    Yep, the Abarth Elektron Alloys are the giveaway. Carlo Abarth was one of the pioneers in upgrading street cars for better performance and one of the first to develop a line of lightweight alloy wheels for race and street.

    It's a pagoda-top Mercedes-Benz SL in the front. The "three-passenger" roadster at the rear is a bit tougher. It looks like a Jaguar XK.

    Yep certainly a MB 113 in the front (probably 230SL), I will guess the little thing behind it is some kind of Fiat or Alfa or something.

    The still is from Two for the Road (1967) so the Pagoda could be a 230SL or 250SL. IMCDB says the "3 seater" is a '61 Alfa Giulietta Spider (probably a 1300).

    A guy who lives right down the street from one of my best friends has an E-Type painted up just like that in his garage. I know that both him and his wife work for Jag/Land Rover too..

    Looks like a Datsun for some reason. It probably isn't, but that's what came to my mind.

    Apparently my reply got blown off. #12296 is a Fiat 8V
    (Otto Vu) ca. 1952-55. These were bodied by various coachbuilders and by Fiat's in house designers as well. Your pic looks like a late version of the in-house bodywork, it must have been one of the first production automobiles to sport four headlights.

    You're correct - web site called it a '53. Not the best looking use of four headlights, IMHO.

    Doh, I didn't even notice that race-prepared fintail. Pretty cool. I once imagined turning mine into a period rally car. It's pretty fun to drive, especially given its looks.

    Wasn't their lineup 210, 510, 810 back then? These may be a little earlier than I think.

    ...ever since GM applied the name "Vega" to a cramped, oil-burning, aluminum-block Pinto-fighter. On second thought, it could be the Corsica as well :P

    It's closest to the Dino Coupe but half a decade earlier.

    You are probably right - the petrol versions will almost certainly look the same - but the same photo was featured in an article in Autocar yesterday, which I had just read when I logged on to the site, and the model they are launching here first is obviously the diesel, so that was the focus of the article. Now, if the photo had been of the back...

    Correcto! It's a 1963 ASA 1000 GT The ASA Mille
    is often confused with the ATS 2500GT of the same era.

    Giotto Bizzarrini, who designed the fabled 250 GTO had a hand in both cars. The ASA 1000 was built at Bizzarrini's Milan facility. He and Carlo Chiti founded ATS (Automobili
    Turismo e Sport) after the Palace Revolt of 1961.

    I can't seem to find out how many ASA Milles were made but I doubt it was more than a couple of dozen. The car was informally known as the Ferrarina (Baby Ferrari).
