Them Suburban ones be "full size", and haul up too 12,000 lbs for sure. Yep, they call that "workin em" now, words with little meanin too them chasin that fad. Pull that wool, but that truth be that truth on this one now. Good luck on this one now!
I think I eyeballed one of them tundra ones. It had that look of them tacoma ones, ceptin it had them door handles on them little doors in the back. Was this one of them limited ones? Folks be tellin that this be the best way too be tellin them ones from each other. What say, was that one of them ones now? Good luck on this now!
You must be comparing that 3500 with the 1/2 ton Tundra again. If that be your game, then I reckon I'll be gettin' that F-450 and stomp down hard on that pint-size Subarban now!!!
GM offers trans coolers...but they are not needed...the trucks of yesteryears didn't have them and their engines were fine.
The new version of the Ado goes up to 9300 lbs for towing..(is that more than 7200?).with the HD's going to 15,800..(I tries to see what Toys HD's would pull)
They was tricked by that factory, and now they tryin too make them ones sound HD for sure. But that truth can be found on that sequoria forum for sure. Them folks be stingin mad at that factory for trickin em! These folks here keep talkin bout 1/2 ton ones, but that truth is this: Them limited ones aint no 1/2 ton ones. They got mostly tacoma parts, and they sure aint "full size" too start. Just cuz that factory says this or that, dont make it so. These folks need too use them eyes on this, and start admittin that them limited ones aint no 1/2 ton "full size" one now. If they think them ones are, then they aint no different than that factory, tryin too trick other folks into thinkin the same. Good luck on this one now!
Lets look too them facts now. Them tundras be sharin them trannies, pumpkins, transfer case, belly pans, and lots of doo-dads with them tacoma ones now. If Chevy put em a V8 into them S10 ones, and streched it some so as too fit it now, would them S10 ones be a "full size" 1/2 ton one now? Nope. It would be a streched little one with a V8 in it. The same goes for them tundra ones now. Just cuz they put that forien lexi engine in that one sure dont make it "full size" now. What part of this one aint folks gettin? Good luck on this one now!
i'd be interested to see more information on the "exploding rear ends" on silverados that you mentioned a ways back. got any sources/sites where i could read up on this info? thanks in advance.
Are ya sure it aint one of them limited ones that had that pumpkin explode now? Could be they pull that haul too somethin over that 2500lbs limit on em. Them pumpkins aint very big now, got the look of one that could go quick. Whay say, was it a limited one? Good luck on this one now!
The Tundra "pumpkin" is a cantilevered design. This makes it much stronger than a flanged differential housing. Take a good look at that chev differential. You'll see a wide flange all the way around it. That's how they put the 2 halves together and that's what makes it appear larger in diameter. The Tundra has a one-piece design with the differential cantilevered into the axle making it stronger. Any competent engineer can verify this.
Dont need no fancy words too be figurin that one out. Them pumpkins be comin from them hi-lux ones now. That be why they so small! Them ones would snap under the load of a "full size" one but quick. Just use them eyes on this one. Good luck on this one now!
Hey justtheone you say your current vehicle is a 1952 c/k series 1500? I am not a chevy fan but if I remember correctly the c/k designation did not exist until 1959. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Sorry you think the truth be fancy now. Seems whatever you don't like is labeled as fancy or shiny. I'd rather have a bright shiny truth than a rusty old lie. Good luck on this tell!!
Call them pumpkins all them fancy names ya want, but that fact is that fact on em. Them pumpkins be comin right out of them hi-lux ones. Them hi-lux ones got em from them compact cars, and them tundras be usin them compact car pumpkins. Sayin them pumpkins be this or that dont be changin that fact on em! Call them pumpkins what ya may, but that fact be them ones be compact car pumpkins now! Good luck on this one now!
Now that be some serious crazy-talk!!! I got me that hi-lux one now with 400K miles. Them be 2 very different "pumpkins" for sure! Good luck with that crazy talk, some might even believe them silly tells now!!
If the pumpkins on the Tundras are so bad, then they must be having problems with them left and right. Please show me proof of Tundras having problems with their rearends.
By the way, I did find in the Tundra owner's manual where it says the same thing that's in the Sequoia owner's manual. Use a swaybar and don't tow over 45 mph. However, it's one of those caution boxes to save Toyota's butt if someone ever gets killed while towing. They can fight it in court with that if somebody tries sueing them. Some other warnings: "Never tap into your vehicle's hydraulic system as it would lower its braking effectiveness." Ya think! "Never turn off the engine to coast down hills. Your power steering and brake booster will not function without the engine running. Also, the emission control system operates properly only when the engine is running." Really, I didn't know that. I'm sure this means nothing to you though. It will go in one ear and right out the other.
