Hello again Michael! We just corresponded on Honda Accord Hybrid Touring Leases. Want to compare it to the BMW i3!

Assuming in SC (29926) BMW i3 w/range extender and selling price of $47,000, what would a 24 month, $0 down, 12k per yr monthly payment look like?

    Many thanks!!

Oh, dear. With that MSRP and selling price, along with the MF and residual I quoted above, I get a pre-tax payment of $688.99/mo for 24 months.

Using the 36/12 residual of 52%, the pre-tax payment drops a bit, to $633.20

Wow! Thanks for the info. That's a lot of money. My mortgage payment is less but I did have to put money down!

I wonder how a BMW dealer near Atlanta can advertise this "special". I realize the devil is in the details and plan on calling them on Monday. Appears they want you to put $5k down?..........

2014 BMW i3 with Range Extender now only $195 Per Month For 24 Months!

    Special Offer:

24-month well-equipped at $195 month! Includes all dealer fees.
    $12,500 Down
    -$7500 Federal Tax credit.

$5,000 Down After Applying Ga State And Federal Tax Credit!

Base MF is .00125 - dealer is marking that up on you.

$4875 lease credit available, so your negotiated price should be reduced by that amount - unless that is your cash due at signing.

    24/10 residual is 63%.

These are both incentives that can be used to reduce the selling price of the car or to offset the up front costs of a lease - first payment, acquisition fee, etc.

So does this sound like a good deal? and what do you come up with for the monthly

    Rate: .00125
    Residual: 63%

    24/10

    MSRP: $49,875
    -$5773 - Discout on car
    -$5500 - Lease Credit
    -$2000 - Build Out
-$500 USAA - But I think it should be $1,000

    $42,102 Sales price
    $6,000 in Rebates
    $31,421.25 Residual

    Rolled in
4.17 % VA Sales and use Tax
    $399 Dealer Processing

    Two different things..

    1) Rolling it in: This means adding the acquisition fee to the CAP cost and covering it in the monthly payment

    2) Acquisition fee waiver: Eliminating the fee by taking a bump in the money factor (.00035 was correct, last time I saw it).

It's almost always less money to do option #1. Option #2 is only cheaper on short-term leases of relatively low-priced models. Run the numbers both ways. You have a short-term lease, but you don't have a low-priced model.

    Looks like Virginia?

Taxes seem awfully high... Isn't VA tax 4.17% of selling price?

Not to mention, $599 doc fee... shewwwww

I asked the same question, this was the response....The lease structure that you see shows what you will be paying in property taxes over the next two years . It is not calculated in the deal . You only pay 4.2% sales on the sale price and processing fee. A lot clients get that confused . This structure is correct regarding your payments. You see the MF and residual . Everything is clearly on the sheet . Yeah the $599 looks like a markup on the deal, most other dealers in the area are right at or below $399....just trying to get $200 bucks out of it...

Oh and sorry yes sir Virginia.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 235,175

Oh and sorry yes sir Virginia.

Well.... the deal sheet is kind of useless without the CAP cost and what's included. They could put anything they want on there, if they say later what is and isn't included.

I'm not doubting them.. just an observation. At least you know it's the base money factor.

    Hello!
Trying to purchase an I3 and I'm coming up with a different payment than the dealer. Not sure if I'm calculating the payment correctly.

    MSRP: 45,650
Negotiated price: 37,518 (after 2000 build out)
    Lease rebate: 5,500
    Net cap: 32,018
    Residual: 57% on 30 month
    MF: .00125
    Tax: 8%

Covering drive off fees of $1,475 out of pocket ( not sure if that's reasonable or not for bmw). I get a payment of $294.27, dealer is at $328.27.

    Thanks

Thanks, I live in California. I have asked for a break down but cant get a clear answer. When I asked they stated that the "drive offs" get added to the cap cost and the $5500 rebate is applied AFTER cap cost and does not bring it down. I dont believe that is correct but I could be wrong.

Can you verify if there is still $7500 in lease incentives in Texas? My dealer (and the bmwusa site) is saying $500 buildout and $4875 in lease cash this month on 2014s.

We only show $4875 for 2015 models. If there was a mid-month change in the incentives, we wouldn't know about it.

what about 24 & 36 month residual on '15 models?
    60% for 24/15 and 50% for 36/15

    .00129 MF
What are numbers for 14 and 15. 10k/24 and 10k/36. Thanks.
