    Did you mean R-Design?

    T6 AWD R-Design - .00100 and 56% for 36/12; .00107 and 54% for 39/12

I sent as a message to Michaell and kyfdx but thought I would post here as well. Sorry that I'm long-winded in my typing. I'm a woman, can't help but give lots of details flanked by extraneous words :worried:
    The details:
2016 Volvo XC90 Momentum Plus- 900 miles (they loaned it in service a few times)
It literally has every bell and whistle, Bowers and Wilkins Sound, lighting package, convenience package, BLISS, all kinds of safety stuff including parking, heads up display, integrated booster seat... I won't bore you with details on the car. Here are the numbers.
BECAUSE it was loaned and is not at less than 100 miles I negotiated hard, and this is where I am.
    MSRP - 62,975
    Negotiated Price - 55,000
This lease is for 25,000 miles per year. Basically, I drive a TON and this was discussed at length.
Also, I am planning to put NO MONEY down, so the quotes below are based upon no money down.
Losing 1400 on my Infiniti QX60 trade :(

    Term Options
    30 (.000610 MF) 58.00 RES 950.34 monthly
    36 (.000610 MF) 54.00 RES 899.75 monthly
    39 (.000690 MF) 53.00 RES 870.76 monthly
    24 (.000610 MF) 64.00 RES 971.87 monthly

So, my question is, are the Money Factor and Residual Values fair?
What would be the best option, financially? My hubby thinks I like to change cars and will want something newer in 2 years, so he leans toward the 24 month option. I like the 39 month option because the payments are at 870.76.

First things first ... 25,000 miles a year is a lot for a lease. The numbers we have are for 15,000 miles per year:

    64% / 58% / 54% / 53%

Extra miles are charged at .20 per mile, deducted from the calculated residual.

Therefore, the deduction for the different lease terms are as follows:

    24 months - $4000
    30 months - $5000
    36 months - $6000
    39 months - $6500

Second, the MF looks to be for the T6; at least the dealer isn't marking that up.

Next, the $1400 of negative equity will be added directly to your payment - the more payments you have, the lower that hit is each month. (24 months = $58/mo, 36 months = $39/mo)

Last, what is the adjusted cap cost - this is the negotiated price plus taxes and fees, plus the negative equity. With that number, we can approximate the payment for you for each term.

If you wait, will you be in a better position with the negative equity?

You're making a vehicle that isn't cheap to lease to begin with much more expensive.

Hi Michael! Thank you for your reply and assistance. The MSRP is 62975. Agreed price is 55k plus 1400 negative equity and the following:
    920.11 taxes
    479.90 dealer fees
    16.50 fees
    Thus making it $57,816.51.

OR I could buy it and put 15k down. I'm basically in a position where we have no issue getting the car, we just want to make the smartest financial decision. I think within 3 years I would want a new car, my hubby thinks within 2 years.

Any help is so very much appreciated!

Also, I'm planning to take the negative equity out of the situation by getting more for the trade or just selling it on my own, outside of this deal.
So, if you take out the negative equity, I guess I'm still making it expensive because of high miles?
The thing is, if I put 15k down and then makes payments around 1k per minth, then after 2 years, I will be in the car for around 39k and it's hard to know if I would have any equity built up due to depreciation for high miles, or God forbid an accident or a fender bender further reduced the value.

Once again, really appreciate the advice!

At that price, and the mileage you drive, I'd just buy it. $55K is about $1100/mo. on a purchase, and you can sell it whenever you want to.

Thank you very much KYFDX! I lean that way as well but my hubby really likes the lease option. I guess if I really feel like I will only keep it for 2 years, I'd just need to compare the 2 year cost of ownership to the cost of leasing?
    Really appreciate this forum!

Is it typical for dealers to "pad" the base MFs you are quoting? Or is that considered an unscrupulous practice. Just wondering how firm you should stand your ground if they use a higher MF in their lease calculations, assuming that you qualify for the lowest MF.

Yes, dealer can inflate the MF for extra profit. If your calculations don't match theirs, and you suspect this, be polite and tell them you won't sign a deal with a marked up MF.

Thanks to Michaell and Kyfdx for confirming the terms of the XC90. I just want to share the deal that I was able to negotiate yesterday for the community. Had been all in on the 2017 T5 but was steered to the great terms on the leftover 2016 T8's.

2016 XC90 T8 Momentum AWD Hybrid fully loaded
30month/12K (30 month is the current sweet spot)
    MSRP: $76,710
    Selling price: $62,000
    Residual: 54% $41,413
Money Factor: 0.00033 (from 0.00083 with 10 deposits)
Capped Bank Fee: $995 (I know it's marked up but he wasn't budging as we also did deposits to cut into their profit)
    Capped Doc Fee: $80
    Gross Cap Cost: $63,075
    Net cap cost: $60,021

    Rebate of $4,585 applied as:
    Cap Cost Reduction: $3,054
    Sales tax on CCR: $275
    DMV: $544
    First Month: $712

    Base Monthly $653 + 9% tax

Drive offs of $7,500 covering 10 $750 refundable security deposits. Also received a check for $530 to cover the last payment of the current lease.

I thought this was a great deal on effectively a zero drive off lease for a loaded car.

Can I get the residual and money factor for the 2016 T8 AWD hybrid Inscription for 30/12 and 36/12?

Also, does the $4,585 credit apply to Inscription as well as Momentum models?

    - thanks in advance

I negotiated this for a friend of mine so I'm not aware of what issues people have complained about. That said, that's the advantage of leasing. The car is fully under warranty the entire term and with Volvo striving to be a luxury brand, I would expect any issues to be addressed with great service by the dealer.

Also, where we are in California, the T8 is eligible for a $1,500 electric car rebate. On the 30 month lease, that's another $50 a month off.

Primarily issues are with battery; system failure; inverter issues. There's some recall planned as well. I love XC90 T8 but because of these issues in forums leaning toward X5 40e.

Those don't sound minor and certainly explain the big discounts and low residuals! Is a comparably equipped 40e about the same to lease?