By the way, I did find in the Tundra owner's manual where it says the same thing that's in the Sequoia owner's manual. Use a swaybar and don't tow over 45 mph.
Yep, quick too call someone the liar, then that truth gets out! This be the way of them ones now, denyin that truth, and callin them folks who speak it the liar. But that truth just keeps gettin out dont it now? What say too that one now bama and rwell? So much for them ones now! Good luck on this one now!
Check them magazines ya be so fond of quotin, for that truth on them pumpkins bein the same ones. The facts is the facts on them pumpkins, ask cliffy, the one who sells them limited ones, he aint denyin them pumpkins be the same ones now. This be the way of ya folks, denyin that truth, and callin them folks who speak it the liar. This one been proven, just like them towin restrictions now! Deny them facts, but that truth will get out quick on its own. Good luck on this one now!
By the way, I did find in the Tundra owner's manual where it says the same thing that's in the Sequoia owner's manual. Use a swaybar and don't tow over 45 mph.
Facts is facts. 1) No factory hitch for them limited ones. 2) No haul over 2000 lbs without helper bars 3) No haul over 45 mph By the way, I did find in the Tundra owner's manual where it says the same thing that's in the Sequoia owner's manual. Use a swaybar and don't tow over 45 mph.
So much for them "full size" ones now. Facts is facts. Good luck on this one now!
perhaps, for the benefit of bama and rwell, you could cite the page number so that they may file a complaint with their respective dealers. that way, the next time robby tows 6 other trucks, 18 gliders, and 75 people up a 90 degree boulder strewn cliff-face with a/c on full blast...should something fail (though it won't) toyota would be safe from lawsuit from rob. LOL!
Facts is facts, and that truth be that truth. Some folks be tryin too keep that truth on them forien ones hidden, but that truth got its ways of gettin out now. Been said before: tundra=less truck, more buck. Good luck on this one now!
In a recent J.D. Power study of 5 to 6 year old vehicles the most reliable full size pickup was?
Full-size Pickup Toyota T100
Most reliable compact pickup was?
Compact Pickup Toyota Tacoma
Which ones were not as good?
Listed as below average in long-term dependability are, in alphabetical order: Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Eagle, GMC, Hyundai, Isuzu, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Plymouth, Pontiac, Saab, Suzuki, Volvo and Volkswagen.
Guess it does not matter where them pumpkins come from now. Good luck on this one now.
Y'all better trade your Chevy for a Ford, Toyota or Nissan now. The truth is them forien ones be better today and better tomorrow. The truth is not hidden from justtheone, it is in plain sight now. Y'all need some luck on this one now.
We're talking pickups here not cars. Did you happen to look down at the three most dependable fullsize pickups in their study? You're right, the T100 is there but so is the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet C/K. No F150 in that list. Fords are junk but I'd still buy one over those less-than-fullsized Tundra's.
comic books mentioned before.. that is made in Japan.. by Toyota.. seem like a lot of Toyota's on top of their list.. or maybe they list last first?! I can't really trust mags.. I believe on what I see and experience on my stuff.. I count my lucky stars there aren't that many I don't like..
Them forien ones be rustin quick, head-gaskets popin even quicker. That JD fella should use them eyes too figure this one out now. If them forien ones be lastin so long, where they all gone too? This be that mystery that them folks like JD cant solve now. Aint it funny how all them magazines be tellin how them forien ones be lastin long, yet when ya use them eyes and look about, there aint none too be seen now? Where is all them long lastin hi-lux ones? So much for them magazine tells. Good luck on this one now!
I swear some of you guys seem as dumb as a stump. You can’t think for yourselves, but retain this outdated notion that Big 3 American Iron is the God’s gift to pickup trucking. To dismiss out-of-hand intelligent nonbiased resources like Consumer Reports, Car and Driver, Motor Trend, J. D. Powers, Popular Mechanics, etc. is just plain ignorant. I don’t agree with everything they say, but I do use them as a resource of information. They can help me narrow my options. Their editors and writers are less biased than me, and for sure less biased than many of you.
Why do think the gap between lemons and reliable new cars has narrowed so much over the past couple of decades? It’s not because the UAW said to their people, “Come on folks, let’s work harder and make better cars for the American public.” It’s because the foreign companies built rock solid cars for a reasonable price. Open-minded Americans have made the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry the best selling cars in the US because they are the best made cars in the US. I don’t count the Ford Taurus because if you subtract it’s fleet sales, it wouldn’t be close.
