All is well, the VOPC is back on line. Still giving me the same week-old message though. They need some of those little hand held computers that USP or FEDEX uses to update status real-time.
  • porkyporky Member Posts: 83
For several weeks my message @ VOPC has been -- "as of Nov.12 your vehicle has a build date,-- week of Nov.8 and delivery date,--week of Dec.6". Should I expect an updated message next week, Nov.15----????????
I would also like to track my vehicle once it is turned over to the rail system. What were the instructions for getting that accomplished???
Please, would someone be so kind as to re-post that information.
As always, thanks to everyone for their help and advise.
SHOTGUN1: Just a question--- are you decoding your last 8 digits of the VIN NO. properly?? ie. 8 digits suddenly turn into 11 digits when done right on the VOPC system. I'm assuming the same procedure is in effect on the rail tracking system.

    rbw69,
My experience with any extended warranty from anyone besides the manufacture has not been good. It seems that loopholes are more important than customer service/satisfaction to these other companies. I am buying a Y2K CC/PS/Lariat/LB/4X4 which is to be delivered this week. I do not intend to buy any extended warranty since the motor is warrantied for 100,000 miles. If I were to purchase one, it would be from Ford.

    bfriesen, Thanks for the reply

I wasn't aware that the PSD came with the 100k warranty. I have been told that since I am going with the Automatic transmission that the extended coverage was probably a good investment.
  • jraskejraske Member Posts: 131
check with your car insurance about ext, warranty for your truck,I have Gieco ins and for only a few dollars a month I get a 100.000 mile bumper to bumper warranty which covers everything not just the engine which is what you get from Ford with PSD.
I'm getting a F350 PSD but for a few dollars more I'll have the extra coverage. believe me it came in handy on my last truck. Hope this helps>

I have a 99 F250 SD CC SB V10 with the old style trailer tow mirrors. Just for grins I went down to my local dealer where I got the truck earlier to take a look at the telescoping TT mirrors. I have had the thought to change out the mirrors if the new style give an advantage on width. From what I can see on the 9 or 10 SDs on the lot the difference on my old TT mirrors and the telescoping mirrors pushed in doesn't seem great. I do like the adjustable wide angle bottom mirror vs. my fixed version. Looks like the mirrors go out wider than my fixed TT mirrors, but don't collapse any further. Any thoughts on the difference?

disappointed here outside of Mangold Ford who never returned my call referred in previous post I really do not recall any Midwest reference for a dealer that gives a good deal and offers the notorious DORA - what gives - is Gator Ford the one and only - thats my impression anybody buy in Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois (Mangold not returning request for info)Indiana there must be somebody out there in the Midwest - or are all the Midwest dealers just writing out orders that will never be delivered - I am confused!
  • tom18tom18 Member Posts: 89
If I sign the deal with an authorized Ford dealer in business many years - who checks out with the local better business bureau and I buy my truck in November and am willing to wait because I do not have a problem waiting - will I eventually (6-8 months) get the dang truck? Be honest - be brutal I can handle it ?

myself and my friend both ordered trucks from anderson ford in clinton il. we both got $100 over invoice. both of us got our dora's. my truck from order to delivery took just over 3 weeks.these guys deal alot of trucks. if you need any more information about this dealer let me know.
  • gossamargossamar Member Posts: 106
...tom18, I apologize for the "rudeness" of Mangolds, I expected a litte bit more professionalism(?) out of them. I will admit, I did have to return a few phone calls, but then again, I only have so much patience! The dealer kermode spoke of is also a good dealer. It is only about 1/2 from where I live. If you do decide to make the trek down here to central ILL, let me know if you need assistance with any lodging, directions, etc...
RBW69...I did purchase an extended warranty from FORD. Like the truck, these are also negotiable in pricing. The original quote from the finance guy was $1250.00, I told him $1000.00, we settled on $1027.00 for an extended 4-year 70,000 mile LEVEL 4-GOLD. This is the top warranty you can get from them.
Kermode, not sure if I asked you where you live before or not, but how far from clinton do you live...I live in Normal. I am also jealous that you were able to get your truck for $100.00 over invoice. The best they told me when I checked with them was $400.00. They also were about $2000.00 off of the trade-in value I got for my car from Mangolds.
Seen something rather obscene this week. It would appear one of our 'brothers' has some excess cash burnig a hole in his pocket and did not think that a stock truck standing 7-foot tall was big enough. This guy has added about a 9-inch lift kit to his rig, a 99 F350 V10 4x4. The bottom of the door sills are at about my chest level..I'm 5'7". Must say it is quite a sight going down the road.

    rbw69,
With the PSD, only the engine is warranted for 100k miles, not the rest of the powertrain or truck. The folks on ford-diesel.com will confirm this if you want verification..

