5 years old. The 3 year old is in a car seat. Today I went to the dealer and put my kids and the car seat in the back and am questioning the
rear seat comfort. If any of you has children that are a little older say 6 to 12 would you please tell me how they like sitting back there.
Also does anyone have adults ride in the back?

Adults won't be very comfy, but it's really no worse than the back of a compact car and there is enough room to fit two adults back there if you have to. I like the CC because I think it's a lot more practicle than an extended cab. You have more lockable dry storage space and you actually can fit two people in the back in a pinch.

My son is thirteen, and he is very tall for his age, five foot nine, he fits in the back seat. He sits in back of the passenger side, because my wife is short, and we move the front seat up. He loves the Crew Cab.
My two kids are 8 and 6.I constantly ask them if they like the back seat, they love it so much. Plenty of room for the kids. They love the idea
of having there own door in and out as opposed to
our minivan. That is one of the main reason I put
interest on a crew cab, having a four door and a
decent bed for cargo.

A/T, Power Pkg, Utility Pkg, over-rail bedliner, and bed extender. As part of the deal, I had the dealer swap the bedliner for an under-rail model, install the premium CD/Cass player, and paint/install a hard tonneau cover. In essence, my truck has all 3 packages (with stereo swap) less the sunroof which is part of the Sport Pkg, plus the tonneau.
The MSRP was $24,870. The autobytel.com invoice price for a truck with all the packages was $21,797. From there the deal spun down to $20,438 + my trade ($3,000). After some additional, lengthy negotiation, they dropped to $18,438 + trade. I offered $18,750 + trade and include tonneau installation. They accepted. After doc fees, ect. total price was $18,959 + trade.
Three key points to the deal: first, I was with my girlfriend when she bought a car from the same salesman a two months prior; second, they let me "test drive" the truck for about a week, during which I put about 600 miles on it, putting them in a position to sell the truck as a demo; and third, when I went back to close the deal, my salesman wasn't there, and they screwed around for an hour and couldn't find any of his paper work, at which point I got decided to leave, and at my girlfriend suggestion, take my trade with me. As I was unloading my stuff from the truck, the GM came out and said they would do the deal at $18,750 + trade.
So ends the story, and I am now a very happy CC owner.

But the Silverado has v8, much more leg room in the back even for adults, can sit six, yes, six adults, and has a more smooth drive train than the Nissan, and a full size trunk. We all know that Chevy trucks has better resale values than Nissan.
The only things kept me from going domestic in the past were reliability and workmanship. While it is still too early to say about reliability of my Silverado, I have to admit it's built quality is as good as the Japanese these days, if not better.
So I hope Japanese truck makers wake up soon, while a once dieheart Japanses fan is sitting in a domestic full size truck and enjoying every second of it.

But seriously, I agree for smaller persons (like my wife), she still likes the feel of our 4runner. Japanese cars are better fitted for smaller sizes.
But one must admit once they were way ahead of the big three, from innovation, build quality, being trendy to offering good value, now they are behind only because the big three have come back.
I assume if someone is to buy a truck, trunk space is also important. I just can't see too much use for the Nissan CC's trunk with its size. BTW, my wife also appreciates the high sitting positions in both 4runner and silverado.
Did the over the rail liner make any marks on the paint? You're description of the blue color sounds like maybe I should drive to the dealer that they are going to swap it from and check it out. Thanks.
truck in person. The color was nice but I'm still
favoring the Silver Ice as my first choice and the Sand Dune as an alternate. The black ones look great but I don't have the time to put into the truck to keep it looking so nice. I pulled up on the edge of an over the rail liner today and I think it should be OK after removing it. I would remove yours as soon as possible because the longer it's on and the more shaking and vibration the liner may chafe the finish.

I am in Houston and got mine for about $300 less than the dealer's invoice. I wanted the 4x4 but the dealer mistakenly got 4x2 SE CC instead. I have it in Sand Dune color, darker color than this would mean clean it all the time - I am not ready for that. I was disappointed first, but all my "trucker" friends told me that I really do not need a 4x4 in TX. Since I am not going to play in mud/snow, I decided to take it. I got all the 3 packages (Power+Utility+Sports) and the bed liner/extender. Almost everyone I showed my truck liked it a lot. So far so good, except I kind of feel it's little underpower. I am not planing on doing speeding on it, so I guess it's not that bad (I kept my old car for speeding - Acura Legend 5 spd!) I would highly recommend this truck over any truck for people under 6'0'' tall. If you are taller than this (wider than normal is another story) go with the Tundra and spend the extra $$$. The things I did not like about Tundra were: 90 degree rear seat, very little leg room, too high to get in/out, rear door can not be opened without the front ones, and (the last but not least) Toyota's bland interior design. I did not like the Dakota at all, except may be for the "initial" quality of the V8 engine. Ford ranger/Toyota Tacoma, I do not think so...

