Well the official response I got was dealer prep fees which when I asked what that covers that was the explanation. Needless to say the vehicle wasn't purchased

I'm glad I know nothing about Bobcats!

Oooooo I'd like to say something but you'd probably get mad at me and not talk to me again.

What the heck, since I'm here, let me say, the only thing you know about Korean iron is that they aren't worth the paint that's put on them. :shades:

I'm anxiously awaiting the group picture that you've probably had taken of yourself.

It probably needs to be trapezoidal, to accommodate the head(s).

I'm in Arizona, which is a long way from you. There's still Vancouver, Prince Rupert or Anchorage, thank go. . .

"you do what you have to do .

if you sold crack and had a cop shaking you down for cash you would pay him."

Quite a few of the places that I visit (ours as well) have what's called a mission statement. I'd be delighted if you put your quote (above) on a big plaque & posted it front & centre in your facility, as we do in my industry. I think it's called putting your mouth where your money is, or something like that. It lets your customers know what you stand for.

Thanks for putting me back in the proper frame of mind. I've been hanging out here for many months with people I wouldn't mind sitting down & having a drink & maybe dinner with. You've brought me back down to earth, just in the nick of time -- I actually need to buy a car next year.

Stereotypes are based on fact. PT Barnum ("there's a sucker born every minute") was right; I'm fairly confident that you & your ilk won't argue that. As others have posted recently, you are why I buy new cars, or used cars only from individuals.

H.L. Mencken had an even better quote: "No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public."

    Party on!

I got high centered on it and for some reason extended mode on the air suspension wouldn't kick in ...

I'd say something but I know you'd get mad at me, so, I won't say it.

Can we all climb off our pedestals for a moment and take a deep breath?

    Enjoy the STORIES.

Gotta keep that last line in mind: "party on."

Or, to your taste, "story on."

As to pedestals, I'm certainly not on one. I'm among the slime who actually purchase and drive cars. Couldn't get much lower. Fair prey and all that.

I don't sell them, except privately.

I guess the biggest gripe that I have with Korean cars is the dismal resale values.

Even Mercedes has the same problem. Last I checked they were not made in Korea.

LOL............funniest story I heard in a long time. Nice one. Even if it were true, I will not believe it.

Many of you expressed interesting thoughts today regarding a relatively new poster. From my perspective, it reminds me of former students. Ninety-five percent were good students who worked hard, learned much, and treated their fellow man with respect and kindness. The remaining 5% didn't take our advice or help. They grew into adults who lived on the edge of the law (or beyond) and never gave morality or ethics a second thought. They are the ones that we now must avoid or watch carefully. We can tell the difference by reading between the lines in these posts.

After several months of being here, it would be easy to revert back to my dislike of car salesmen. However, after meeting many of you, I refuse to believe that the 5% includes all of you. There will always be a poster who displays unfavorable qualities and exhibits poor judgment and tactics. Though they piss me off to no end with their arrogance and low life attitude, I look to the rest of you as our real hope for the future. As a consumer, I think that I know who to purchase an automobile from in this country---regardles of ethnicity, taste in women, food preference, or lack of good manners. Gentlemen, school is now adjourned.

You pay me $1000 an June 1st to drive a delivery truck for you. I spend $500 of the $1000 on gas that month, you reimburse me the $500. How much did I make?

From you I've learned that there's no slow month, only slow between your ears (or something like that). However, let me phrase the question differently. What is the best time of year for a car salesman to go on vacation?

    Just wondering.

April or November from my experience. I'm not sure if that will change with highline, but those were the slowest months from my experience.

I'm sorry that you have to work in a store that would do that to their salespeople.

Greenpea should just be happy that he HAS a job. I know that prison never agreed with him. The Nissan store he works for has a special work program for convicted felons which he qualified for. Trust me, he should be thankful.

So right and we’ve had our share here since I’ve been paying my dues and I’m a newbie compared to a lot that are here. These trolls blow in and out like the weather. Some weather fronts stall for a while but things always return to normal.

Though they piss me off to no end with their arrogance and low life attitude…

Me too but I’ve learned that if you don’t feed a troll they blow away.

Some feel that change is good but only good change is good…bad change is only bad.

    Isell,

Not only do the sales people clean cars but the GM is out there all day too. It is just the nature of the beast up here.

