Buick Conv, is it a Skylark ? say 1962
    Peugeot 404
In front of that I don't know - possibly a Mercury Comet?
FInally in front of the Buick, is that some sort of 1962/3 Pontiac ?
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Owner should be thrown in jail for ruining a Gen II Honda CRX like that.

Benz E class lights with a BMW grille? Huh?
  • texasestexases Member Posts: 11,107
How about 1962 Rambler Classic on the right facing us?
  • mp67rivmp67riv Member Posts: 14
Buick looks like a 62 Special. I believe the car in front of the Buick is a 65 Pontiac Tempest/LeMans
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
Correct Fintail, it's an 88-91 CRX. And as much as I'd like to believe it's a parody, I really don't think it is. I agree with ateixeira about jail time for not only an offense to the eyes, but for ruining a CRX like that.

Wow 60,000 seems like a bargain.

Back a few years ago right after BMW stopped supplying their V8s for Range Rovers they jacked the price up considerably. We hadn't really had to ever replace one of those engines let alone do any real work on them as they were always solid.

Probably a year or so after the contract ended, and the price for one of those engines had been jacked up to nearly $30,000 installed, some quick lube shop didn't tighten the plug on a 2003 Range Rover and blew up the motor.

Our Service manager calls up the owner of the lube shop and asks him if he is sitting down and if he has garagers insurance before he tells him the bad news. I can't remember if he had insurance or not.
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
Well that's just the engine in a crate---not the install and new clutch and transmission refresh---that was another $20,000. :P

Yup, that's a '62 Buick Skylark and a Pug 404 but I couldn't say what that is beyond the Puegeot. In front of the Skylark there's a Pontiac h/t but it's probably a '64, can't tell the model.

    Shorty Woody, eh?
  • mp67rivmp67riv Member Posts: 14
Actually, the Skylark had a chrome trim area across the edge of the trunk lid (between the taillights) and extending past the taillights onto the quarter panel. This car doesn't appear to have that trim, so I think it is a Special. Based on the trim around the windshield and the shape of the beltline, the Pontiac appears to be an intermediate sized model. Since it has stacked headlights, it must be a 65 - Tempest or LeMans. Just my two cents...

    Cuuuute. Wheels almost look French.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
Early 50s Fiat, I think by then under the "500" label.
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
Oh yeah, does kinda look like one of those. Wasn't the French version called the Simca 5?
  • lostwrench1lostwrench1 Member Posts: 1,165
I agree on the 62 Rambler Classic.
Did you all notice the license plates being the same?
  • wgraferwgrafer Member Posts: 592
In front of the Pugeot I believe is a 1961 or 1962 full-size Rambler instead of a Merc Comet.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
That's it Fintail, it's a 1950 Fiat (500) Topolino Gardeniera, Fiat's last real woody, they went to fake wood in 1951.

Say what you will, Ferraris are pretty much all pre-sold before they are built. Well at least they were until the economy took a huge dump

    NY Times (10/15/09):
Instead of the usual three- to five-year backlog of orders for its new cars, the company says the California has a waiting list of only 18 24 months. As Ferraris go, it’s almost a buyer’s market.

well you can't blame the car for the people who buy them. :P
  • stephen987stephen987 Member Posts: 1,994
Sometimes you can--look at the clientele Chrysler has solicited for the 300 sedan.
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
yeah but the 300 owners just mess the car up, whereas if you drive a Ferrari incorrectly, it messes you up..... :P
