Yeah - we've pretty much seen all or most of the listings - his preference is a 2010/11 that has a battery that hasn't degraded excessively. Looks like the blue 2008 has around 140 miles of range fully charged. The gray 2010 is charging to 200 mile range. Also, the 2010/11s apparently have better info tech features. He's still working with the dealer on the price to see if they can come to terms.

Which, of course, means the most practical, most logical answer would be a minivan. (ducking and running for cover)
Van would be used just for trips with the family and gear in tow.

If your truck was somewhere in the south, the fact that it has 4WD wouldn’t matter as much as it does that it is in NH (where a 2WD truck would be unsellable).

I was going to say, the engine would almost have to be the 5.3L. But ... it could possibly be the 6.2L, not very likely, but could be.
what are they asking for it?
For most cars, I’d say $41k, but I have a feeling this would be tough given the rarity. Might need to cough up another $1k.
This board is always so helpful and I am thinking my next vehicle will be a used electric.
The EV's with range over 200 miles seem to hold their value pretty well- which as of now is Tesla and Chevy Bolt.
Most asking prices on 2017 Bolt Premier are high $20's which is what I can get a new one for with dealer discount and after 3750 tax credit.
Are these bolts doing well at the auctions?
I would think that EV's like the i3, leaf, and e-golf are a good value on the secondary market.

As quick as EV technology (i.e. range) is improving, buying a used EV is like buying an iPad from 2014.

HOWEVER, does it really make sense at $7k-$7500 more than a 2017 Volt LT?

First Up:
1) 2017 VW Alltrack SE 1.8T DSG White Exterior, Black Interior, 30,000 miles. In good shape but the rear bumper did have to be reworked after a parking lot ding. I noticed you can tell the rear bumper was repainted on the edge between the taillight and the metal. Probably above average body shop work, but my advice on body shops is to look from 5' away or more. San Diego.
Second up:
2) Lease return, currently 2016 Kia Optima LX Turbo 1.6T Sedan, White metallic, beige interior (still mostly black), 32,000 miles, dual clutch auto. Good condition. San Diego. Will anyone other than Kia offer a deal worth returning the lease early? Starting to get emails from Kia that they really want '16 Optimas, go figure!

Again, sorry. 5.3 liter V8. It is having some minor paint work done right now on the right rear quarterpanel. Minor scuffing that needs to be touched up.

I’ll take a stab at $10.5k. That’s about an $800 hit for the handshaker by the book in my imagination.

>> Apparently you have the only manual made. ;b
Funny.
Also funny: our new neighbors across the street just got a new Cruze sedan. Manual. Must be something in the water.
Ya, definitely. Their next door neighbor has three Saabs..
So I'm going to have to pony up around twelve k to buy this thing....not bad for a nearly new car that I kinda like to drive...but it feels a little fragile. Paint is thin, fast shifting into 2nd leads to grinding... do I trust the turbo? I'ma have to think how much we like it as time goes on.
With our super short commutes of less than ten minutes, and sharing rides in the cold months, the ultimate luxury isn't leather seats and quiet, it's a small engine that heats up fast and seat heaters sourced from the toaster factory.
At my age and station in life, I should be driving a 2009 E class wagon and try to look like I bought it new...
It means I side swiped my sons truck in my driveway at slow speed and scuffed up the paint on the right rear quarter panel and my insurance is paying for the repairs/paint right now. When I go to trade it it will look brand new.
As far as I know, NOBODY sells a manual transmission car with a remote start. The reason is pretty obvious; I could install one myself but I've got almost four decades of muscle memory leaving my car in gear... so I'm one failed interlock away from a mishap with serious downside potential. Also it's wasteful. Until the previous winter, I used to ride my bicycle to work at least a couple times a week, in the snow. Very entertaining, but I'm scared of distracted drivers. Anything with a windshield is a step up...
It is always difficult to price things like this without laying hands on it. With the resprayed panel and pending carfax ding, I’m going to hit it at about $31k-$32k. That’s not to say you won’t get lucky and a UCM will totally lose his/her mind and give you 35. I certainly wouldn’t if it were me, though.

He's just trying to get all of the information he can so he can give you an accurate trade in value for your truck. We aren't trying to break chops or be snarky.