I’ve owned Fords and Toyotas. Every once in awhile I give the American cars another chance. It’s usually a mistake. Toyotas are better. When I get the chance, my current Ford is getting replaced with a Tundra. Mostly because the Tundra is the best full size (yes, full size) option out there; and partly because I’d rather not be in the same group as some of the people on this list. Good luck on this one now.
Yep, chase them forien ones, they got that shine ya lookin for. If ya needin a "full size" truck that be restrictin too 2000 lbs hauls at that top speed of 45 mph, then them forien ones be the ones for ya. If ya needin one for workin, get ya a big3 one now. Fact is facts. Good luck on this one now!
Dumb as a stump....hmmm...how dumb is a stump? The fact that you state that the writers of these CAR mags are less biased than you means absolutely nothing. Especially when they are treated to executive suites by Toyota during their evaluation. Be happy...buy your Toyota...no one cares. Funny...you claim all this about Toyota...and what do you drive...A Ford...
different models made by a manyfacturer a factor in the overall popularity of one of their models? How many midsize sedans does Toyota make besides Camry? Gm has a couple in each division, Ford has a couple as Fords and as Mercurys, DC has (had) Plymouth, Dodge and Chrysler models. If you compare all GM midsize, or all Ford midsize against all Toyota midsize, you see what the "Largest selling car" really means. In trucks Ford, GM, and DC don't spread their sales out over so large a variety, and they all beat Toyota hands down. I work on them all, and Toyotas and Hondas aren't bad cars, but they are not signifcantly better than US brands. It still comes down to buy what you like, they're all pretty good.
They be costin the same as a "full size" one, some say even more now, but they cant be worked, and they sure aint the same size now. Is anybody even seen one of them tundras bein worked? If they cant haul no more than 2000 lbs at 45 mph, how is folks goin work em? Seems them ones be for them chasin that fad, not for them that works em. What say, is any folks workin them forien ones? Good luck on this one now!
Your post (#551) is a little confusing. You admit that the Tundra owners manual calls for the addition of a sway bar - and limits the Tundra to 45 MPH when towing 2,000 pounds - then give some examples of other warnings in the manual. Don't tap into hydraulic system, Never turn off the engine to coast down hills because your power steering and brake booster will not function without the engine running. As if all of these warnings are somehow put in to protect Toyota in a law suite (BTW I agree with). It seems all of these things are pretty much common sense. Only an idiot would tap into his brake system, or turn the engine off going down hill. It seems to me you are saying - it is obvious that the Tundra needs a sway bar and should be limited to 45 MPH when towing - that any idiot should know this. Some how I do not think this is what you were trying to say.
Hay Bamma- After reading the same post from you 50 times that the Tundra is a heavy duty truck that can tow 7,200 pounds - straight from the factory. What are you saying now? Did your Tundra come from the factory with a standard sway bar? Did you know your Tundra was limited to 45 MPH when towing? Seems like you got the short end of a small stick. I never considered the Tundra to be full size - but these tow limitations prove it.
Still trying to mislead and deceive. Playin' pied-piper to the Chevy Ratpack. You best be learnin' them Tundra recommendations be the same ones found in the big 2 manuals...helping folks keep safe. Seen plenty loaded up gm's, dodges and fords jacknifed and busted up tryin' to make that big haul without the swaybars or aux brakes. That manual statin' the facts on the safest way...it not statin' be the limit. That limit be 7200lbs for sure. Good luck on this tell!!
wasn't Olds one of the first car companies?? I would have wacked Buick over Olds, but they do have too many divisions. Anyone got a link to that news???
Sorry now, but them big3 ones aint restricted for what they be designed too be doin: haulin! Only them forien ones got them "pee-wee" truck restrictions now. Yep, them "full size" HD tundras be made for workin, all the way up too 2000 lbs at 45 mph! So much for them forien ones. Maybe now some folks will be gettin this one: tundra=less truck, more buck. Now them folks be gettin that meanin too "Da Runt"! Good luck on this one now!
Libby is posting again! Let me see - it is another fake hick "Mah truck is biggern yourn." post. Shocking!
I miss rube! At least he wouldn't lie about having a '52 and steal his truck pictures from another website.
G.M. just laid off 10% of their salaried work force. They dropped their oldest product line (Oldsmobile).
'99 sales ytd vs. '00 ytd. Chevy Silv & CK " " up 3.3% Tundra " " up 291%
or
October of 2000 vs. October of 1999
Chevy Silv & CK down 15% Tundra up 19%
The word is out about the Shakerado. The '99 is already a used vehicle to avoid (Consumer Reports). The '00 was given a -90% predicted reliability. Chevy better get their act together soon or it will be the Big1.

Have you ever seen a Tundra? Do you even know what one is or looks like? It has a straight axle in the back, it doesn't need a swaybar.
where is this going?
