Always the same station? Tried a different station? Different pumps? Seems like that would be first unless you have done that and it happens everywhere. Just a thought.....
Spoke with rep from Hyundai USA. Side view mirrors are not capable of being set to tilt down when car is placed in reverse. If enough owners complain, they will come up with a fix, he stated.
Spoke with tech from Hyundai USA. Side view mirrors cannot be set to tilt down when car placed into reverse. If enough owners complain they can come up with a fix. Memory seats only operate when key is in ignition. Therefore if a tall driver follows a short drive, they must use slide switch to move seat back to enter car or lean over steering wheel to put key into ignition. Tech agrees that it would be easy fix to keep memory function powered without key (as in most other brands} to eliminate this problem. Again he stated that ehough owners must complain for the company to take action. HYUNDAI USA 800 633-5151
I've been to different stations - same result. If major work is required to correct, say replacement of entire gas tank, could I refuse such work and request replacement vehicle?
Dealer spoke to Hyundai, which said they've received some other reports of this condition. They gave dealer part number to order - some type of valve. Forget the exact description. In any event, hope I'm the odd man out and that this doesn't lead to future recall notice.
It sounds like you've got a good dealer behind you. Unfortunately, you probably aren't the only one if Hyundai already knew how to fix it. Sounds like recall time, and I don't mean anything negative by that. I would much rather see the cars recalled than ignored by the manufacturer. Fix it if it isn't broke is better than ignore it if it is.
My Azera has power fold in mirrors that operate fine. That is completely different function than tilt down in reverse, which Owners Manual states is a feature. Hyundai USA states that it is an error in manual, but if enough complain, they will probably be able to come up with software update.
How come there are no such in-deph reviews as this one published by an American magazine?? Also, do American test drivers and reviewers working for C&D, MT have much higher standard than the Canadians?? it seems all of their reviews are much more favorable toward Hyundai cars than here... http://www.thecarmagazine.com/en/info/roadtest/view.spy?make=hyundai&artid=54054- -
I agree. Many American reviewers seem to have a need to throw a caveat at the end. "The Sonata is good but..." (add your qualifier here) "not as refined as the Camry."
That is fine except the Canadians do not seem to have a need to add those qualifiers.
I was quoted $29,000 out the door!! Looks like Post #722 got a super deal......for the premium package..$26,565 which included the $660.00 desination charge ,MA tax to be added.....
I paid $29,000 out the door including an extended warranty for a Limited w/Ultimate package back in early December. I purchased the first one they recievied. Black w/Grey interior.
My outside temperature display is off by 7 - 10 degrees in my Azera Limited. It was 17 degrees this morning and the display recorded a temperature of 24 degrees. Anyone with similar inaccuracy? When the part comes in to correct my gas port overflow issue, I'll bring this matter to the attention of the dealer.
What do you think a fair price is for the Limited Azera with just the standard options..out the door price which includes Destination,Fees taxes and Tag... I live in North Fl
The important prices for posters to itemize here are the bottom line MSRP (including destination) and the purchase price including documentation fees and any ADM (additional dealer markup) and dealer prep charges. If there are dealer installed options they should be itemized along with the charges. Any dealer installed options are not a part of the bottom line MSRP. The only things which should not be included here for comparison purposes are government charges such as registration, license plates and sales taxes (state/county/local). Out the door prices do not really help the readers here.
What the heck are standard options? Is that like jumbo shrimp? Or intelligent government? Pretty ugly? Same difference? Plastic glasses? Do you get it? If equipment is standard, it is not optional. It is included in the base price of that make, model and trim level on the MSRP sticker. If equipment is optional, it is not standard and not included in the base price of that make, model and trim level. Optional equipment is itemized on the MSRP sticker along with the additional price for that optional equipment. If there is optional equipment which is dealer installed, that is not standard either. Dealer installed options should be itemized and priced on an additional sticker separate from the MSRP sticker. If not there, it had better at least be itemized and priced on the purchase agreement.
My dealer offered a Hyumdai extended warrenty for $1100.00 which extends bumper to bumper to 10 years, 100,000 miles. He also stated warrenty is tranferable and can be canceled at pro-rated rate. Anyone get any better offers for an OEM warrenty?
By standard options I mean the Limited comes with the options that are not on the SE model but are standard on the Limited.
I didn't mean to confuse you so much.I also disagree with you the, out the door price quoted by posters should include all taxes etc, even though there is a different sales tax in each state. They could let the exact tax be known and the amount that is taxed.
The other way they just give you a price and you have no idea what it includes..
There is no financing rebate available in my area. Maybe it's a local thing. The only rebate on the Azera in my areas is the $1000 Hyundai loyalty rebate (and I guess the military and student rebates apply also).
The terms are 10yr/100k mi. bumper to bumper no deductible. As for how it responds to being driven on the highway while being passed by an 18 wheeler I can't honestly answer that because I have not had the time to drive it on the open road only around town. I'm hoping that will change next weekend. On another note I have been looking for mud guards for it, but my dealer does not show any available. I took the time and found they are available in Canada so I called a dealer in Ontario and am going to purchase them for $32 a set front and rear, they will ship them to me.
I went to the St. Louis Auto Show during the week. The Azera was on a revolving pedestal with doors open. So I could not get in and noodle around. So I called a local dealer and went for a drive. Quiet! Really quiet. The interior was charcoal with blond simulated wood trim. The fit both inside and outside is as perfect as I have seen in a car. I read one review that compared the interior fit and materials as good as a BMW 3 class. I thought the ride was very smooth and it took corners with little tilt. Acceleration was good. I detected no motor noise. This is one great car. The adjustment for the steering wheel tilt and telescope is very good. When I turned the key off the tilt went to the up position. Radio is awesome. Thats all.
I purchased a Azera Limited with the Ultimate package. The door locks would not automatically lock when the car was put into drive. After about a 100 miles, the doors started to automatically lock when I put the car into gear. This left me confused. The sales person said that was done on purpose so you could drive that car without the doors locking and if you did not want the doors to auto lock, you could now have the service people disable it. Did anyone have a similar experience with the auto door locks on the Azera?
Hi gene_v, and sorry I missed you at the STL Auto Show. I was there on Saturday. I took some photos of the Azera, but sadly the color doesn't look right in the photos. It was actually quite lovely... I'll post 'em when I get a chance.

