Cheers and thanks!
I am still having the same preoblems with my Rodeo. It sounds like a bad starter solenoid as it will usually just make a clicking sound when I turn the key, after several attemps it will usuall start. Also I still have not been able to fix the A/C heater blower motor. As I stated before, I have replaced the resister the dash switch and straight wired the blower motor to check it. It works fine when straight wired but not at all any other time. Also the car has a manual Trans. Any help is appreicated
Thanks,

let me know what happens
I recently had a clutch go out on my V6 rodeo, so I ordered the new clutch and replaced it myself. However, after putting the transmission back up and bleeding the system, I am unable to depress the clutch without a TON of force and really I cannot get it to the floor. It almost feels as if 3/4 of the way down that something is pushing back, but I don't know.
I have not tried to bleed the master cylinder as I replaced the master and slave cylinders before trying to replace the clutch, but the work was done by a service technician.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? I still have to refill the transmission fluid so I have not yet tried to start the truck, but I am almost afriad to. I am 99% sure that the new clutch was installed correctly.
Can anyone help? Thank you so much for your help and valuable time.

I apologize for not seeing your post sooner. My problem was that I slightly installed the clutch incorrectly. The Rodeo uses a pull clutch rather than the traditional push method. That means that when the clutch is installed, the release bearing has to be inserted into the actual clutch so that when the clutch is depressed, it pulls the release bearing, which pulls the clutch away from the flywheel and disengages the engine. I had not done this previously, so the pressure I was feeling was just the clutch fork not having any more room to pull backward. After I got the release bearing snapped in, everything worked perfectly.
As far as bleeding the system, it is farily easy to do. Let me know if you need help with that aspect of the diagnosis.
I checked the engine codes with a scan tool and found that it had a dtc code number P0722 which was a code for the output speed sensor. I did several checks and decided the speed sensor was bad and replaced it. This did not fix the problem. I have since noticed that the backup lights are not working and the gear indicator on the dash is not lighting up. I have read in other places that this could all be caused by the mode switch on the side of the transmission but I am not sure and would rather not just throw parts at the truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks
My girlfriend has a '96 Isuzu Rodeo V6 4WD that the starter has begun clicking when you try to start it. Usually if you keep clicking away (turning the ignition key) it will eventually start. I know it has something to do with the starter and please understand that both of us are very "financially challenged" at the moment, so a cheap fix would be the best one for now.
I've read in this forum and in the general forum about similar symptoms and have read conflicting suggestions or answers. I've heard where one person said it was definitely the starter and then another said it was probably the starter solenoid. I've gathered some information from here to check the connections and do a little troubleshooting, but even some of that information has been sporadic and inconsistent. I've seen starters for this make and model of Isuzu that you can actually purchase the individual parts for the starter, so I could potentially narrow that price down to less than $20, if it truly IS the solenoid. A local friend of mine seemed convinced that the clicking starter symptom was generally a bad solenoid.
The car will start, but not until you click it a few times.
Any advice, suggestions, links, guides, or trouble-shooting tips to narrow down specifically what is wrong with the starter and/or the solenoid, would be greatly appreciated.

just bought a 85 KB rodeo. gonna throw in a big cam twin carbs and twin high power coils. forged pistons and machined higher compression head and block. so far all ive done is extractors.
Does anyone know of any engine performance parts for a Chevrolet 60 degree or GM 3.1L that was put into the 1992 Rodeos?
Thanks
To those ends, we will be shutting down the general make/model discussions and work exclusively with specific issues. This requires us to populate the make/model subsections with relevant, interesting and timely topics. Rather than having the hosts simply create boilerplate topics for each make/model, we feel that you, the owner, the make/model enthusiast and the prospective buyer can best judge what those topics should be.
You can help by adding a discussion (it's easy!) or suggesting one here.
To add a discussion, click on the last link in the "You are here" line at the top of this page. That will take you to the topic page for this make/model. Review the list of topics and click on the "Add discussion" link when you've decided what topic you'd like to add. Follow the directions and you're done! Feel free to add more than one. Just avoid duplicating existing topics and try not to make it TOO specific!
Your help and continued participation in the Forums is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I suspect i might have used the wrong oil. The manual lists several grades and what i used this time is: Castrol 20W-50 High Milage Formula. Any ideas as far as if this is the good choice of oil and if it can cause the problems?
Thanks!

IT DOES NOT TAKE MOTOR OIL. You will burn up your trans if you use such light-weight oil! Unless you live in Siberia where it's like -20 degrees on warm days, of course.
