2015 Honda CR-V Prices Paid and Buying Experiences
I bought a 2015 Honda CRV Touring AWD(White Exterior and Beige Interior) for $31,250, Dealer had already installed Wheel Locks and Mud gaurds so he said he will charge additional $300 but I negotiated that and he did not add any more for them. Getting a Touring model was very tough in the area, We have been looking around 150 Mile radius in and around Cincinnati but couldn't find many, Even though I found few, Dealers are quoting around 33,000
One dealer quoted: List Price:$33,650.00
Your ePrice: $33,000.00 + TT&L
But I did wait for few weeks until I got a deal of 31,250 + 2098 Tax +250 Documentation Fees.
Not sure if I got a good deal but it is the best I could get in this area.
Thanks
I've been getting prices on these as well. They've been all over the board, from full MSRP to $500 below MSRP, to more aggressive pricing around $31,000 (plus tax, tag, doc).
I am hoping to pull the trigger within the week, just waiting on my color! One of the high price dealers has the color I want, but they refuse to deal. So I'll wait.....
Just wanted to relay opening bids procured from Honda dealers in the Phoenix, Arizona area (8 dealers in the valley) procured on 12/26/2014 for the 2015 CR-V LX 2WD. First, the highest OTD bid:
Invoice $23,004.05 Tax 7.95% $1,828.82 Plates and Doc fee $ 841.67 Total $25,674.54
Note that I did not request additional items (like Zaktek paint protection or tint), but most dealers threw those add-on numbers. Also note that the taxes vary from town to town. Could be somewhat slim pickings out here in Arizona. Hard to gauge.
I'm hoping to close out a deal by year's end, but I'm happy to wait out the dealers, if necessary. I'll report back as the numbers change.
Hello there. I'm new to this site but have read much of the previous pages. We are trying to decide whether to replace our newly-totaled 2013 Honda CRV EX with another used 2013 OR a 2014 OR a 2015. Before reading this, I thought a 2015 was out of the question, but it seems that there is very little difference in pricing between 14 & 15. I contacted Costco and Triple A buying services earlier today and the dealer calls are already coming in. Everybody wants us to show up, but from what I've seen on this blog, that's a waste of time. There seems also to be quite a discrepancy between invoice costs in different parts of the country. I am interested in learning the invoice price in OC, So. Cal area. The range on a 2015 FWD EX seems to be between $22,016 and $23,700 as seen on this site. We need to purchase by January 4 at the latest and knew that the last days of December would be advantageous for buyers. Any advice for me? We are quite frazzled...
I've been looking for a Touring CRV in the Atlanta, GA area. Like every where else, most dealers are in short supply. Luckily I'm in no hurry. They are quoting the following for any color 2WD CRV Touring:

