Now your blaming Gobal Warming on the Domestics. Holly Crap, whats next the Kennedy Assassination.
What else does the scientific community know about this, I spose I could Google it, but what does this mean for a padre living in SE Arizona working in the medical community?
OK, let's think practically for starters. Remember to wear your sun-block and use a 45 blocking formula instead of only 25-35, for better blockage. Just to sort of get this thing "moving" a little bit.

Decades later, Mr. Klaus, the 67-year-old president of the Czech Republic — an iconoclast with a perfectly clipped mustache — continues to provoke strong reactions. He has blamed what he calls the misguided fight against global warming for contributing to the international financial crisis, branded Al Gore an “apostle of arrogance” for his role in that fight, and accused the European Union of acting like a Communist state.
As a former finance minister and prime minister, he is credited with presiding over the peaceful 1993 split of Czechoslovakia into two states and helping to transform the Czech Republic into one of the former Soviet bloc’s most successful economies.
But his ideas about governance are out of step with many of the European Union nations that his country will lead starting Jan. 1.
While even many of the world’s most ardent free marketeers acknowledged the need for the recent coordinated bailout of European banks, Mr. Klaus lambasted it as irresponsible protectionism. He blamed too much — rather than too little — regulation for the crisis.
A fervent critic of the environmental movement, he has called global warming a dangerous “myth,” arguing that the fight against climate change threatens economic growth.

Methane is about 30X more potent than CO2 as a GHG.
I wonder whether the methane is mainly due to human-leaks, or more likely natural venting?

What effect does this extra radiation have on heating the atmosphere or ionizing it and creating chemical reactions in the air?
Oh how little we understand, and yet Mr. Gore and his paid-for-scientists would have you believe we must drastically change our lifestyle.

And it is only Fall! The only people who like winter are the skiiers and plow-drivers; so I say again let's forget about keeping the Earth this cold.
We are able to drive up to the snow SKI and drive out of the snow,( in as little as 2 hours: Actually 4 hours) The 3 or four total winter seasons I have so called LIVED 24/7 in the snow was enough to last my lifetime, and I was dragged kicking and screaming to those. ( for 2 years, I was stationed 90 miles south of the Army's Artic training Headquarters, 10th Mountain Division- USA's version of Siberia?) Watching your car rust in front of your eyes was not my idea of fun.
"An opinion poll in 11 countries has produced what organisers term a "global mandate" for action on climate change." And the Vatican is putting up solar panels (pic at the link - BBC)
How can that be? Why would Toyota sell a car for less than it costs to produce?
More importantly, why are other car companies producing hybrids at all?
I guess it does make sense in a Global Warming Cult sort of way. Put yourself out of business so there are no more cars and then the planet will be happy. Just don't fall down and break your leg or it'll be a long hop to the hospital.