I had the dealer today remove the liner from the truck before I would accept delivery and there was a scuff in the paint down both sides of the bed. My truck is black and I know its the worst color for showing scratches but I lifted the liner on a red one and a charcoal one and they both showed the same scuffs. I hope they can polish the scratches out because they are only in the clear coat. Let me know how you made out with this.
i want the front go rhino guard now, and i am thinking of mounting my spare on the roof rack so it doesn't get dirty underneath. its so comfortable, the arm rests are perfect, and its really quiet too. i'm very impressed, and glad i got the grey now too. good luck shoppers!
offset on the passenger side. I took the truck to the dealer and they said that the bed was easy to move and the difference should have been split between the two sides. They said they haven't any idea why there is a difference in width.

but some miles and a scratch, We like the Sand Dune better.

I am getting very bad gas mileage, roughly 15 MPG (I have about 1300 miles). Although my drive is mainly city, but I do go on highway sometimes. Since I have a 4x2 CC, I thought I will have 18 MPG at least. How is everyone else doing?
Somebody told me that the gas mileage increase about a mile or 2 per gallon after 3000 miles or so, is that true?
all that was needed was to loosen the bolts under the bed and push the bed from inside the wheel well and it should move right over. Then retighten and it's done. The sales manager said they don't know why the bed is narrower than the cab, but if you look at any other crew cab the difference should be divided between both sides.
All it needs to be moved is about 3/8 of an inch.
I drive about 60-120 miles daily (from Montebello, CA to Fullerton, CA; from Fullerton, CA to Santa Ana, CA; and from Santa Ana, CA to Montebello, CA).
Yes indeed, my mileage is good!!! But there is ONE thing that I am disappointed about: the alignment of my bed with my cab. I looked at my bed BEFORE reading the postings here on this site and discovered that it IS misaligned!!! The dealership will hear from me.
I have been putting premium only although the manual says I can do regular (87 octane) Does anyone know what should be the best octane/gasmileage ratio? Is anything common between better gas mileage and octane? or why put 93 octane gas versus 87 octane gas? What does the compression ratio have to do with octane level?
Any help/suggestion appreciated!
Answering your questions:
Usually a higher compression ratio engine requires a higher octane rating. Why? because the more you compress a fuel/air mixture, the hotter the temperature in the cylinder, thus a greater chance of pre-detontation. That's why cars with turbos, superchargers, and other high perfromance motors need premium fuel.
There is little if any, difference in gas mileage is using any octane, unless of course your engine is pinging like crazy. I personally use 87 octane but switch to either 89 or 92 if I'm going to tow, drive up a constant grade, and/or drive during a hot day. Anyway hope this helps.

You may want to try this one before you discredit the use of high octane fuel. I own a nissan 200 with over 100,000 miles, and have run 93 octane in it since day one. I am NOT THROWING my $$ away because I have slightly increased my distributor timing to squeeze that little extra power and mileage that is possible from my engine using 93 octane verses 87. You should be careful not to increase it much, and you will then always be required to burn the better fuel! This adjustment I made with only a 12 mm wrench, my ears, and experience in drag racing. It made the difference from 35 mpg to 45mpg on the highway, and I have MUCH greater offline performance, which was required for the anemic little 1.6 liter in the car. This should work for all vehicles that have a distributor. Simply advance it till it "pings" then back it off till it quits, then just and add a little more for a safety factor for your engine. Remember always use 93 after this or it may "ping" and cause piston wear. Hope this helps some of you with your poor mileage and power problems. If you have no clue what I'm saying, just ask anyone with a hotrod to help you.
My only problem was that I had to take the truck with an over-the-rail bedliner. All 20 trucks in stock had over-the-rail liners and the dealer was not willing to swap at the price that I paid (I really tried). Can the over-the-rail liner be trimmed to allow installation of a tonneau cover??