- Start by emailing as many dealers as possible. I created an email folder so I could dump the plethora of auto-generated emails into one spot and sort through them later. - In your email I would tell them you are ready to buy "this week", preferably before the end of the year. - I made a spreadsheet to keep up with all prices and dealers with the salespersons name. - You'll know who is ready to play ball and usually can reduce to 3-5 dealers. - I would check TrueCar, Edmunds pricing, and I paid $14 for a report from Consumer Reports to get an idea of pricing. - Save any emails that a salesman took the time to generate as well, versus the auto-generated crap. The best price I received was during a casual email conversation with one guy. It was better than the price "the manager worked feverishly to get".
Good luck and keep us up on the progress! I am certain Stever and Brian can give you much better advice than I, but, these little helpful tips are making my shopping experience easier.
@socalgal2, invoice should be the same price across the country. The only difference is how some sites treat destination. Sometimes it's included in the invoice quote and sometimes it's not (and sometimes there's an additional destination charge for Alaska or Hawaii).
We have invoice under the Make|Model tabs above (and you can find the same info at most all the other car research sites). Ditto MSRP.
I'd reply back to the dealers that you are too busy with the holidays to come down and talk to them but that you definitely will buy by the end of the year, and you'll buy from the dealer that gives you the best "out the door" price. You may want to get some more quotes too.
@rlap, TMV is coming in at $23,276. Invoice is $22,785 including destination.
It's funny, but TMV is bumped up $51 in your zip code because of the Kona Coffee color.
So your selling price before fees is about $798 below invoice. A great price would be about double that, but the $1,500 to $2,000 off invoice quotes we were seeing last month were on 2014 models. The dealers are dealing but not as much on the 2015s.
You could ask the dealer to find an AWD one in the area with a color you like better and do a dealer swap.
The deals may wither a bit after New Years but if you buy something not quite "right" you'll have to live with it for the next 3+ years. Personally I'd rather pay a bit more and get what I want - $1,000 spread over three years is only $333 a year (ok, more in your case if you go up to the AWD, but still....). Bragging rights on a great deal are fun but why settle?
(And who knows, the deals may continue to be good after the holiday rush winds down).
I've been looking for a Touring CRV in the Atlanta, GA area. Like every where else, most dealers are in short supply. Luckily I'm in no hurry. They are quoting the following for any color 2WD CRV Touring:
I would also have to pay GA taxes and Title / Tag: $41.00
I'm interested in everyone's assessment of this price package.
Seems a little bit higher for 2WD, I recently purchased AWD Touring for 31,250 including Destination Fees. But I do suggest that I really liked the Touring model. If you really liked the color and ride, then go for it. But if you have time, them wait for a better price
Not sure if you really need AWD in Atlanta area, but for me in Cincinnati, I needed a AWD model. One thing for sure is there are very few Touring models and dealers are taking that as an opportunity for higher prices.
Interesting negotiations going on in Phoenix. One dealer made a high initial offer on a 2015 LX 2WD. Total OTD of $26,500 (with tint, cargo mat, zaktek). Way too high. My best OTD so far is $25,150 (with various accessories included).
Anyhow, this particular dealer is close enough to the house that I figured I might as well stop by to see if the dealer would go below $25,150 OTD (with tint, cargo mat, zaktek). The dealer then proceeded to open with a $29,300 opening OTD on the 2015 LX 2WD (nearly $3,000 above the email offer)! Needless to say, I won't be going back. I'm not particularly upset. More amused.
Moral of the story: I'm sure there are deals out there. However, the supply/demand is probably tilted toward the demand side (at least at this particular dealer in Arizona). The other moral of the story is that some dealers will try to pull the wool over your eyes. Don't let them!
I am in Tempe, AZ and also have been watching the local dealers. My interest is a 2015 Ex model msrp $26,300 but watching the inventory of this model here at Edmunds they are selling them as fast as they are coming in. At this point I am waiting for the lots to be full so the local dealers will be ready to sell below invoice price. I had great offers for a 2014 but am patient enough to wait for the 2015 deals. There is no reason for the locals dealers to sell them cheap when there is no inventory buildup on the lots.
There is no reason for the locals dealers to sell them cheap when there is no inventory buildup on the lots.
Good analysis I think. And CR-Vs have been selling so well, it's possible that lots of dealers have already made their 2014 quotas so they can ease off on the deals a bit.
Hi Tiffle - I'm also looking for a 2015 CRV AWD Touring in MA. These are great prices. Where did you get these quotes from? Who did you buy from and how much did you pay? Thanks for your help!
tiffletiffle Posts: 1 December 13 Hi, I'm a first time new car buyer here and living in MA. I am interested in 15 CR-V Touring and just received 2 internet quotes from 2 dealers. I'm not sure if they are good prices AND HOW MUCH SHOULD I OFFER? . Could you please advise?. Thanks for your help.
Dealer 1:
Pricing: 2015 Honda CR-V Touring awd MRSP $33,650 $30,631 Dest inc. + Tax, Reg & $295 Doc fee additional
Dealer 2: Pricing Breakdown
$30,984.05 Sale Price (includes $880 Destination Charge) +$1,951.44 6.25% Sales Tax +$135.00 Registration Fee +$239.00 Documentation Fee $33,309.49 Total "Out-The-Door" Price (No Hidden Charges)
Congratulations on your new purchase and would appreciate if you could share the dealership name and sales person if you can. Also, I was wondering what is the best price they quoted you for the EXL AWD model. Thank you.
Thank you for the quick response and info provided. You said your vehicle had no vibration and was wondering if you know if Honda has permanently fixed the issue or it is happening to few vehicles only and you would need to test drive to confirm?
I don't know if Honda has permanently fixed the issue. I was just stating MY experience with MY vehicle. I have no need to test drive any other CRVs since I have already bought one.
@thanhca How to PM you? Right now a dealer in Northern Cal is offering me $23792+TTL for a 2015 CRV EX FWD. I intend to buy at the end of December. What do you think of the offer i got so far?
Thanks Jerry
Bought the CRV this weekend for $23792+TTL including wheel locks and splash guards.

