Just pulled the trigger last night on a 2019 MKZ Reserve II AWD 3L with luxury package:

MSRP: $54,737
Discounted: $5,900 from dealer (They ate 4 remaining lease payments = $2,600, plus $670 over mileage, and likely some kind of damage cost)
Ford incentive: $4,000
I don't have the exact cap cost number handy but it was like $48,xxx

I had a question about the residual on the MKZ. In the area where I live the MSRP is listed on one part of the Monroney sticker as, say $47,750. Then right underneath that number is an item called "NE Special Discount - $750" and it is subtracted from the "original" MSRP to leave what I guess you could call a "new" MSRP which is listed at the bottom of the sticker, and in this example it would be $47,000.

My question is: which MSRP is used to determine the residual-the higher MSRP "before the NE Special Discount" or the lower MSRP after the discount? Anyone know? Thanks.

Thanks for the info Michaell. And yes, that is favorable for me, as I figure that the residual based on the higher MSRP is worth about $20/mo or so, compared to a residual if it was based on the lower figure. Over the course of a 36 month lease that amounts to about $720. You can buy a lot of gasoline with that. Not bad.

Looking at a 2020 MKZ for my mom. She was quoted $44,190 Sale Price, $22,978 residual, 2.5% rate, 36 months at 7,500 miles a year comes out to payment of $670 which includes 7% sales tax. 46217 Zip.

Payment seems high and that was nothing off MSRP. Any news on numbers for 2020s?
