So Toyota in my area has a 2017 Highlander XLE AWD lease promotion of $299/mo 36 mo $4099 due at signing ($3150DP + 650 fee+ first month). Money factor is .00149. MSRP is $41,189 and residual value is $28,009. I'm new to leasing, but using calculator tools I'm working into a monthly lease payment more like $225, not $299.

Does this forum provide guidance on whether such lease promotions are truly "deals" - i.e. better than normally available lease terms? The money factor and residual % appear identical to those referenced elsewhere. Any guidance is much appreciated.

1. We don't recommend any sort of DP for a lease - it masks the true cost, and the money is at risk if the car is stolen or totaled
2. You may be able to do better on your own, depending on your negotiation skills.

How much is due at signing? Just the $513?

Residual is 65% of MSRP. How much is due at signing? Just the $513? Looks like a good deal.

I'm sorry, we do not have any reliable lease numbers for the states that are part of SE Toyota (FL, GA, AL, NC, SC)

What does the $3000 at signing cover? We recommend you roll the taxes and fees into the payment.

2017 Highlander SE w/ winter matts
First payment down
3years/36k $394 a month (includes Taxes, GAP + EWU)
Our first lease so for $360 we took the EWU--- with no money down $172 for GAP was a no brainer.

Can get more specific numbers if it helps anyone.

Is it $0 down or $0 due at signing? Where is the acquisition fee?

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and how they got to that number from the selling price.

hey thanks Michaell. So we are putting no money down. Also the cap cost is the selling price I mentioned. Just spoke to the dealership and they said the residual is .00235.