Ok thanks for your response and enjoy your new CR-V.
Many thanks to everyone on this board (and the 2014 board) for their contributions. It was a fun process. Started the email negotiation process with nine local dealers on Friday morning. Closed the deal on Sunday afternoon.
By Saturday night, I had some other dealers offering via email to come down to $25,000 OTD. I'm guessing I could have trimmed a few more hundred dollars off our deal had I continued to shop around. However, my wife and I ultimately wanted to give the local dealer and our excellent salesman (who ultimately took me on three test drives after my concerns over the vibration issue reported on this board and others) the business at the end of the day.
As noted above, I test drove three 2015 LX 2WD cars at my local dealer (and also warmed up a 2015 EX 2WD at a different dealer) to assess the reported vibration issues when the engine runs at low RPMs. I sat in all the seats and sensed only the slightest vibration (less than what I typically associated with a running car). My wife concurred. Only time will tell whether the issue creeps up in the car I purchased. I'll report back if it does.
So far, it's a very smooth ride. Thanks again everyone! Happy New Year!

I used a quote from Chapman Honda in Tucson to get my New Mexico dealer to lower his price, perhaps you can do the same or maybe even buy from them. Try Tom Reesing - Internet Sales Manager Chapman Honda Cell Phone - [Phone number removed]
Hi crv_2015, That looks like a great price. Could you please share the name of the dealer where you got it? Also, did you ask for the options or were they included beforehand in the vehicle you were looking at? Thanks!
Weymouth Honda was where I started. (They don't have any and won't have anymore until February). Silko Honda matched their prices but doesn't have any either. Majestic in RI also price matched (they have 1 steel grey and a white). Prime came in competitively, too.
Bernardi, Boch, and Herb Chambers wouldn't play.
I added the options I wanted.
I pre-ordered with Weymouth, as we've bought our last 3 Hondas from them, dating back to 2002. Their online pricing is rarely beat. They also offered the most for my trade.
(I found it pretty fast this time by using the little magnifying glass next to the page numbers in the 2014 discussion and searching for "template". I'm learning, finally, lol).
Hi crv_2015 - Thanks for your quick reply. This is very helpful. Enjoy your new CRV when you get it (it's on pre-order, right?). When does it arrive?
Would you mind sharing if your trade-in was close to Edmunds or KBB or NADA trade-in values or below? How did you go about negotiating your trade-in after making the deal on the new car via the web?
In fact, that's a question I have for brian125, stever and the others on this forum too. After one has negotiated an offer via email and confirmed it with a deposit, what is the suggested way to negotiate and get the best value on a trade-in? Would appreciate hearing suggestions.
Thanks, brian125 and stever for posting the link to the template email. Very helpful too.