    Tom18,
I'm fairly sure that any dealer (no matter how poor they are), will give you the order number if you order the truck from them.. If your willing to wait 6months (and it sounds like you are), then I wouldn't be too hung up with who you order from.. In fact, you should pick the dealer who your most likely to take it to for normal service.
If you order your truck from a ford dealer, you will get it. The only reasons to search different dealers are: a. allotment (so you can try to get it quicker), b. service c. price
The dealer wants your money, you'll get your truck.. Ford is better about this than chevy/dodge folks..
In mid 99, chevy just up and told several folks who had trucks on order that they didn't get them made for 99, so they'd have to resubmit their order for 2000 (starting from ground 0).
Ford however, kept the line going, and customers who ordered 99's got automatically bumped up to 2000's without loosing their place in line, no price increase either.

    Slos:
Your right, the telescoping TT's only go in 2" or so from 'standard' position.. This is still 1" wider than the regular (non TT), mirrors.

It appears that the design point of the telescoping feature is mainly to go much wider to handle the large campers/trailers better, not to go narrower to fit in your garage better..
  • bfriesenbfriesen Member Posts: 13
Its true, the 100k warranty is only on the motor. I am considering a Ford extended warranty.
My last p/u was a 84 f250 sc/ diesel. The dealer sold me an extended warranty that was bumper to bumper. It was NOT a Ford Warranty. I did not read my paperwork well enough. When I went to make a claim, the company had gone bankrupt and left me with the repair costs. The dealer from El Paso where I bought it refused to help.

    gossamar,

Was that a total of 4 years from new or after the 3 year/36 mile warranty? I assume that for $1027 that it was from new.

There is a dealer in Anson, Texas that will sell any Ford or Chevy for $100 over invoice. Lawrence Hall Chevrolet or Lawrence Hall Ford. They take orders over the phone and have sold vehicles all over the country. I bought my 97 Suburban LT from them with no trouble at all. I would have bought my F250 there except that I have a brother who works for Ford and I was able to buy locally on the A-plan....
  • lewaclewac Member Posts: 151
knew "someone" had ordered from your general locale. may want to follow up on dealer mentioned by Kermode. sincerely wish you luck as I'm certain the whole ordering process scenario has been quite exhausting (it was for most of us... but you've got to do what you've got to do to get your truck at a reasonable price & time period... and dealers trying to "push" people around because they want to make a frikking fortune on every truck can pound a whole bunch of "sand" for all we care).. hang in there.. the SD (configured EXACTLY how you want it) WILL be worth the wait!

All... yep. the VOPC is back up. note that when the thing goes down & you still get thru to them you may have a bogus message. that's what happened to us. our truck still locked to build week 11/22 (the "as of" date has been moved to ll/22 though, which is different from past status so looks as though they've updated the system).

think the TT telescoping mirrors are designed to sight a little further out than the non-telescope. they're a later design & probably took in the fact that most coaches built nowadays are 8' 6" wide (called "wide body" in the RV industry). just my .02 worth.
  • gossamargossamar Member Posts: 106
..On the telescoping mirror isssue, refer back to #123 in this posting. I took some measurements across the truck with both the mirros extended and telescoped in. The telescoping distance out from the "in" position was 3". 9-feet sticks in my mind the width of the truck with both mirrors extended.
Bfriesen, let me correct myself....the warranty was purchased at FORD, but is actually administered from NORTH AMERICAN WARRANTY SERVICES, INC. The term starts AFTER the 3/36 warranty from FORD runs out. Basically, my truck is covered for the next 7-years or 70,000 miles. I wish the $1027.00 was broken down over 7-years, but alas only 4-years. That is still roughly $250.00 per year or about $21.00 per month during that 4-years. I did some checking on the 'net and a similiar contract was running $900.00. I believe there is a 'chat' topic about warranties in this group somewhere, that is where I found the information on websites selling extended warranties.
Just filled my 3rd tank....9.5mpg, all in town driving. Also took the monster to the local truck stop to weigh it.....6680#'s, with 3/4 tank gas, two people....EGAD!!!! It was interesting to note that with a V-10, there was 3860# on the front part of the truck!! Explains the mileage....

