Hoping to place an order for the facelifted 2017 Audi S3 (Prestige) soon. What kind of rates can I expect? Does special ordering change anything or hurt my negotiating leverage?

No rates yet for the 2017 S3.

If you are ordering a car with no firm numbers in place, it can't help.
"Your" car shows up, and then you have to negotiate? Doesn't put you in a great position.

Would like to know as well...

When are rates usually released for the month? The 17s are on some dealer's lots already so how do they go about selling those vehicles w/o rates?

The last post in this discussion was September 21st.
To answer your question, dealers get the rates immediately. We aren't dealers, so we don't have that access.

Do you have a specific model you want to know about?

Right, so i was hoping that the MF and Residual would be out for the 17s.

I am looking at a 2017 S3 , most likely a 36mo12k mile lease. Not sure if Im going with a premium plus or a prestige yet... so both rates would be great.

Greetings. I have an offer on the table for a 2017 S3 lease with the following figures:
    MF: 0.00095
RF: 57% (w/ Audi Care increase)
    Discount off MSRP: 7.9%

I would be turning in a leased S4 prematurely, but paying no disposition fee or other penalty. There is a gap of approx. $3,000 between trade-in value and lease payoff which is being rolled into the net cap cost. I prepared a spreadsheet to run the numbers and I think they're good; my monthly payment on the S3 will be a bit lower than what I'm paying on the S4 currently. Just looking for a second opinion on the basic terms (MF/RF/MSRP discount) and to see whether I haven't considered anything important. I'm in the DC metropolitan area.

    Thanks!

Need to know the MSRP and adjusted cap cost (with the negative equity rolled in).

Why not wait until the S4 lease is up, and avoid the extra cost? That $3000 is $84/mo on the new lease, all by itself.

Thanks. MSRP is $51,505 and adjusted cap cost including Audi care, state tax, all dealer fees, and negative equity ($3,300) is $53,081. My math indicates a monthly payment of $723, which is $12 less than my current payment.

The honest answer to your question is that I'm completely bored with the S4. First, it's severely lacking in basic technology (no nav/bluetooth/etc.); I thought this wouldn't bother me as much as it does. Second, the S3 to me is considerably more fun to drive in almost every measurable way. The S4 lease is up in May 2018 (42 month lease) and that seems so far away. I wish I had a rational answer to your question....

    Thanks again!

Do you have a local CarMax? You may get a better quote from them to buy your S4, and while you still might have some negative equity, you could simply pay off the lease balance and not roll it into the new lease.

$700+/mo is a lot of money for a $50K car.

Thank you. I managed to get my trade-in up to $39k, and so my negative equity is now $2,800 on this transaction. The negative equity is what's driving my payment into the $700 range. The problem with selling the car to CarMax is that I would then have to pay full sales tax (6%) on the new car; in my state, I get a credit for the trade-in and so with this arrangement my taxes are relatively modest ($525 vs $2,864 based on purchase price). My monthly payments are currently $735 on the S4 are $735, and the new payments would be $707. I realize this isn't the most savvy transaction, but to me it'll be worth it. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Hi Michael - So am I reading this right? The 2016 and 2017 S3 have the same base MF of .00095 and residual of 54% (P+)? So since there isn't any cash available on the 2016, then the 2017 may work out a better deal? Usually isn't the residual better on the 2017 than the outgoing 2016 and the MF better on the outgoing 2016? I thought you show them as the same residual and MF for 2016 and 2017?

    That is incorrect

    S3 Premium Plus 36/10
    2016 - .00009 and 54%. $2000 marketing allowance and complimentary first payment.
2017 - .00079 and 57%. No marketing allowance, but complimentary first payment still exists.

Michael- OK, got it. Is that really four zero's or should it be .0009? What is the residual adder for 12k/15k? Is that $2000 allowance available in Texas? And do I treat similar to cash/rebate to arrive at adjusted cap cost in the lease calculator? Thanks!

    That is incorrect

    S3 Premium Plus 36/10
    2016 - .00009 and 54%. $2000 marketing allowance and complimentary first payment.

    Thanks for your help.

You don't want to lease any Audi for 48 months ....

    42/12 numbers are much better ... 49% and .00072. Add 1% for 10K

    Complimentary first payment.

Be polite and tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF - they know what the base rate is.

Might be a good idea to reach out to other Audi dealers, to get them to compete against one another.

Thanks for the response Michaell, and for redirecting me to the correct forum post.

I see a post here from Dec 11 with 57% res for the same config 36/10 P+. Did the values drop this much to 53% since then?

Also, on the Audi website, it says the 1st month payment promo applied to financed cars. I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but does that also include leased cars?

And finally, for the $2000 marketing allowance. Let's say I already negotiated 8.5% off MSRP with the dealer, can I tack the $2000 on top of that or is that unrealistic?

    Thanks again for the advice