About the best way to appraise your used car is to get a "real" quote from CarMax. Unfortunately not everyone is close to a CarMax. So that leaves getting your own quotes from your area dealers and getting the "book" quotes. One way to play it is to visit the Mazda or Ford dealer and ask for a trade-in quote, explaining that you are thinking of an Escape or CX-5, but that it's no use talking new prices until you have a clear idea of the value of your trade-in. Then see what the Honda dealer says.
If the Honda dealer low balls you too badly, ask for your deposit back and explain that you are also shopping the Escape and CX-5 (or Hyundai or whatever).
Bit of a pain I know. Depending on the tax structure in your state, you may be better off selling your trade-in privately.
Once you come up with what you think is a fair price, then the trick is convincing the dealer that your numbers are more realistic than theirs - well, that's often the dealers "real" profit. Used car sales often are way more profitable than new car sales (ditto the service side). So you have to make a bit of a push there too.
I likely won't have the car until mid-March. The next production dates are scheduled late January, it will take 2-3 weeks to build, and then will be shipped. The dealer is trying to get one sooner, but I'm not in a rush.
Once I had the agreed upon price, then I mentioned my trade-in.
As for trade-in value, I used the 4 large used car sites (Edmunds, AutoTrader, NADA, and KBB). Most came back between $5900 and $7000. Two dealers low-balled (Silko offered $4500, and Majestic offered $5000). You can also do "sell-my-car" on AutoTrader, and a local dealer will pay you cash for the vehicle (this came back at $5938).
I was willing to walk, and have walked out of quite a few dealers the past few weeks, as I knew I had the Weymouth quote to fall back on.
Thank you, crv_2015. This is very detailed and extremely helpful. Seems like you had a great plan and it worked out well. Appreciate your sharing these details with me and everyone else on this forum. I'm sure you're looking forward to getting the vehicle you've ordered. Happy New Year!

Hi stever - thanks for the really quick response to my post yesterday. This is very helpful. Some people say that the Carmax quotes are on the lower side. Any thoughts on that?
Also, appreciate all the effort you and brian125 put in to this forum. A very Happy New Year to all!

Yeah, that's the general consensus - their prices were better a couple of years ago (both offers to buy and prices on the lot). The home office has sold a few long term cars to CarMax within the last year or so for more than TMV though.
I liked the suggestion to get "firm" quotes from Auto Trader too.
There is only one day left in the year but I wanted to post this in the hopes that it can help somebody. I have saved a lot of money with the help of Edmunds forums and hope it saves someone else.
I just picked up a 2015 CR-V EX 2WD with a MSRP of $26,300 for a selling price of $23,250. This is in Southern California area and the dealers I had the best experience dealing with were from Metro in Montclair, Riverside, Buena Park, Carson, DCH Gardena, and Corona. Would not recommend wasting your time with Honda World Downey or Westminster. They don't answer internet requests and their salesmen were extremely rude and unwilling to negotiate when called.
I put in a $500 dollar deposit (refundable) to buy a Touring for ~31,600 (including destination). It is basically a invoice price deal . I called/emailed about 6 dealers around NY tri state region before locking in this price. The touring was in such a short supply- the best bids i got from 4 out of 6 dealers was invoice + 500 .The car was not immediately available- the dealer i put in deposit need to locate it to sell it to me.
My question is should I continue to shop for a better price or invoice price for CRV touring in NY tri state region is good enough deal? Any thoughts?
I just picked up a Honda CRV 2015 EX AWD yesterday and wanted to share my experience. Here's the breakdown of my car:
$24073.23 - Price of the vehicle $80 - Doc fee $2053.02 - Sales Tax (8%) $26 - License Fee $267.7 - Other Fees --------------- $26500.00 - Total
I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase since I initially was looking at a EX 2WD for this price and I definitely recommend you guys head out and take advantage of the year end deals! Best of luck!

Definitely for real. I'm in NorCal. The Sacramento area. I didn't trade anything in. I got an internet quote, walked in, test drove, and negotiated with them. They really wanted to do the deal because it was the end of the year.

Invoice to about 500 below is about tops here in this area NY/ NJ. . If selling dealer wont lower his price buy vehicle and enjoy it.