#599 and #602 refer to dealer in Illinois mentioned by Kermode - who is this? Is this Mangold?

Thanks to Bess for confirming that I would eventually get a truck if I signed and deposited my money and was willing to wait - I almost purchased on Saturday - three dealers are in my price range one is a truck only dealer but I got hung up on the DORA requirement with the dealer that I wanted to go with and I did not feel comfortable making the deal until I had my questions answered on this service - I feel much better and thank everyone for the input - I will continue my search tomorrow

This may sound like a dumb question, but is the price of a Ford warranty is negotiable? Thanks
  • bessbess Member Posts: 972
Everything is negotiable.. (even the price for the can of coke at the corner store)..
More seriously, I would think the warranty price is negotiable. It would be interesting to find out how much the dealership paid for the warranty.. Remember the extended warranties are usually not FoMoCo, but through some other company..

    Warranty story:
My 99 windstar had to have a rear oil seal replaced in the engine, after it took the dealership a week to figure out where the leak was comming from. I was very annoyed at the defect and asked the Ford Customer Service 1-800 number, which I called every day after waiting 2 days with no dealer status, that the standard 3/36 warranty be extended since I no long have confidence that the vehicle is sound..
At the time I made the request, the source of the leak had still not been found and it had been a week.

Well, a dealer service rep of some type, called me in reference to the request I made to the Customer Service about extending the warranty, and told me they can not under any circumstances do that..
Yeah, he was a jerk too.. However, before I could make more calls to complain, the service advisor (in the garage) called to say my vehicle was ready to be picked up, and that the regional rep approved extending my warranty to 4yrs/75000 miles, and I received the paperwork to confirm this a week later.

Ok, I diverged.. Morals of the story:
    - I think there is some flexibility in warranties
    - If you have problems, be sure to call the Ford Customer service 1-800 number.. You'll be convinced that they are doing NOTHING to help you, BUT they are documenting EVERYTHING you say, and if you make reasonable requests, they do respond.
    - There's at least one jerk-head working at every dealership in some capacity.. (Ask crazyelvis about his favorite person at a dealership). But for every jerk, there are several folks who want to help you and do the right thing.

Sorry to clog up the board with my long posts.. If my truck would finally arrive, I'd leave ya'll alone..

Hi. I keep reading about how you are all tracking your truck. My dealer has given me a number to use but I can't figure out what site to go to. Can anybody help????
  • kermodekermode Member Posts: 17
My truck PSD, 6sp SC SWB 4X4 has 2400 miles on the odometer. Picked it up 10/9 ordered 9/10. So far mileage has been about 18 mpg, a mixture of highway and city driving. I have been using Stanadyne or equivalent from day 1. The engine appears to be running very smoothly. I cannot detect any of the cackle or knock that has been talked about at great length. Without the diesel additive the engines seems to be more noisy. Love the turbo whistle and the reaction from other drivers. Ford has a winner with this truck.
  • paull1paull1 Member Posts: 65
There is much info available here in past posts, but the easiest way to find out is to go to www.ford-diesel.com and go to FAQ#2, there is a whole step by step process there. (A search on "VIN" from the main page will get you there also).

For those of you looking to track your baby via rail transport try http://my.uprr.com/pub/pet/ if you have a rail car number. I found mine but it was only current as of 11/3, you may have better luck. The dealer should be able to provide you with the rail car number.
  • gossamargossamar Member Posts: 106
...The price was negotiable for me. As stated earlier, the original price the finance guy shot me was $1250.00, I told him I would give him $1000.00, then we settled on the $1027.00 after some back and forth haggling. As Bess had stated, sure everything is negotiable, you just have to go get it and be firm in your negotiations!! Tell them up front you know that this price is subject to reduction, however, this might be something you want to get in writing first!! I did and had it put on the original contract right next to the invoice price of the truck with the $500.00 over invoice I was to pay. Good luck with your haggling......