I wondered how much MORE it would cost (R& D total, per unit cost, etc.,) for them to respecify and obviously redesign the hybrid engine to go a min of 10,000 miles between OCI's; like say, the Honda Civic. This of course is 2x to 3.33 x better for the Civic (conventional oil by the way) !!
I personally run OCI's of 20,000 miles on Mobil One 0w20 to 5w20, and have so for 76,000 miles Oil and the next 20,000 miles oil, and oil filter change is due @ 80,000 miles. It is totally sludge FREE !!!! The thing runs like a top. I run the VW Jetta TDI @ 20,000 to 25,000 miles OCI's, again on a Mobil One product (Delvac One/Mobil One Truck and Suv 5w40)
Oldfarmer, I think the Prius may have been a loss leader for a year or so, but not after that.
Yes I heard that too. Washington Post - Nov. 25th carried the article (sorry I can't post; needan online subscription). But what that gives them is what is known in the accounting world is an "intangible asset". The "intangible assets" in this case would be a "green-label for the entire company"; the fact that they can claim "the highest mpg mass-produced car", and there may be others.
To Toyota these may be worth several billion $'s, more than compensating for any actual lose.
Other companies have these intangible assets - why does Bud keep teams of Clydesdales (at a loss), and all the other companies with their logos - they pay for image.
Ah, here we go:
Toyota Says It’s Now Turning a Profit on the Hybrid Prius. (LA Times). It took 75,000 sales to get to profitability and now they've sold over a million of them and expanded hybrid technology to several other models.
Havn't all diesels made in the US since 2007 had to run on ultra low-sulfur? So that's nothing to brag about.
It is nice to see Ford bringing new diesels to the market though. How about something smaller than a 6.4L?
2019 Kia Soul+, 2015 Mustang GT, 2013 Ford F-150, 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible
You beat me to it Farmer. How about an F150 with a 3.2L diesel? Ford proves again that none of the Big 3 have a clue as to what the market needs and wants.
And at the same time maybe they could have Banks Engineering modify the engine design to put out close to the same power as the 6.4L that Ford will give you.
As the Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, an economist, anti-totalitarian and climate change sceptic, prepares to take up the rotating presidency of the European Union next year, climate alarmists are doing their best to traduce him.
The New York Times opened a profile of Klaus, 67, this week with a quote from a 1980s communist secret agent's report, claiming he behaves like a "rejected genius", and asserts there is "palpable fear" he will "embarrass" the EU.
But the real fear driving climate alarmists wild is that a more rational approach to the fundamentalist religion of global warming may be in the ascendancy - whether in the parliamentary offices of the world's largest trading bloc or in the living rooms of Blacktown.
As the global financial crisis takes hold, perhaps people are starting to wonder whether the so-called precautionary principle, which would have us accept enormous new taxes in the guise of an emissions trading scheme and curtail economic growth, is justified, based on what we actually know about climate.
One of Australia's leading enviro-sceptics, the geologist and University of Adelaide professor Ian Plimer, 62, says he has noticed audiences becoming more receptive to his message that climate change has always occurred and there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Why are people still going after these creatures? Is it like these little monkeys that they find in 2008 after searching for 50 years in the Amazon...and then all of a sudden it's...Wow!
We found the lost tiny orange monkey Trylinka-bots!
Is that what these Sasquatch hunters are morphing themselves in to? So they can say they found the first body of a Sasquatch and then everyone will throw cash at them or something?
There are groups that go out, camp, bring walkie-talkies and earnestly search for these hunched-over man-like gorilla-like beings.

PARIS - There is both growing public reluctance to make personal sacrifices and a distinct lack of enthusiasm for the major international efforts now underway to battle climate change, according to findings of a poll of 12,000 citizens in 11 countries, including Canada.
Results of the poll were released this week in advance of the start of a major international conference in Poland where delegates are considering steps toward a new international climate-change treaty to replace the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012.
There already are reports emerging that some countries, such as coal-dependent Poland, are pushing for special treatment to avoid making major commitments to slash carbon emissions during a global economic downturn.
Less than half of those surveyed, or 47 per cent, said they were prepared to make personal lifestyle changes to reduce carbon emissions, down from 58 per cent last year.
Only 37 per cent said they were willing to spend "extra time" on the effort, an eight-point drop.
And only one in five respondents - or 20 per cent - said they'd spend extra money to reduce climate change. That's down from 28 per cent a year ago.
The Canadian results, from a poll of 1,000 respondents conducted in September, were virtually identical to the overall figures. There are no comparative figures for Canada because Canadians weren't included in the global study in 2007.

The new Obama regime should be crafting ways to put them into a special minority group for full exploitation !!!! :lemon: AKA raise only this minority groups taxation !!!
Don't laugh, in Australia some of the more radical GW cultists have proposed requiring a permit to drive ANY vehicle outside of the city you live in. They also propose taxing vacations taken by car.
But I'm sure it's for our own good.

