Given there were more than 100 people, there is no way they could answer even 1 question per guest in just 60 minutes.

Ross (mainly trying to see if I can post now)
One chat room would be helpful. Patti, you PM'd me a question and were gone within 10 seconds. :-) I was busy trying to figure out where everyone was going and couldn't go to different rooms for some reason.
Questions ahead of time may be more helpful. A lot of questions are things that can be answered in the owner's manual.
Who was the moderator besides juice?
My 2 cents. :-)
-Dennis
Patti was floating around, but the Q & A was handled by the Edmunds host. I thought he did well given lots and lots of questions did get through.

Must have switched over to a turbo-charged server, and the turbo haven't spooled up yet earlier

I talked to pf_flyer/Bob this morn. He was one of last night's chat moderators. He is guessing there were 400-450 at last night's chat!!!! That may be a record for Town Hall.

*gasp* 400 people! My estimate was way too low!

I have a friend looking for a WRX and he doesn't want to trek to SW Jersey. A guy in SI doesn't want to confirm a price on the phone.
(oops, this should've been in "Dealers")

Oh well. I was curious to have that question answered, too. It's the perfect question for our list to submit in advance, though. Maybe Patti can twist their arms into joining us for another chat without advertising it?
-juice
edit: He wants red and they found one with 20 miles on it at another dealer. By them time they get it, it will have 150.
Would you guys buy a WRX with 150 supposedly non-test driven miles? I don't think I would.
juice- I was ready to go with my 3 part question on torque splits.
1. Any truth to the urban legend about locking the split in "R" or "1"?
2. Max range of the VC? I've heard from 10/90 - 90/10.
3. Max range of the VTD split?
-Dennis
Kudos to KH for fielding so many questions. 400 participants is amazing!!
The questions seemed to be bipolar: RTFM or owner specific. I think for most of us here, the few general questions we already knew the answers to. If you think about it, that's what we normally see in the General Maintenance and Repair topic in Subaru Crew. People either ask very basic stuff in the owner's manual or they're looking for specific items that they really should be taking up with a dealer.
For a topic of this nature, I think it might have been helpful for Edmund's to collect questions before hand and generate a list of FAQ. This way, our Rick and Pete could rattle those off first and then field deeper questions.
The other way to do it is make the chat topic more specific: general maintenance questions regarding Subaru engines and oil type. There were lots of questions about oil and oil changes last night.

Now if we can just get the kinks worked out...

I can understand the argument to make the switch early due to the leaky seals argument, but if you do switch early, why couldn't you just switch back to conventional?

I do have to say it was quite fun watching a little craziness developing in there at times. :-)

Doesn't apply to me... I just turned 70K.
Cheers!

Good question, Jillian. In a follow-up question, they said 6500 miles was not too late to switch, FWIW.

Read any of the toyota sludge topics lately?

Had the armrest repaired today by an outfit who specialise in this type of repair, it turned out well, hows that for OCD. repaired within a day.
Cheers Pat.
Jillian
I'm sure you'll be pleased with things as we grow and learn.
Have a great weekend! I'm off to the beach!
Patti
Patti- Have a great time! I'm jealous!
I do have synthetic in my Miata's tranny, and can vouch for it being a little easier to shift in very cold temps.
Jillian: I can get a new one for $26,367 from Fitz. He may want to consider a lower asking price - maybe $24k or so.

Interesting it was fun to loose traction with the XT6 for the first time in like 20+ auto-xs since it was the first one I ran w/o R-compounds since I bought them last season. Another interesting thing was that there was so much torque on the XT6 that I was able to spin a tire on each axle coming out of the corners. No LSD on it, but I was even more suprised that my rear inner tire spun more often than my fronts, which might lead me to believe a 30/70 torque split that has been reported by some XT6 MT owners. Someone got shots of me at this link on the I-club. http://i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=176314

Nice job getting the XT6 into the "dog relieving himself" position.

mike: Cool photos! You're one of the few folks who have complimented the RE92s. BTW, who was that mini Rover in the last shot?
Ken

You would have thought the tires were gonna 'blow' ;-)
the rear right was smoking on that first turn
-Dave
Auto-x: Dog-lift. Yeah with the WRX tires (5% higher) it doesn't help my body roll much. But I was just out there having fun, finished 11/13 in STS class, 40something/100 in the PAX. But it was all good cause the guy who runs in H-stock with me down in Englishtown goes for points with the region we ran with yesterday so he got to win H-stock where I'd normally run with my Rs and likely would have beat him.
Thanks for Dave and his GF for coming out!
