MSRP on the 2020 EX was $28,700. We also realized that we probably could have gotten a better deal if we waited until the end of December but were getting tired and thought this wasn't a bad deal for a 2020 EX. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Quick question: I live in TN. If i buy the car in KY, will the dealer collect all the taxes or do i withhold until i go to register the car and pay then? i'm afraid a dealer will scam me by giving a lower OTD price and then when i get to my county clerk, i'll still owe more taxes.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What is the MSRP?

Are you paying cash of financing?

You have to get the details on any offer. You can't assume an OTD price includes tax, without asking.

$165 discount from MSRP doesn't seem very good.

Maybe you have a typo?
Hard to see how the OTD price you gave above includes tax, given it is less than $1000 over the sale price.

That seems like a great deal to me, considering Edmunds suggested price is $28,007 with out taxes and fees.

Eliminate the pricing guesswork in NJ . Do your own research .. Here is how. Dealers that wont negotiate online, by phone remove off your list move onto the next dealer.

I would email / call 15 closet NJ dealers Internet mangers / dept , ask each dealers mgr. IF you buy/ lease vehicle by end of this month or day of call... would dealership sell @500 below models invoice price for a immediate sale. Its a... Yes or No answer.... Or at worst a counter offer to your buying price.

Try these NJ dealerships in addition to yours

DCH Academy / Kay,Paramus , Garden state, Auto-sport, Clinton , Route23, Mahwah for starters

- Price before TTL was $31,978, so $5,227 off MSRP and $1,240 below "invoice"
- New Orleans area but dealer was about 100 miles away.

A few 2019 Hybrid Touring were around but could not get a price that reflected the extra year.

Note: also received trade-in very close to my request for 2017 Accord Hybrid EX-L so happy overall with the deal.

Dealer drove down and swapped new car for trade-in. Very nice transaction.

Looking at negotiating on a 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid EX for my F-I-L.
MSRP $30475, Invoice is $27995. No trade in, and no added options needed. Will either finance (his credit score is above 800) or pay cash.
We live in Florida- so dealer fees are steep- anywhere from $700-900. Tax is 6.5%, license and registration about $350.
How much below invoice is a reasonable offer, especially with the Coronavirus pandemic (I would try to negotiate everything on line, including delivery if a local dealership will play the game)?

I'm right in the exact boat as you, 2020 Hybrid Accord EX (except in TN)--so curious to see what you can get. I've received 3-4 quotes and the "best" offer they give me is around $31,000. I feel like the target price based on my actual best out the door offer of $30,431, would be $29,000-$29,500 based on what's going on and how likely their traffic has slowed.

Please update after you pull the trigger with sale details!

I was asking for what other people have paid because EX models were from back in November or December or 2019. So I was wondering if anyone have bought it recently.
And I am still shopping around.
The quote I got, excluding tax, fees, and licensing was 24,438.
The MSRP is 28875. I think I can go down more on price since this is the second dealer I contacted.
I have not even try to contact dealership saying if they can offer better deal then what I got.

Although I didn't purchase, I did get a True Car certificate price from Gwinnett Place Honda for a 2020 EX 1.5 T- MSRP $28875, sales price $23875 (no this is NOT a typo), Dealer fee $749. They had a whole bunch of useless add ons that I would have refused. OTD price (if registered in my home state of Florida) was right around $26500.

Yes..It's been a couple of weeks, but my offer of $29,000 out the door for a 2020 Accord EX Hybrid was not accepted. The dealership (Honda World) stood firm at $29,850.OTD.

I did test drive the 2020 1.5 EX, the 1.5 LX, the 2.0 EX and the 1.5 EX-L

I did make an offer, that was accepted, on a lunar silver 2020 Accord EX-L. Now this was a certified preowned car. It was titled in January of 2020. Listed as a "Courtesy Car". The car only had 1,239 miles.

Dealer sticker price with add ons: $31,995
Dealer internet price. .... ... $28,650
Dealer discounted to .. . ..: ... $26, 650

I negotiated a $28,300 out the door price.
The dealership broke that down as follows:
Selling price of car: $26,090
Dealer fee: $599
Sales tax: $1,565.43
Incidentals: xxx

Put $4,000 down. Financed thru Honda. 2.99% at 5 years.

I did buy a 9 year/150,000 miles bumper to bumper extended warranty thru Honda Care. Finance manager offered at $1,900. I negotiated to $1,600. I have 60 days to cancel, but that money would be put towards the balance of loan. So, it would be paid off earlier. Any opinions on my extended warranty or it's price? Any other questions, feel free to ask/tag me.