This is my first post. I've been reading all of the other posts for several weeks now and want to thank all of you for the valuable information. I ordered a 250sd/cc/v10/swb/4wd/lariat the second week of September and have a "scheduled for build" during the week of 11/29 as of 11/04 according to VOPC. This is my first Ford purchase and the wait has been almost more than I can stand. Sold my Toyota T-100 4x4 way too early and had to go through 2 deer seasons with a classic '59 Chevy 2wd truck. From what I have read on this board the wait will have been worth it.

In the past the VOPC would recognize my VIN #, now it doesn't. It will only give info using the order#. Anybody know why?

Wife made me go to Mexico for two weeks for sun, sand, surf, corona, etc. Sure missed this web site ... had a couple hundred entries while I was gone.

The most interesting posts were responses to "chrispal" as to why have LS with 4x4.

Let me see if I got this right: If I order a 4x2, I get one wheel drive .... If I order a 4x4, I get two wheel drive .... If I order limited slip with 4x4, I get three wheel drive ..... If I order a dually, I get two wheel drive .... If I order a dually with LS I get 4 wheel drive .... NOW .... If I order a dually with LS and 4 wheel drive is it called a 6x4 and has 5 wheel drive???

Sorry about the nonsense .. just couldn't resist!

Ordered 250 SD CC Lariat short bed 4x4 v-10 auto loaded 9/25. VOPC now says it is sheduled to be built week of 12/6. Bought from Reynolds Ford in Norman Oklahoma for $49 under invoice which also includes $49 paperwork fee. (Although I did have a state fair $200 coupon from the dealer.)

Got a car prices quote from local dealer via internet - contacted Sharon Law at Anderson Ford Mercury today - now arranging to get a Fax sent with quote - checked local dealers with Better Business Bureau - ones interested in check out too. Question do you get your title on pickup date of vehicle - when purchasing out of state ? - In Wisconsin you have two days after purchase to produce the title and pay your state tax (for me 5.6% of purchase price) at your local Department of Transportation office - You then get your permanent plates - Does this truck F350 4x4 sc long bed 158" wheelbase snowplow pkg weigh under 10,000 lbs this effects the license fee by about $40 per yr - 8-10k = $79 over 10k= $119

If I go with out of state purchase it would be about a 5 or 6 hour drive what is proper driving procedure on new vehicle - vary speed ? do not go above ? mph ? etc. please elaborate.
  • lewaclewac Member Posts: 151
Tom18... happy to hear you're getting some positive info. it's the responsibility of the dealership to get you registered once your truck arrives so you ought to be able to place this aspect in their hands. we also have about a 5 hour drive after pick up of our vehicle & will follow common sense rules. For 1st 500 miles, no towing. vary speeds & do not attempt "massive" accelerations during this period. make sure you check EVERYTHING on the truck at the dealer b4 taking possession. This will take a little while so don't be in a hurry to get out of there. finally, remember to get your config & agreed upon price IN WRITING b4 handling over your down stroke. the down stoke is considered "good faith" monies but you should also get it in writing that the deposit is refundable at any time prior to taking possession for ANY reason. finally, the deposit should not exceed 1k$. also ascertain that you will receive a copy of the DORA (with a priority OTHER THAN 99) within 2 weeks. this should not be a problem as the dealership comes recommended. these items may seem a little "demanding" but are necessary to protect YOUR interest in the deal.

I'm expecting my truck anyday now ...shipped by rail 11/5. I live in the east and beleive CSX is the rail carrier for me... I have tried their 1-800 # using my VIN but get a "no information"....is this correct or do I need
the rail car #. if so how do I get that #?
  • paull1paull1 Member Posts: 65
Your dealer should be able to furnish the rail car number, you will need it. You will also need to decode the letters to two digit numbers. See post 615. When you call select option #1. It will then ask for letters, you will enter 2 digits for each letter and then #, it will then ask for numbers, you will enter them then #, it will ask for letters again but just hit #.
  • paull1paull1 Member Posts: 65
What state are you in, I'm in RI and my VOPC message said "as of 11/7 shipped via rail carrier". Like I said before my truck is in Palmer, Mass. I'm not sure if it will be trucked from there or go one more leg via train to Ayre, Mass for trucking. I suppose our trucks could be on the same train, now that would be something.

