I've been quoted $814.25/month for a 2020 T6 Momentum 7 seater metallic paint, 20 inch wheels, 36 month/15k miles with $1000 down. I'd like to counter, but when I used a lease calculator and the numbers provided in this forum, the monthly came out to around $679/month. Is this a ridiculously low counter, or should I go for it? I've never actually negotiated a lease or finance of a car, so I have just been using what I've read online.

“I understand there is currently a Volvo incentive of $2000.

Based on the local TrueCar fair market value of $53,538 (11% off MSRP), including the Volvo incentive and I’m assuming an acquisition fee of $995, and tax of 8.25%, the lease using the 0.00159 rate and 59% residual, would be approx $675/month.

If we can get there, I’d love to come in by Friday to sign the paperwork.”

And his response was as follows... I don’t really understand what he is saying. Can anyone help me understand please?

“ And I’d love to sell you the car! (but your calculations are off…)

Tax rate is .08625 and you are figuring with first month and taxes due at signing.

The best price we could sell the car at is $55,068 The True Car number already includes the Volvo incentive.”

Rickenbaugh, there is the acq fee but no added dealer fee. They wouldn't budge on the above deal and I wasn't interested in tying up money in MSD's with a second baby (and daycare) on the way lol. Ended up with the above deal but got more than expected on my trade. Good but not great IMO but quick and easy. Thanks for the help!