Dealer can set doors 3 ways. No auto lock. Lock when put into gear with foot on brake pedal, or lock when car reaches about 8 mph. Notice that memory seat will not adjust without key in ignition. Poor set up. You must lean over steering wheel to put key into ignition before using memory feature. Spoke with Hyundai America customer service dept. Was told that if enough owners complain, they can probalbly make modification so that it will operate without key. ( like most other brands)
Hi kirstie. The color of the Azera at the car show was difficult to determine because the pedestal floor was a dark blue and the blue reflection changed the color. The pedestal should have been a neutral color. Bad setup. Gene
The auto door locks are disabled on mine as well, but after 400 miles they haven't re-enabled themselves. I wouldn't expect them to. Is it possible you simply didn't notice they were doing it earlier? I've seen the service manual online at hmaservice.com and it shows options for "Disable" and speeds from 5km/h to 40km/h in 5km/h increments. The online info seems to be for the identical European model "Grandeur" despite being under the Azera section, so I suppose there could be differences. Somewhere, maybe on this forum, it was mentioned that it can also lock when shifting out of Park. An option to be disabled for 100 miles and then enabled seems unlikely.
I checked with my local service department and they said it takes about an hour to reprogram. By the procedure in the service manual, I'd be surprised if it took 5 minutes. Its literally a matter of plugging the diagnostic tool into the BCM under the dash, and 4 button pushes to navigate a menu to get to a screen where you choose the speed. Unless the BCM is hard to get to, I can't see how it takes an hour.
I just saw Azera at a local auto show last week and fell in love with it. I think it beats a heck out of Avalon, 95% of people don't care about Navigation System, and other than that Azera beats Avalon in every respect. In addition it offers folding rear seat, a much more useful feature in real life than Nav.
BTW - there is a Limited with Ultimate pakage on E-Bay for $26,900 - good luck getting an entry level Avalon at this price.
I bet you the price will come down to $25k by summer - and they will be selling fast!
From what I'm seeing, the three power ports (cigarette lighter, console, and rear set) all lose power when you remove the key. Anyone know if that's a behavior that can be changed? In my old car, I'd often leave my cell phone or GPS to charge overnight and now I can't do that anymore.
I took delivery of my Azera today. Super car!! Hope I still feel that way in 3 years! The salesperson, dealership manager, service department manager did not have a clue about setting the "limp home" code. Barely knew what I was referring to. They also assured me the car would not lock when placed in gear.
HOWEVER, a young service tech in the back overheard some of the dialogue and offered up that he had just come from a seminar which covered several of these kinds of items, and in 10 minutes had both items done.
The salesperson also assured me that the rearview did tilt down.....NOTTTT
I agree with many of the observations but did note that the steering wheel did move up and in when I turned the key to off and left the car which does make entry a bit easier.
This forum is ESPECIALLY valuable given that this is a new model and the dealerships seem to not be overly swift :P
Chances are you can enable the the power recepticles by using your ignition key in the mode that enables you to listen to your radio without having most other functions working. I wouldn't suggest it though unless you really trust your garage to be theft proof. It is a surprise to me that the cigar lighter is also disabled without the ignition on though.
I have been researching and looking for a month in search of my next car. I have looked at the bmw 7 & 5 series, Infinity M & G, Lexus IS & GS, Toyota Avalon, Honda Accord, Audi A6, and Buick Lucerne. The Azera caught my eye while on this search. The exterior sides and rear are stylish, and interior roomy and sophisticated. The front end and rims need a little work but I can live with it. The absence of Navigation and parking sensors I cannot and is the only reason I am still looking. Hyundai you would sell alot more of these cars if you built them like their european cousin.

DO SO.

I was offered $29,000 for the Limited with the standad options (out the door) so you see your deal was excellent..
How happy are you with the car? Do you like the way it hold the highway..what about when a 19 wheeler passes you, does it sway or anything..
I ask as I'm use to driving a V8 larger car (Crown Vic)
Thanks in advance

Had the alarm go off today, when it wasn't even set when a car went by my parked Azera on the street. Will ask service department about that one!
