I bought mine through eBay, from a person who re sells expired leased vehicles. This vehicle had over 21,000 in one year, so I guess they wanted out. The only problem I have ever had was with the gas gauge. That is really Mopar's fault, not Chrysler, other than that's where they get their parts. The replacements were defective, as you can research through Google. The dealership I use in Phoenix has been nothing short of exceptional.
Personally, I would own no other car! The automobile rides excellent, with the exception of the Gas issue, (that happen in the desert I might add) I have had no problems. Everybody loves the ride, the car has everything but 4 wheel drive. I really didn't want that anyway, as I was not going to take it places the frugal person would not take a $37,000.00 auto, and I don't get snow. (Something else to go wrong, on something used very little) I have fixed my mirrors, so I don't have any blinds pots. If I had it to do over, no questions, I buy the car!
If I had it to do again, though, I'd just get the FWD. Far better gas mileage and acceleration.
There are other vehicles I would get instead, personally, but my wife wanted 3 rows and not a minivan, so that restricts the choices quite a bit.

In my experience, Chrysler gets on the ball when you bring up safety.
Which vehicles were you considering along with the Pacifica and which did your wife prefer? I was considering the Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey but... it's a minivan, not that cool. I also considered the Chevy trailblazer and GMC Envoy but the appearance of the dash electronics sucks incredibly compared to the Pacifica. I also didn't want to sit high up in vehicle, yet wanted something more than my current mercury sable wagon.
For the last few weeks I've been going between the Pacifica and the Sienna. No the clunking and engine/motor issues I read a heardd about on the Pacifica are forcing me to reconsider again, and the I hear the Sienna's safety isn't great at all (I need to do some research on that) plus I don't want to spend over $25k on a minivan. I'd rather spend that on a Pacifica.
I don't know what to do. I might just go with a Toyota Camry and keep my wagon. I'm tired.

'05 Pacifica = 1 recall and 43 TSBs
'05 Honda Pilot = 2 recalls and 77 TSBs
'05 Chevy Trailblazer = 1 recall and 122 TSBs
'05 Ford Explorer = 2 recalls and 48 TSBs

Well, like I said, the choices are limited when the wife refuses to get a minivan. We had a Pilot for 2.5 years and really liked it. But the wife drove the heck out of it (about 55k miles in that time). The numbers worked out to where it just made sense to trade at that time.
Anyway, the honda dealers were very uncooperative when we tried to get a new Pilot. Back before we bought our Pilot, I had wanted the wife to check out the Pacifica, but she wasn't interested. For some reason, this time she was. We also had previously tried the Trailblazer on for size. It just didn't have the fit, finish, and feel of the Pilot or Pacifica. After testing the Pac, she had her mind made up. She felt it was as tight, quiet, and versatile as the Pilot, while adding all the luxury features she had been missing. We had been looking for a lightly used one, but the dealer gave us such an incredible deal on a leftover '05 (this was Sept of '05), we couldn't refuse.

And how was your list useful? What problems are you having? You didn't ask for any advice or state any issues, you merely copied and pasted a public list.
I got the list right here on edmunds. Its in their maintenance section.
I give advice when advice is requested and warranted. Most people don't ask for it here, they merely make a blanket statement that chrylsers or pacificas are garbage. Those are the posts I find annoying and I respond accordingly.
By the way, it has nothing to do with Chrysler. I respond to folks in regards to many different makes and models. Many issues are universal, and many folks have found my experience both as a mechanic and consumer useful. If you don't, that's your perogative, and you are certainly free to ignore my posts.
As far as advice for you ... as you are somewhat now giving a small hint of what you're going through ... is the same I've posted for many people and you apparently don't appreciate. The dealer is not the end of the line, they are the beginning. Go to another dealer. If that doesn't work, contact Chrysler directly.
Well you certainly are a fan of Chrysler and have obviously had a wonderful experience with their service department.
This pretty much strikes at the heart of my pet peeve. Chrylser does not have a service department. A bad dealer is a bad dealer, end of story. It has NOTHING to do with Chrysler!

You are finally giving details as to your problem and what has been done in an attempt to fix it. That's good. You are NOW posting useful info for people. Keep up the good work.
You must have me confused with someone else. I'm pretty darned sure I've never said I "love" this car ... because I don't, so I don't see myself saying it.
'11 GMC Sierra 1500; '08 Charger R/T Daytona; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c; '20 S90 T6; '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel; '97 Suzuki R Wagon; '96 Opel Astra; '08 Maser QP; '11 Mini Cooper S
It would be nice, but I kinda doubt it. I would think manufacturers would work real hard to hide those numbers.