Stephen Hockman QC is proposing a body similar to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to be the supreme legal authority on issues regarding the environment.
The first role of the new body would be to enforce international agreements on cutting greenhouse gas emissions set to be agreed next year.
But the court would also fine countries or companies that fail to protect endangered species or degrade the natural environment and enforce the "right to a healthy environment".
The innovative idea is being presented to an audience of politicians, scientists and public figures for the first time at a symposium at the British Library.
Mr Hockman, a deputy High Court judge, said that the threat of climate change means it is more important than ever for the law to protect the environment.
The UN Climate Change Conference in Poznan, Poland this month is set to begin negotiations that will lead to a new agreement to replace the Kyoto Protocol in Copenhagen next year. Developed countries are expected to commit to cutting emissions drastically, while developing countries agree to halt deforestation.
Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister, has agreed the concept of an international court will be taken into account when considering how to make these international agreements on climate change binding. The court is also backed by a number of MPs, climate change experts and public figures including the actress Judi Dench.
Mr Hockman said an international court will be needed to enforce and regulate any agreement.

So I guess Black Friday would have to go. We can't allow people to do all that unnecessary driving, just to buy some toys.
And wouldn't the world just be a great place to create another autocratic body that does not have to answer to the people; not being elected.
Instead of creating new agencies we should be reducing the ones we have. Instead of new taxes we need to reduce the ones we have. The world was a much better place in the 50's (would have been perfect without the Cold War).
Dame Judi Dench is a fine actress and a nice person but what relevance does she - or her ilk - have to this topic ? Why not co-opt Champion the Wonder Horse or Trigger, or Shrek or Skippy the Bush Kangaroo or Willie the Orca ? :confuse:
This just took me from being a calm, reasonable, pleasant individual who's just spent a nice afternoon going round our local Food & Drink Fair, (yummy), to a raving Grumpy Old Man. If this brings on my third heart attack I will not be a happy bunny. Now there's a threat,
Truly, the U.K. is ruled by dangerous madmen. Please, America, invade us and arrange a regime change.
Cheers...

Well at least we would be correct about you having WMD.
Does anyone here seriously think that if the developed world simply goes to electric cars and sequesters CO2, that the rest of the developing world who can't afford this sort of technology, isn't just going to burn fossil fuels in any manner they can?
Do you think the villager in Nigeria who's using pilfered oil products, or the Chinese who use coal to heat and cook are going to stop burning fuels as they do? No.
If CO2 makes a difference in GW, then we had better spend the resources to adapt, because history shows us there is no way to control the behavior of billions of people, especially those who have little material wealth now. 7 Billion people have the inheritant desires to eat, stay warm and use fuels to travel and run machines.
Indeed the number one foreign supplier to China for coal is... you guessed it... the US of A.!!! Since the skids for this unsung distinction were greased LONG ago by the Clinton administration; as you might remember the VP for that eight year regime was Al Gore? I could be mistaken.? VP Gore did credit himself with inventing the internet.( I didn't know VP's had THAT much free time)
Does anyone even wonder what a democratic dominated House, Senate, Executive branch, state governors, etc., etc. will do about this?
China really endeavors to be just like us !!!! Just keep in mind as Kernick suggests, we are a population of 300 M vs 2,000 M (2
So if anything, turn on even higher the bubble machine !!! Just play more tunes with the global warming theme.
One might further ask, IF solar panels are the policy, instead of coal fired electrical generation plants, how long it would take for a majority of houses to be so equipped? Keep in mind the AVERAGE Chinese family's income is less than 2,000 US per year. With the average solar panel system costing 20-30k installed here, any liberal can do the math!?
Yes, we do have WMD, that's true. However, we cannot freely use the submarine-carried ones. Part of the deal for us having the system was that you guys, in the USA, would maintain control of a link in the fire control chain. So, we can only launch our "independent" system if you folks say it's O.K. to do so.
Guess it's just there to make sure we don't try and take back The Colonies by force.
Sorry this is off-topic but felt the need to clarify the WMD thing.
