You are confusing CAP cost reductions with lower MSRPs.

On a specified deal, if the price changes by $1000, the payment changes by about $30/mo. (for a 36 month lease)

But, if you have a $50K MSRP vehicle and the payment is $500 mo., then a $49K MSRP vehicle would be about $490/mo., all else being equal.

So even if the sale amount between the two cars is equal so:

MSRP $51,000 sale price $46,000
MSRP $50,000 sale price $45,000

so the cap cost reduction is a $1,000 difference that still only makes the monthly payment $10 less?

You are confusing CAP cost reductions with lower MSRPs.

With those numbers, I get $495/mo plus tax. What is the tax rate where you live? Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, which is the selling price plus any taxes and fees you are not paying up front. That might explain the difference in payment.

Adjusted cap cost is $43,972.71.

How do the numbers look?
I get $551/mo, so pretty close to the dealer quote.

Based on the current market is this a good deal?

This is what I got today. They're saying total drive off is my down payment of $1200 and monthly of $540. When I did the calculations versus the $530 monthly of a lower MSRP they were only $2 off of what I had gotten. But again I don't have a breakdown of the fees

In case anyone cares: We just left Audi Richfield (Minnesota) without a deal. We are looking at a 2017 S3 with MSRP of $49410. We asked for $4400 off bringing the price to $45010. The finance guy walked up and said "Take it or leave it" best price he could do was $45900. We walked out. Not sure I'm happy or sad. Looking at some of the prices posted here, I'm tempted to start working out of state. Add to that, it looks like we are eligible for $500 Loyalty as we are leasing a 2015 A6 which has three payments left of $640.

Would you have been willing to split the difference at $45500? End of the month, and dealers may be looking for that one sale to give them a volume bonus.

This is a lease quote on a 17' S3 Premium Plus fully loaded. 36/42mo 15k a year.
I prob could of done a better job negoiating the price of the car. I'm terrible at that.

Yes, you want to target 6% off the sticker price as your selling price.

And, we also suggest that you limit the up front cash to just the first payment and DMV / registration costs.

What dealer? I showed this to my local dealer and they said they couldn't touch it. They said they could do $580/month. Could this deal be possible on a Prestige trim? The MF difference is only .1 percent.

This is with 0 down except for fees and first month. Yo front is 2700. They have taken about 9K off sticker. Is audi still offering complimentary first month?

That pricing is incorrect:

1. No mention of the acquisition fee
2. FL taxes the monthly payment on a lease, not the entire selling price

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost.

And, you might want to do some research on those registration costs - $798 seems like a lot.

The acquisition fee is located on this page which was from their initial offer. The fees did seem a little high but apparently Florida has the highest documentation fee. They are also outlined here but with the previous numbers. So what should tax be in the case of my current offer?

Just a quick update, I have repeatedly reached out to the dealer for the adjusted cap cost and they are ignoring my request which leads me to believe they are being shady and adding on unknown fees. What I want to know is, is there a way we can figure out what the pricing should be?

Thanks Michaell. Yea the MF markup is expected, especially on a first pass quote, but not sure where the dealer is getting the .48 residual from. Either way an $1100+ lease payment on this car is crazy, as you mentioned. A 60 mo. loan is roughly the same payment.