2035 - Aug 18th - "For the last month I have had repeated failures of the fuel pumps." ... ok, is this repeated failures of the same pump? And now its getting replaced for the first time for $800? Ok, so a part failed. Big deal. It happens. [mind you, i'm just stating my reaction to this first post only, not to your whole situation ... yet]
2064 - Aug 28th - 4th NEW fuel pump. Chrysler will not address the problem (not much here ... what do you mean they won't address it? you called them? what did they say? or are you just referring to a dealer?". You say "its easier for them to keep replacing parts," so I assume you've paid nothing out of pocket and they keep trying to fix it. Yes, in the first post, you said you had to pay, but that was 10 days ago and I, as a reader, should not be expected, nor will I, go back to see if you've posted before with different information.
2069 - Aug 29th - "My dealer would not even let me see a list much less have a copy of it. Come to think of it customer service refused to even discuss the problem once they found I was 3000km past my warranty." Yet more good info. This shows how you've been treated and why you are getting frustrated. This should have been in the first post.
2073 - Aug 30th - "left my wife stranded on a highway" - yet another good bit of info to help explain your frustration. Again, once its all together, I understand why you are upset. Its just too bad I had to do all this work.
Here's the thing. You've got one problem. Is it annoying? Yes. Does it sour your owning experience? Obviously. Posting a list of TSBs of which all but one have NOTHING to do with your car is just silly. You obviously did it in some attempt to show that the list proves the car is junk.
You then got mad at me for pointing out that all vehicles have TSBs, and even vehicles considered much more reliable than Chrysler have LONGER lists of TSBs. I'm sorry, but that's not being defensive, that is just stating pure fact. So rather than posting a list of TSBs as if this somehow proves all PACs are garbage, simply relay YOUR problem in a coherent and succinct manner and you'll be much more successful in getting your grievance across to the reader.

1) How can you get Chrysler to issue a refund given a severe problem on a new car, and if so, what person do you go to at Chrysler?
2) Do you have any data on the market value of a new car vs. new car with a replaced engine? (ie, will this affect our value in a major way?)
3) Has anyone had a similar major problem, and how did you get it resolved?
In our case, we had some chugging / knocking problems at start-up and a slight scree-ing sound from the belt area. Then, while driving along on vacation in Ohio, the belt shredded, got pulled into the crankshaft / timing gears, threw off the timing 6 points and damaged valves and pistons.
So far, Chrysler has helped some, but it's been a bit of a run around. The out of town dealer in Ohio was nice, but took 4 days to determine it needed a new engine. Our dealer in Minnesota said they'd do everything possible to help, but so far is waiting for more information before they contact anyone at Chrysler. Chrysler has set up a file and is evaluating the possible refund. Meanwhile, the Ohio dealer has involved the Chrysler District Manager, and appears to be going through the process of installing a new engine. With a post-factory engine job, we're not confident this car will ever work right once they get it "fixed".
Given the $ millions Chrysler spends on advertising, it seems like a simple process to refund our money and sell the old car at auction, costing them a $ few thousand at the most.
Any ideas on where to go / how to get resolved? Thanks very, very much!
Talking about Chrysler hiding problems they don't want to fix ... does this violate Edmunds policies ?
I didn't get an email explaining why my post was deleted.

btw, the donut magnet.. does it automatically put the computer into calibration mode or do you need to have that up on the menu first. I can probably come up with a magnet from work to do this if I need to.

My mpg also has gone up at least 3mpg since raising the pressure. I'm currently running about 38psi.
NO payment was made, Chrysler will gladly pick up the tap I think!. I know the Dealer will not, thats for sure.
The Pac is too smooth running again. :shades:
I do like the handling at the higher pressures though.
When I put the gear shift to drive or autostick it revs up beyond 2500 rpm without any hesitation and the car drives just fine.
Anybody know if this is what it is supposed to do?
--Arrie--
i guess they figure it protects it somehow.

Same but with computer control.......good idea
Keeps someone....(hint) from blowing up the motor.
It already has a rev limiter to protect the engine ... it is at red line.
but, no, i don't necessarily need to rev past 2500 sitting still. I only discovered it when trying to jump a dead battery.