At least I get to leave to go deliver car a 1.5 hours away. I'll miss the pizza but it is worth it. :)

I have a friend who sell Hondas, Lincoln and something else. Well anyways, him and a couple of other salesmen were in the "huddle" outside. Two were talking to each other and my freind and another guy were on their cell phones. So then the manager goes and asks all of them "why isnt anyone taking care of that guy?"(someone walking around the lot). Then one salesperson said "oh he's a service customer." So the manager said ok and went and talked to the guy who was on the lot. Thirty minutes later the manager came back to the guy who had said "oh hes a service customer" and told him "YOU'RE FIRED!!!!" The manager sold the guy on the lot a car. My friend was so scared he said it could of been him. :surprise:

It’s been my understanding that all Nissan stores operate like this. :confuse:

Trust me, he should be thankful.

Now I know I’m right. Some actually get paroled and go elsewhere, huh? :shades:

    Maybe I'm a Prima Donna.

I have helped move cars on snow days but I'm not a Lot Attendant.

And I've never delivered a car to anybody. They come to me to pick up their cars.

Craig: where you are, it snows a couple of times a year and typically not the 6"+ storms we regularly get. Hiring a Bobcat to come in and do the work is a cheap. Here in Boston it snows alot. No dealership is going to hire a crew to come in every 5-7 days and spend 20 hours moving cars back and forth. There's a big Honda store near me and they have storage lot half a mile away. All employees - including sales people, receptionists, et al - are driving cars over there if it isn't busy. It's called pitching in so you can get back to what makes you money.

I came into work and i saw a guy in a sandwich board with Deskman motors ripped me off in big lettters.

I went out to speak with the Cust and asked him why he was upset.

The cust told me was upset because he purchased a new jeep and i charged him a dealer fee. the deal was under invoice (when jeeps owned the suv market and in short supply) then i charged him a dealer fee to break even .

I showed him that every deal has the same dealer fee and that the amount of the fee is printed on the buyers order by my print vender.I also let him know that by law i had to charge everyone the same dealer fee amount.

The cust Could not Understand Normal Thinking and said he would continue to protest the fee and to make every passer by aware of his opinion of Deskman motors.

I returned to my office and called a sales meeting.I told all sales people to adjust the sprinklers to point toward the road so that the water would puddle on the road next to the sidewalk.

I then instructed them to take demo rides in wranglers around the block and to drive thru the puddles close to where the Cust was standing when returning to the store.

After 30 minutes the guy was soaked to the bone and we never saw him again.

i didn't realize it was all work-related expenses. for some reason, that just didn't occur to me. i guess that's because i don't get reimbursed for anything, regardless of the fact i may use my computer/internet connection for work, take and make calls on my cell, and drive to and from work. so, to me, if I DID start getting money for all of that, it would be extra income. But, yeah, if the kid is ONLY using his phone and car for work .... then again, I would bet some of that is still extra income. As in your example, you add in receipts for driving to and from work and for your phone, which you use on the weekends to call your girlfriends ... you know the drill. In any case, point taken.

And this is where my hackles start to rise. When I first started posting, you guys were all over me. You said I was a troll, that I made up all my stories, that I wasn't going to last and I'd just blow in and out like the rest of them.

In my opinion, a troll is a tbaxxon. I loved that guy for what he did. He made things interesting. That's more than what I can say for isellhondas droll remarks about the current buying situation in So Cal. and how his store sells the most Hondas in the world. When's the last time that we heard a story from him? I hear the same remarks from him all the time. (Sorry to pick on ya pal.)

Stop raggin on guys that actually HAVE stories to tell for crying out loud. Good or bad, at least he is sharing.

I see you purchased the car you want to trade at deskman motors.i am sorry i cant help you,you are too upside down.

i can only trade with you if your widget trade came from japan and you dealt with one of our Mcemployees when you purchased it.

    Salesman

Happy to see you again Linda and Larry. How has the widget been treating you?

    Cust

The ordertaker down at rising sun motors said i was upsidedown then mentioned something about having to flip burgers if he could not bump someone to the supervalue meal.

    Salesman

Those Mcjob guys are weak.I will be happy to get you out of that old widget and get you done on a new widget.

hmmm, seems he would have just refused to buy the jeep if it included the fee. Why whine about it after the fact?