Thanks for the help... I got some great info tonight. I found the number for vopc late last night and called on my truck today.(only to find out that I shouldn't be calling the voice #) It hasen't even been scheduled yet! I read in the info you told me about tonight about the priority level the dealer sets for my truck. I have a priority level 11. Is that good?, or should I be calling the dealer to get It bumped? Thanks agian

Folks, I've ordered a F250 SD, Regular Cab, 4x4, V-10 Lariat. I am stationed at RAF Alconbury in England, so I haven't dealt with a conventional dealer, so to speak. Instead, I ordered the truck through Overseas Military Sales Corporation. I placed the order on the 29th of October, and OMSC gave me the VIN on the 15th of November. Once the truck is built, it will be put on a ship for Bremen, Germany. For tax purposes, the truck will be registered in Germany, then later, England. I'll pick the truck up in Bremen, and bring it back on a ferry across the English Channel. I thank all of you folks that have posted your knowledge and expertise on Ford's ordering system. OMSC estimated delivery in Bremen around the end of February. Seeing where the VIN has been issued already, I may see the truck sooner than that. I look forward to driving probably the only SD in England!

    Regards,

    Ray Wilson

I read somewhere on www.ford-diesel.com that 99.5 PSDs and later have the new injectors. If you go there and search for injectors you could probably find the post again.

Has anyone got a quote on the extended warranty with the psd? I would think it would be less expensive since the engine is already covered.

I had my first problem with the truck at 419 miles on it and I was 100 miles from home.I came out after eating and the truck would not start. All it would do is just click. The battery was good from the lights were nice and bright I knew.Called the tow truck and tried to jump start,no help.Towed it 100 miles to the dealer where I bought it and found out the wiring to the starter was completely loose. The service rep. said that was the second one he had with the same problem.Everybody might want to check the wiring at the starter so they have no surprises one day.

The $3,175 quote is on a PSD. Here are other specs on the truck. 2000 F350 DWR 4x4 4sp Auto.

Thanks for the rail tracking info...my dealer hasn't been able to get the railcar # yet but claims to be trying...we'll see....I live in Virginia, so I doubt our trucks are on the the same train, but who knows they may be taking the long route...sort of like going around your [non-permissible content removed] to get to your elbow.
  • gossamargossamar Member Posts: 106
WOW....to me that seems a bit high. Get on the net and do a search of automobile warranties. I think that you might be able to find something quite a bit cheaper even with the PSD. Look elsewhere in the edmunds "chat" topics. I am sure I seen some information on warranties and a few websites. Worth checking out....
  • rbw69rbw69 Member Posts: 17
Gossamar, thanks for the input. I plan on doing a lot of price and coverage comparisons before I make a decision. I understand that you can delay purchase of the extended warranty for up to 18 months without experiencing any downside on price or benefits.
  • lewaclewac Member Posts: 151
is that the dealer Kermode recommended? if they guarantee IN WRITING that you will not wait more than 16 weeks you could consider the deal if you don't mind waiting that long. I don't think it is legal for a dealer to keep your deposit (definitely would not agree to it as anything can happen in life), though. one of the reasons I'd not agree to them keeping the downstroke is that the dealer is not going to get "stuck" with a vehicle that is this high in demand (regardless of configuration). also not agreeing to giving you DORA info (b4 you make the initial deal) indicates lack of current allocation. remember that a price even below invoice doesn't mean squat if you can't get the truck you "ordered", ORDERED (or ordered & then "ignored" by Ford due to no current dealership allocation for your config) in a reasonable time period. I'd approach the scenario like this: IF the dealer will guarantee a 16 week delivery (what do they "give" you if they don't... your deposit back?.... you've then "lost" another 16 weeks and they've lost nothing) AND you don't mind waiting almost twice as long as most of us; then go ahead. I'd get lifetime oil changes on the truck if it's not delivered on time & I'd get that in writing (& transferable to a dealership of your choice). Personally; I'd be willing to pay a little more & go with a dealer with guaranteed allocation & no "jacking around" & therefore would not take this deal. for one; I'd have more confidence in the business ethics of the dealership (btw... the BBB opinion doesn't mean squat either... guess who pays the BBB?) if they're "upfront" with their dealings. having guaranteed access to that DORA info means they can NOT "jack you around" once they have your order & downstroke (and more importantly; they KNOW this). Any REPUTABLE dealership will agree in writing (if you request it) to give you a copy of the DORA. they then know that YOU know something about their business & are willing to share at least some of that knowledge in regards to something that is both expensive & very important to you... YOUR TRUCK! finally; if they refuse to guarantee DORA info ask if they will allow you to view (or fax you a copy of) their current allocation information (it is updated weekly & some dealers that are particularily "savvy" in regard to customer relations even POST this information "publically" in their showroom). note though, that the holidays are around the corner & the plant shutdowns will probably affect delivery somewhat... you'd probably have to add a couple of weeks to most orders being done now because of this. kind-of works in the dealers "favor" if they're otherwise short on allocation. even so; 16 weeks minimum is still excessive (for us, too much so... for you?) I'd continue looking around & would not hesitate to look further "out" if necessary. remember that as you increase your radius even just a little you bring considerable more real estate (search area) into the picture. also, you can do more research reviewing past messages on this board (and the prior SD Cont'd archived board). finally; read post #588 in archived SD Cont'd. Dave84 hits "it" dead on.