Not unless you plan on taking it "mudding"! (smile)
I am hoping to pull the trigger within the week, just waiting on my color! One of the high price dealers has the color I want, but they refuse to deal. So I'll wait.....
Good luck with your search
For some reason, good deals in md/va for white tourings. Seems like every dealer has white.
Just wanted to relay opening bids procured from Honda dealers in the Phoenix, Arizona area (8 dealers in the valley) procured on 12/26/2014 for the 2015 CR-V LX 2WD. First, the highest OTD bid:
Invoice $23,325
Add-Ons (zaktek) $399
Tax $1,929.09
Doc Fees $827.87
Total $26,520.96
And now the lowest OTD bid:
Invoice $23,004.05
Tax 7.95% $1,828.82
Plates and Doc fee $ 841.67
Total $25,674.54

Zip Code 60443 - Chicagoland area - Illinois
2015 LX 2WD - color Brown (Kona Coffee)
21,987 (destination charge included)
No add-ons.
166.27 DOC fee + 25$ electronic registration fee + 8$ city fee of some kind
x %8.25 tax
+title/plates
OTD after everything it comes to about $24200
Is this a great price. Or just OK?
Im seriously asking great, because I do not "love" the color (brown) and its only 2WD, while I prefer an AWD.
BUT... If its a great price I will be OK with color.
Definitely want an LX model. I do not want the EX which has a screen screen and other stuff that I do not need.
According to TruCar its about 140 below target.
According to edmunds True Market Value its 1300 lower (I feel edmunds may be wrong on this)
Was at the dealership early Friday. They wanted a deposit, I said no and I'll be back tomorrow with check. Didn't sign anything, so no obligation
2015 Honda Crv Touring 2wd: $30.562.00
Dealer Fees: 587.00
Electronic Filing fee: 79.00
I would also have to pay GA taxes and Title / Tag: $41.00

The dealer then proceeded to open with a $29,300 opening OTD on the 2015 LX 2WD (nearly $3,000 above the email offer)! Needless to say, I won't be going back. I'm not particularly upset. More amused.
Moral of the story: I'm sure there are deals out there. However, the supply/demand is probably tilted toward the demand side (at least at this particular dealer in Arizona). The other moral of the story is that some dealers will try to pull the wool over your eyes. Don't let them!
I went and picked up the car 2 days ago. Very happy. No vibrations observed like others have mentioned.

Hi,

Congratulations on your new purchase and would appreciate if you could share the dealership name and sales person if you can.
Also, I was wondering what is the best price they quoted you for the EXL AWD model.
Thank you.
Dealer: Jim Riehl's Friendly Automotive Group
Sales Person: Alyse (Don't want to give the last name on a public forum w/o permission)
Thank you for the quick response and info provided. You said your vehicle had no vibration and was wondering if you know if Honda has permanently fixed the issue or it is happening to few vehicles only and you would need to test drive to confirm?
Thanks.
Ok thanks for your response and enjoy your new CR-V.
2015 Honda CRV LX FWD (modern steel metallic/gray):

He gave me a 25,499 price for a 2015 EX AWD
Price: $30,934 (includes destination fee)
Options: $825.80 (remote starter, wheel locks, splash guards)
Sales Tax: $1986.68
Registration: $150
Documentation: $220
Total, Out the Door, Pricing: $34,143.48
That looks like a great price.
Good luck!!

Template thread
(I found it pretty fast this time by using the little magnifying glass next to the page numbers in the 2014 discussion and searching for "template". I'm learning, finally, lol).
Thanks again!!!
If the Honda dealer low balls you too badly, ask for your deposit back and explain that you are also shopping the Escape and CX-5 (or Hyundai or whatever).
Bit of a pain I know. Depending on the tax structure in your state, you may be better off selling your trade-in privately.
Here's another good resource:
Real-World Trade-In Values
Good Luck!!
Also, appreciate all the effort you and brian125 put in to this forum. A very Happy New Year to all!
I liked the suggestion to get "firm" quotes from Auto Trader too.
My question is should I continue to shop for a better price or invoice price for CRV touring in NY tri state region is good enough deal? Any thoughts?
I just picked up a Honda CRV 2015 EX AWD yesterday and wanted to share my experience. Here's the breakdown of my car:
$24073.23 - Price of the vehicle
$80 - Doc fee
$2053.02 - Sales Tax (8%)
$26 - License Fee
$267.7 - Other Fees
---------------
$26500.00 - Total
I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase since I initially was looking at a EX 2WD for this price and I definitely recommend you guys head out and take advantage of the year end deals! Best of luck!
