    The sunshade and wires were most likely aftermarket items although both were offered as factory options in the early part of the decade.

    Yep, looks like the Golf (Rabbit?) GTI, but the C-pillar is a bit different.

    Plus, the wheelbase is much shorter.

    I can see six different cars that I can ID by make, approximate vintage and (in some cases) model name.

    The car in the foreground is a Citroen SM, ca. 1970. Next to it appears to be a MGTD ca. 1953. In the background from left is some kind of roadster - the doors don't cut down so it doesn't appear to be MG - maybe a Singer - either just before or after the wat. Next to it appears to be a Buick ca. 1939/40. I don't know about the large late 20s open car next to it, maybe a Rolls or Mercedes or something. Next to it appears to be a MG TC ca. 1948. Next to that appears to be an Audi A4 or A3 ( I suspect the latter) ca. 2000.

    VW Polo GTi. I think it looks goofy, like they just slapped some Golf features on a Polo. But then, I've never liked Polos... apparently they're small, great quality but absolutely bloody boring to drive. Besides, I haven't seen a current generation one here on the streets yet, and the Supermini/Subcompact class has seen a bit of a resurgence recently.

    Pretty good Fintail, you obviously noticed the disc wheel mounted on the tail of the MG which is how you distinguish the TD from the TC.

    It's kinda hard to tell what the roadster on the left is, Singer would be a good guess or it could be an Invicta. :confuse:

    The late 20s open tourer looks like a Bentley to me, perhaps one of the fabled Blower Bentleys that Ettore Bugatti (sneeringly) called "the fastest Motor Lorries in Europe".

    Rocky, IMO the Citroen SM is one of the most interesting looking cars ever made.

    It's not a Brava (which was a rebadged 131=a three box sedan. The Red car is a Ritmo, badged as the Strada for the USA. The Ritmo/Strada was IIRC essentially an updated Fiat 128.

    Interesting story: they couldn't call the Fiat Ritmo the Ritmo in the UK because the name was already taken by a brand of... feminine hygiene products.

    Of course, Strada means "road" in Italian. Fiat Road. Nice name.

    Yes, in the 70's through Buick dealers. You don't remember the Opal GTs or the Mantas? GM owns Opal.

    Adam Opel AG, based in Russelsheim, Germany has been a wholly owned subsidiary of GM since 1929.

    Since it was acquired before WWII there must have been more than one occasion when P-38 Lightnings equipped with Allison V12s made by a GM subsidiary strafed Wehrmacht convoys made up of Opel Blitz trucks made by GM/Opel. ;)

    Yup, TVR Sagaris. Actually I'm not sure it's the very last TVR but they have ceased production.
