should have ac
does it have ac compressr under hood?
I have a 94 & a 98 Cherokee.
Engine heat is all proper but seems that the heater does not put out HOT on high, just warm. Blend door is closing all the way, Any ideas? or do Cherokees have mediocre heaters?
Can I replace the blower motor without having to drain the A/C system? Is it as simple as removing the 3 screws, and pulling the motor?
Thanks.
What's the problem? Air Blend Door Accutator? A heater control sensor?
Will the "heatertreater" on ebay work? Cutting a hole in the plastic once removing the glove compartment to access the air blend door? Do I have to remove the entire dash?
Help, it's getting cold and people are starting to whine.

Had mine replaced at 5 years old - talking to an a/c specialist - told me to run the a/c every week without fail - summer / winter for at least 20 minutes. Seems the gas lubricates the system & if its not run frequently - the seals fail - lose gas etc. - units overheat and fail full stop. Regassing lasts for a few weeks then gone again etc.
Nowhere have I seen anything on this requirement to run for min 20 minutes per week - but I've done just that for the last 3 years and not even had to regas
Any thoughts?
thanks,
Mike
I am new to this list and I have a '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with automatic climate control. The blower motor is working intermittently. When it does work all modes on the directional control work just fine and do what they are supposed to do, so I'm thinking control module or something similar. I put direct power to the motor and it spins happily with no abnormal noise. So the question is this: is there a blower motor control module and where would it be located? Thanks in advance for the help.
Does anyone have the directions to install to preview before ordering from e-bay .
(Looks appx cost $130 )
All, I mean all, dealers are nothing but "screw you shops". I had a Jeep dealer tell me I needed $350 worth of brakes all around including rotors in front. Over 10,000 miles later I asked my independent mechanic to check my brakes. I had new tires put on just before this and looked at the front pads and the tire man and my observation agree I was getting close on brakes. When I had my independent mech look at them he said yes I should have new brakes.
Why did my Jeep dealer tell me over 10,000 miles before this point in time I needed new brakes. If you bought new brakes every 40,000 miles I went 25% over the time they told me I needed new brakes before I had them put on.
Why doesn't the dealer tell you about the repair kit for the Heat/AC that is avail. where you don't have to remove the dash, steering wheel, center console,
antifreeze, etc. They are money mongels and they simply screw you. If I had the money to buy a dealership I would prove to the world, (if I wanted to screw the customer) that I could sell cars at my absolute cost, I mean REAL cost, and make a good living on the repair and maint. side of the business.
