As I mentioned in my post previously the RPM is at 2200 when driving at 120km/h, to me this is very low. Also I noticed that the engine and however it is 4cyl but a bit noisy compared to my previous 05 Honda Accord.
I will wait for the Toyota techs to drive my car; however, I am sure that they will say it is normal and it is characteristics of the car I have heard this from lots of people before this is their remedy for a problem when they don't know how to fix especially with cars that are driven by computer now.
Cars quality is not there anymore and it is luck!!!
The frequency of ABS vibration is much greater than the pulsation from warped rotors.
I have a toyota camry 06 with 100,000 miles on it. I recently changed the brake pads and the rotors on all four wheels. Since then it vibrates when I press on the brake. The vibration is only on the brake pad and not in the car or the wheel. Also it is more when the car is in high speed. Basically it seems to be almost normal when i brake while driving 20m/hr or less. I think it is rotors but not sure, will really appreciate suggestions.
thanks
Thanks
Do you think I should call Toyota Corp prior to going to the dealership?
2. Not sure but it occurs ever 12k - 15k miles
3. Toyota says "no brakes needed, scuffed surface, still plent of pad left"
I wish I knew what the heck toyota has done .. all I can say is that I was back in the shop for the 9th time due to Rotors and they have decided to deny any further service to my car for rotors...siting that it is how I drive the car...well since this is my 5th new car of which some I have put over $200k miles on and never had rotor issues, they are wrong! I do not drive with my left foot on the brake.
basically they said, we will see you in 5K miles for your service (Engines for Life)--I told them that I will not be back for service--if my engine blows up, they will just tell me it was how I drove their vehicle...Toyota does not stand behind their product!
Had an Acura Integra 300k miles - never had rotor issues
Had an 98 Plymouth Grand Voyager - 270k miles- no rotor problems
Had a 98 Chevy S10 - 240K miles - no rotor issues
Etc...Etc...Etc
Case and point, there is a problem and instead of trying to figure it out from the start, they treated the symptoms by turning rotors, replacing rotors and scuffing brake pads.
Buyers Beware: Toyota does not stand behind their product and that comes straight from the "Factory Reps". My family has purchased 5 cars from them in the last 5 years and wewill not buy another!
The dealership seems to think this is a "factory" built in feature, I doubt that this is true. Can anyone confirm this? Thank you!
I hope you showed enough aggravation at their trying to blame the cabin filter you'd used.
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
The car has a evap with a faulty coating. If cabin air filters were causing this problem it would affect a much broder range of vechiles. I guess you have to see the amount of powder to understand. Mabey you could post some pictures.
You can defeat this design, however. If you push the recirculate button AND hold it in for 5 seconds, it will stay on recirculate until you push it again or you switch the airflow knob into or out of one of the two defrost positions or, once you turn off the car.
NipponDenso covers their evaporator cooling vanes/surfaces with a thin coat of porus nylon. The pores are then filled with an anti-microbial chemical. Over time and use the chemical will be fully leached from the nylon pores and the OEM pollen filter then becomes the only sources of the chemical.
Over an extended period the nylon coating itself begins to break down and flake off of the roughly 10,000 square inches of evaporator vane surface area.
Lexus/Toyota/NipponDenso first begin the practice of using the anti-microbial chemical embedded in the porus nylon back in about mid-91 but neglected to file an MSDS form with the FDA(?). They then had to discontinue the practice until later when a more beniegn chemical could be found and qualified via US regulations.
This could be the result of a few bad parts (suppliers do make errors), or maybe the result of someone abusing it on a test drive. Your owner's manual says to avoid hard braking for the first 200 miles.
Glad to hear your dealer took care of the problem and I hope everything else is well.
However, we just test the remote starter again and it stopped working. We follow the instruction that the dealer sent to us but nothing is clear from wiring part with out the hood switch. We can make it start the car by using the remote but it will stop working after we drove the car around.
I am not sure if the hood switch is a must have or not but i will add the hood switch and test it again.
When you turn on the Camry, you get the scrolling "Welcome to Camry" message; however, my satellite radio titles and artists' names will not scroll! Are they supposed to?
If anyone else has the XLE 2007 Camry, and/or has the standard XM Radio for the Camry, I would be very interested to know if yours is scrolling. It seems like it should!
I'm also having a problem with the 'Mode' button - or switching back and forth from radio to satellite. It regularly cannot do it, and I either have to cycle back through to radio or satellite - or turn the car off! Not a good solution.
Word of advice: GO BACK TO THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT TELL HIM YOU DROVE THE CAR AFTER FINDING IT WAS EMPTY OF OIL.
Bottom line is, his shop IS 100% responsible for any damage that may have resulted from your car leaking out its entire oil supply out onto the road......but, he will TRY to blame YOU if you make any mention of KNOWINGLY driving with no oil. Tell him you stopped driving right after you smelled smoke...checked the oil...saw it was empty...and added oil right away...THEN drove to his shop.
The drain plug must have been left out........or, the threads were stripped when it was re-installed, or the filter wasn't tightened properly and one of the two was leaking from the minute you left his shop.
Either way, it's obviously all his fault, and I'd be prepared to name a lawyer if he starts to give you push-back of any type whatsoever.
Good luck....let us know how you make out.
Michael
Thank you for responding back so quickly. I'm so worried that I would get stuck with a massive bill from the Toyota Dealer. I had the car towed and delivered to them at12:30am this morning from 168 miles outside of where I live, because there was no way I could drive it and I didn't have anyone to call. The towing was quiet expensive, but I didn't know what else to do.
PS: I didn't know that a mis-installed drain plug or new filter could cause a massive oil leak like that.
Thanks again!
Patty
The engine lubricating oil pump's pressure releif valve failed in the closed position and the excess pressure ruptured the oil filter.
Good luck to you.......and hope you get your car back soon.
On other fronts, I believe you said your car is a 2007, yes? If so (and if it's an automatic), and if you've noticed any hesitation at intersections (i.e. acceleration is 'jumpy' after having slowed down), and/or if you have rattles coming from around/under the dashboard when traveling over rough roads, there are TSBs (technical service bulletins) issued by Toyota that instruct your dealer to fix these (unrelated) problems for you free of charge.
Cheers, sweetie.....and have a great day!
Thanks again
Patty
This is under the normal powertrain warranty (5 years, 60k miles).
If it is a V-6, then there are no hesitation issues that need the simple, quick reprogramming.
