 for a 2007 Honda Pilot LX priced at $29,000 sticker price. The Accord was appraised at $19,000 by Carmax and at $17,000 by the local Honda dealer here in Orlando,Fl. The best offer I got was $510.00 a month for 66 month lease and $2,000 down payment. Could this be a reasonable offer considering that my credit score is 760?
    Thank you,
    Edgar

To all, does this sound like a good price for this car? They are also throwing in all-season floor mats..wow. I also am trading in a 04 jeep, good to new condition, 43k miles, 14k wholesale price. also, this includes the 1500 cash to dealer with 4.9% for 60months
  • beachbum2beachbum2 Member Posts: 3
Go with the leather seats better resale value plus with kids they clean up easy.
  • castle888castle888 Member Posts: 17
    Thanks

just went to dealer to check out the interior, cloth seats didnt look that great, the civic cloth seats looked of higher quality, leaning toward leather seats now, thanks

best price so far for EXL 4WD is 29939 with 0% for 36m

Just got a purchase price of 26,903 before tax, doc, and MV. OTD price is 28,200. How does this sound to anyone? Dealership is Paramus Honda in New Jersey. Please respond.
  • castle888castle888 Member Posts: 17
is that a 4wd, cloth seats, the best i price in Chicago i have received was 26800 before tax, title and lic
  • lawnmowerlawnmower Member Posts: 35
Yes-2007 EX AWD. I made a miscalculation on the sales tax. Negotiated price 26,903+1,883 NJ sales Tax+129.00 Doc Fee+ About 80-100 MV fee= 29,000 OTD. However, if I were to do this deal I would offer a little less. I never take first offer. Right now the invoice on this vehicle with destination is 28,867. If you minus the 1,500 + the holdback (900.00) it is being sold 1,964.00 below invoice. Anyone please respond.
  • castle888castle888 Member Posts: 17
it depends, are u using the 0.9 for 36m or 3.9 for 48 or 60m, that will play into consideration.. If you provide your own financing, u might be able to get it alittle cheaper...

I secured back up financing thru my credit union at 5.9% for up to 48m, compare 5.9 to 0.9 over 3yrs 20k loan, ur paying 300 total interest on 0.9 vs roughly 1800-2300 total interest on 5.9...
you have to weigh your options out, im in the same boat, the cloth seats didnt impress me, im considering the leather interior now...
  • lawnmowerlawnmower Member Posts: 35
If I purchase I will be providing my own financing. Besides dealer said if special financing is used the 1,500 gets taken off price. Not sure if that is true. Any help?
  • lawnmowerlawnmower Member Posts: 35
Am I to understand that if Honda applies the 1,500 dealer cash toward the purchase of a new Pilot, they will not honor the special financing. I was under the impression that the dealer cash has nothing to do with the financing. Can someone please explain the "real terms". Thanks.
  • ezfreshezfresh Member Posts: 6
well, yes you are correct. special financing as far as the 0.9% apr would not apply if you took the 1500 dealer cash. However, you still could get 4.9% apr (60mo) and I believe 3.9% on 36 mon
I think it's a wash. 0.9% vs $1500. 4.9% is still good. I called AAA and they couldn't match that (over 6% on a loan for under 25k and 5.49% on unde 25k).
  • ezfreshezfresh Member Posts: 6
AWD vs. 4WD...people keep using this interchangeably, but there is a difference. From what I understand, there is NO-AWD on a pilot. just 2wd/4wd. Can someone either confirm or deny this, please?
  • castle888castle888 Member Posts: 17
You are correct, 2wd or 4wd, an AWD auto would be a Subaru, all wheels spinning at all times

Honda has real time 4wd, rears only kick in when you need it.
My mom has a Highlander, its all wheel drive, but it drives like its stuck to the pavement, meaning, super grip to the road.