    wish you luck.

Kgrantc... right behind you! truck being born NEXT WEEK! can't wait either, and unfortunately we still have some of "it" to do (waiting, that is).

saw a config similar to ours the other day (except LB & auto tranny). boy is "it" a BIG pickup! must stand a foot taller than our current incarnation (92 Chev 2500) & the thing is so wide (dually) it can not be parked in a single parking place, no way. psd too. it even sounded "bad". REAL, REAL "bad"! still don't see many SD's on the road in our area regardless of config. you see big Dodges, Chevy's, and lots of 1/2 tons. but not many SD's. this was an early build 99 & he was having tranny problems with it (or maybe what he "thought" were "problems" as it seemed to drive away okay to me).

Crazyelvis... you still driving that "free" truck? how are you & the "beast" getting along? ours gets born next week then the "fun" really begins

Still driving that "free truck" until tomorrow...I am glad to hear that you won't have to deal with Mike....What a Boneheaded Jerk!!!!! First I have internet financing through Nations Bank....I go in 5 days before I pick up the truck, to pay for it before the check expires. I explain that he needs to deposit the check within two days...plus fax some info to the bank asap....and I give him the fax number and instructions...WRITTEN DOWN!!!..He fails to do this...depositing the check over a week later.....of coarse it bounces...since it has expired....and I don't find out until a week later.....So when ol' MIKE calls....I said..I will call Nations Bank and get another check overnighted.....He asks what rate I got....7.3 I said...."oh I can get 6.9 from Ford Credit...I said great...mail me the papers and I will sign the deal.....he says ...sure you will have them tomorrow...since I am overnighting them to you...They get here two days ago!!!!! A week and a half later.....Now the papers are from Sun Trust Bank...at 7.37% and an extra $88.55 added for Doc Stamps.....WHAT THE HELL IS THIS.....I say calmly...and I get so much smoke blown up my *ss that I can't stand it anymore.....Called Don Dithmer Sr. at Gator Ford....He is a BIG BOSS from what I can tell......After I talk to him and explain that I am driving a truck that I am sure they would like to get payed for.....since they payed my trade off......I get a call five mins. later from MIKE.....6.9%...no $88.55.....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....I feel better now....except that I don't have a free truck anymore!!!!!!!
Oh...and by the way.....the truck is running smooooooooooooooooth!! I've got about 2500 miles on it so far....still getting about 12.5 city and as for hwy....I haven't been doing much hwy....last hwy tank....mixed with city was around 13.8......in that range.....
Good luck with everything from here on in lewac....and steer clear of MIKE aka the idiot!!!

Does anyone know what is going on with the VOPC? I don't get the Computer options that I normally get. I get put on hold for the next available assistant.

Yes, it's down and I don't know why. Just remember not to talk to anyone. Let's hope they don't change the number.

I park my dually in single parking spaces all the time. Although the duallys are intimidating initially, you get use to them. People get concerned about driving in busy traffic. The truck is 8 feet wide. What is the width of a traffic lane? Maybe 10 feet? You would have to drive out of the lane to hit a car in the next lane. Much of driving with duallys is in the driver's head. In my opinion, the biggest disadvantage to driving a dually is not being able to go through the car washes.

Interest rates went up 1/4 of point yesterday for those of you who don't have your rate locked in yet.
