business.

no feelings were hurt..just couldn't understand why you would ask for help and then insult. I work at my computer (for myself) for 8-10 hours a day..so much needed breaks (and visits to this board and others) are needed to keep my mind sharp for my clients. Again, not sure why you would come to this board asking for help and insult (yet a second time). Since I ordered my first truck on Sept 9, and the second (and successful one) on Dec 29th, I have found everyone to be very helpful..I have a lot of notes from these helpful people, and they sure helped my with what options to buy, and what price to offer..
Glad to be of some help.

with them per the brochure.

Ray, can you point me in the right direction in the brochure? I can only see on page 40 where they are an option on the 1500 4X4's but standard on the 2500 4X4's (it doesn't acutally say 2500 4X4's but my dealer says that's what it means). Is it in another place where it's clearer? I'll be glad if he is wrong..we'll both know soon!thanks

Dealer in upstate NY
------------------------
Nyal, which dealer in Upstate NY did you buy from? We got ours thru DeNooyer on Wolf road in Albany. Had originally ordered from Northstar in Clifton Pk, but the price went up when the truck came in. Just passed it today (truck came in in Dec), and see it's still there..guess not too many people (sides us) want a 2WD in NY!
My next question is the current offer for the purchase price. I have three invoice prices for this vehicle with one from Edmunds. They vary just a little with the spread from high to low of about $300. Edmunds is in the middle. What surprised me was the dealers first offer (OK'd by the sales manager) was 1% over invoice (we did print THEIR invoice to verify and their invoice matched the lowest invoice of the three I had. I think my wife and I did a very good good guy/bad guy routine on him but from what I know 1% is an OK deal??? I understand about Holdback and he did include $292 advertising fee (about 1.1%). What would a good counteroffer be... I was looking forward to several iterations in the haggling process.
Thanks for Any Help

I did not mention in my first posting but Capitol is the dealership I am working with. Unfortunately I am not working with Alan...But so far I feel OK with them.
I understand about the order process better now and realize I may have to wait longer than whatever the original schedule says. I was somewhat sure of this when the salesman was giving me his "guarantee's". It's just my business nature to ask someone to put their money where their mouth is! I will check up on discounts as you indicated.
Any advice on the offer from the dealer. One thing I did not mention was that this was the dealers second offer. The first offer was for $1,000 over invoice. My immediate counter was for $1,000 under invoice (if he wants to be that way, I can to). Since his 1st offer was on the table for about 1 second before my counter I failed to mention it as being superfluous. He then talked with his Sales manager (and came back with the 1% over invoice). I talked with him about holdback and he said he did not share in that part of the pie. My feeling is that since I am ordering this truck and it will sit on their lot for maybe one day (thats some pretty healthy Inv turns!!!) I should negotiate based on this 3% instant profit. Is it true the dealer will not share in hold back? If so I can understand his reluctance to reduce the price further.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Because my deal was thru a supplier discount program, I did not need to negotiate a price. But I would say that 3% over invoice is a good deal on a hot item like the 4dr truck. I did notice that the "invoice" comparison that was generated did include a 1% adjustment which was most likely the advertising fee. So check it out carefully. You are right that the vehicle will not sit on the lot very long. The vehicle prep team gives 1st priority to ordered vehicles. Mine was ready in less than 2 hrs.
We have Holiday Rambler dealers in Malta Rt 9 (Nothway Travel) and at Campers Barn in Kingston. We sent out bid sheets to 9 others within a few hundred miles, and will be going to the Springfield trailer show this weekend.
Sorry to be so long.
they just happened to have this truck on thier lot. (1 of 2 silverados) They will sell for 500 over but I also have to pay a $75 advertising fee.
Does everyone pay this? Can someone talk me into the 245 size tires? advantages/disadvantages
What about the fog lamps? Do those of you who have them use them? Are they just for looks?
