So is 3/36 B2B + 5/60 powertrain worse than 4/50 B2B? Perception wise probably, reality wise who knows.

Congrats on your new role! So is part of your responsibilities defining what goes into an extended warranty as well as trying to increase owners switching to them?
Ken
Anyway, I'm excited about owning another SUV except I don't think this one will be as thirsty as my Expedition. The wife will be driving it and I know she's happy about it too.
I'll prolly spend most of my time in the repair/maintenance forum since it has 53k on it LOL.
Heh, I guess that gives me 7000 miles to ask Patti a question

I wish you many happy and safe miles in your new ride!

You de(wo)man!!!

Then you'd have to be selling chromed Dubs and Bling. So maybe not.
;-)
Warranty Gold went under and that was well publicized. The scary thing is they were AA rated for credit right before they sunk, so there was no warning at all.
I think what you should remind shoppers of is that 3rd parties don't sell warranties at all, they sell insurance. And I'm sure the disclaimers limit what gets covered. They can also mandate the use of aftermarket parts vs. OE, to keep costs down.

Cheers Pat.
Many Congrats!!! And I agree... well deserved indeed :-)
OK, now, guess who? Check the title for one clue.
Bonus if you can guess where he/she will be published.
-juice
Steve, Host
So, I guess juice and Washington Post.
DaveM
Don't be too quick to assume that you'll be spending much time in the repair/maintenance forum, unlike some other makes <cough> Ford <cough>, Subaru's in general are pretty reliable and the Forester is no exception.
-Frank
Cheers Pat.
-Frank
Dave - very clever, but that wasn't intentional, so no, it's not me. Nor is it the Post.
But who else went on a trip and did a lot of networking with our Subaru peers?
C'mon, now that should be easy, any more guesses?
-juice
Bob was the one doing most of the networking in Detroit and Vegas. He met Jacoby from Subdriven, and one thing led to another.
So now Bob has a little soap box to stand on and express an opinion once in a while. His article will be a letter in the Opinions/Editorials page.
Now, guess who will be submitting the next Editorial to them? That would be me (so DaveM was right after all). :-)
We'll see where this leads, but the goal is to obtain press credentials and gain access to the Subaru press fleet. Can you imagine how cool that would be?
It's not a paid gig, but it's a foot in the door. The Subaru community is small and tight knit and they understood that we both want to remain on Edmunds as Crew Chiefs and that was a pre-requisite to agreeing to contribute articles in the first place.
So basically my hope is this will only expand our role.
The tough part? Keeping my mouth shut! If they ever let us preview drive a vehicle it'll be very hard for me to honor the press embargos!
-juice
Bob
But I'm a reasonable person. So I'll give up one of those criteria. ;-)
Did I mention the folding hard top? LOL
-juice
It sounds like fun, and as juice said, it sounds like we will have access to press vehicles to do write-ups on. Should be fun.
Our role here at Edmunds is not changing, and have no fear, we are NOT abandoning this group in any way shape or form. We've both built up too many valued relationships here, which we both treasure highly.
Bob
DaveM
P.S. Congratulations guys! Hopefully the B9X has extra headroom for those BIG heads. :-D
I'm happy for you guys!!!
Now tell them what we need in that SUV: H6 @ 275HP/275TQ and a Twin Turbo option H6 @ 400HP/425TQ with 6 speed on both trims.
Oh.. and to hurry up the premium class (bigger) sedan, with all the bells & whistles ;-)
You mean the B11TStt PE (boxer 11 touring sedan twin turbo - paisan edition)?
I'm still trying to get that helmet off from Las Vegas, but it's too tight.
Bob
-Dennis
I think the Subaru community is small enough to understand that we can accomplish more on a cooperative basis, helping each other out.
Actually I just want an STi press car for a week, them I'm all set.
Hopefully my article will be posted tonight, once I get them my photo, and you guys can read my "wish list" for the B9X.
Interestingly that's exactly what people have mentioned so far, so I think my editorial represents the feelings of most of the Crew.
I hope Bob knows I didn't mean to step on his toes. I was almost sure his article would be posted first.
-juice
Not a problem whatsoever.
Bob
MazdaSpeed 6 vs. Legacy GT article, anyone? :-)
-juice
Cheers Pat.
I agree, that's the competition/review everyone (especially nabisco) wants to see. Some people are already jumping ship...
The 6 had rust issues early on, now they're rated "Worse than Average" by CR. I like the 3, though, and the MPV. Miata and RX8 are RWD so those will be fun.
So we'll see. Should be fun.
What I'd really love to do is test the B9SC against the Miata replacement!

Congrats to Patti for a well deserved promotion. I'm sure you will help in a big way in that area.
Congrats to Bob and Juice on the press job. I'm sure it will be very tough for you guys to have to test out a car for a few days:-).

As for Juice and Bob, well, they are just having fun! And we'll never feel sorry for them....