Just ready to buy a 2WD Honda Pilot 2007 EX-L. The best price I quoted is 29566.56 as OTD. My friend suggested me to buy a 4WD instead of 2WD. I am in Atlanta, GA. Any advice on 2WD or 4WD? How much should I add on for 4WD based on 2WD price? Thanks! Roy
  • dblmdblm Member Posts: 3
In my opinion, 4WD would probably be a waste in ATL unless you are taking it off-road or way up north. FYI, I am in ATL too and shopping an EX-L. I have a drive-out price at $29,753 (from Hennessey, Fulton County 7% tax). From which dealer is your offer? What is your county tax?
  • roy04roy04 Member Posts: 8
I think so. The dealer is Carey Paul Honda. I assume you are talking about 2007 Pilot 2WD EX-L without NAV and DVD. I will check out your dealer too.
  • willyozwillyoz Member Posts: 8
This is too funny. Seems like everyone is Atlanta is shopping for a Pilot right now! I am ALSO in ATL shopping around for a 2WD EX-L (no NAV/no RES). Was going to start negotiating on Monday. $27K - $27,500 before options & TTL seems to be about the ballpark right now, from what I can tell.

Any comments/tips, roy04 or dblm (or anyone else near/around Atlanta)?
  • roy04roy04 Member Posts: 8
Great! I think the promotion offer($1,500 or special financing) will end on 2/28/07. Dealers may want to give more rooms for negotiation because it is close to the end of month.
  • willyozwillyoz Member Posts: 8
Right -- hoping to strike an end of the month deal. I'll be sure to share how it goes.
  • nxschustnxschust Member Posts: 3
I've been messing around with e-mail quotes for about a week. All the EX-L 2WD quotes have been around $28150 and the EX-L 4WD have been around $29300 + tax, title and doc fee. I have to believe you can get a better price with a little negotiation in person.

Has anyone bought recently in Phoenix. Can you provide some "real" numbers.

    ezfresh-

Hi there....are you saying you got the $1500 dealer cash, and still got 4.9% for 60 months? Was this from American Honda Finance?

If this is true, anyone would be crazy to take the 3.9% 60 month financing (assuming one could then NOT also get the $1500 dealer cash; I know, I know, some people were supposedly getting both). Unless my math is wrong, you would almost always come out ahead by decreasing the price paid, and paying 4.9% vs. 3.9%.

I tried applying online for AHFC credit, to see what my rate would be, etc. But after calling them, they told me that AHFC will ONLY talk to a dealership, that they look at each case on an individual basis, blahblahblah.

I live in St. Louis, and there isn't much in the way of flexibility on Pilot price around here. If I could get $1500 AND still get 4.9%/60 month financing, I would by in the next week, ya know?

  • roy04roy04 Member Posts: 8
I was told by dealers that they will give reference fees if multiple buyers come to them. Since three of us (dblm, willyoz, roy04) want to buy Pilot at the same time, we can negotiate an even better price if we all pick the same dealer who can offer the best price.

What do you think? To willyoz and dblm.

    Roy
  • willyozwillyoz Member Posts: 8
I would certainly be willing to discuss that. Perhaps better to discuss the details over email?

I am looking for the same model (2WD EX-L, no NAV, No Entertainment). I have about 5 out-the-door quotes (Curry, Carland, Gwinnett, Hennessey, Ed Voyles). Curry was close, but Hennessey has the best deal at $27,800 (including the BS "documentation fee" but not including TTL). Hennessey also seems to be very clear about it being a final, drive-out price. I'd be happy to coordinate to leverage any buying power. We're probably about 60-70% certain we are buying by 2/28.
  • roy04roy04 Member Posts: 8
I probably choose Hennessey too. Shoot me an email so three of us can work out together and get the best deal.

I FINALLY GOT THE SUV. JUST PURCHASED A 2007 HONDA PILOT EXL 4WD IN CHICAGO, IL FOR 29,600 BEFORE TTL AND DOC, PLUS I GOT THE 0.9 FOR 36MONTHS. INVOICE IS SUPPOSEDLY 30,646 RANGE, SO NOT BAD TO GET 1000 BELOW INVOICE AND 0.9% FOR 36M. :)

No more dealing, just get to enjoy my pilot. For EX-L w/Nav 2WD, I paid 29,044 before TTL, etc. Out the door 31,740. Probably could have gotten them to go slightly lower but most of the other dealers were not responsive when I asked them to beat the out the door price.
  • sam11199sam11199 Member Posts: 6
You got out the door 29700. You mentioned here you got $1500 cash back and 3.9% financing also. But i heard either you can get 1500 cash back or 3.9 % financing? is that right? I am also planning to buy same trim EX-L 4WD.
  • sam11199sam11199 Member Posts: 6
