I was talking to my friend who has a 2017 Audi S8, and I said there are some cars that don't have many dealers....I would probably not buy one of those because if it broke down it would be hard to find a dealer.
He drives to Arizona for the winter....about 2400 miles and he said there are hardly any Audi dealers on the way there. He said he might consider a Lincoln or Cadillac SUV next time, there are a lot more dealers.
I don't think he would switch, but the same thoughts have gone through my mind.
If your sodium level is high you can use No Salt which is potassium chloride (not exactly the same but you get used to it). I did that but then my Potassium level went up to just over the recommended limit, so now I use Half Salt.......the other half is potassium chloride, that way I don't get too much of either one.
That's what I've used for years. Unlike No Salt, which tastes like dried-up battery acid, the Half-Salt variety sort of tastes like salt.
I never put salt on anything. And barely add when cooking. Though I’m sure packaged stuff (like boxed rice pilaf you still have to make) is loaded with it.
That they do. I would never do this. I got approved to be an Uber driver but didn’t want strangers riding in my car. No way in heck I would let one drive it, even if was was riding along! Just handing them the keys, never.
Lots of folks are leasing cars, specifically to use for Turo. I think there is a couple here in Colorado who have 7 or 8 Wranglers available. If you can rent them for $100/day, would not need that many days to cover the lease and insurance costs for a month.
But, getting the vehicles to begin with is the challenge, at the moment.
So $400/month lease, $100/month insurance and upkeep is $500/month per car. Is they really get $100/day, 10 days rented is 100% ROI. Is that reasonable? Too high?
Also seems it moved (at least for them!) from the original concept (make spare cash from your car when you aren’t using it) to being basically a small rental car company.

Wrangler? $500/mo. lease. I think Turo provides the insurance for the renter, but you'll need your own insurance. Once State Farm finds out you are renting out your car, that's probably closer to $300/mo, if they'll insure you.
Also, I'd imagine that Turo takes a pretty good chunk of the $100/day. I bet it's 12 days/mo or more to break even.
Had the classic chicken sandwich at KFC again today for lunch and was quite happy with it, it was that good! Popeye's better be looking over it's shoulder's as KFC's tastes about as good as theirs, honestly, it is that good!! I'd encourage y'all to get over to both places and taste them. The sandwich at Chick-Fil-A just doesn't is o k but these other two guys have them beat, by a large margin. I look forward to getting either one of them more than I ever thought and just guessing the word hasn't gotten out bout how good KFC's sandwich really is!! I'm not a real "foodie" kind of guy to be honest, ever since I got sick a couple years ago with those nasty gallstones, and since then, food is just nourushment(?) for me really, but these two sandwich's are just outstanding in every sense of the word folks!! Hell, we've discussed almost everything in here, so might as well give this one a shot. But trust me, y'all gotta try both of these and see for yourselves!!!
Sounds yummy, but how is the salt content? And by adding condiments make a palatable sandwich even worse. When I was younger I didn't mind the high salt content but today I just can't ingest this stuff. Perhaps they should offer two versions: normal and low salt---and hold the sauces ketchup.
You can get half of your "Daily Value" of sodium in one chicken sandwich. Bare I would think.
The only thing I put salt on is french fries. The food actually tastes like it should instead of tasting like salt although there are almost violent disagreements.
Putting a little salt on food prior to cooking can enhance flavors, putting salt pn food after its cooked only makes it salty. I never put salt on food after it's cooked.

Almost all processed food has tons of salt....it adds flavor, it is cheap, and people like the taste.

Nope, if I am making fries 🍟 in my air frier I will lightly coat them with salt prior to frying them but not after.

Things are getting desperate in the car rental business. Today we went to two different states to gather enough cars to cover reservations at the airport.
Our two big lots near the airport which can hold well over a thousand cars are E-M-P-T-Y.
I’ve never seen that before.
And now I hear that Ford is cutting production by half due to chip shortages.
I'm renting a car at PIE through National, next week (St.Pete/Clearwater). Booked it about three weeks ago. I usually check the "last minute deals" or, get a $20 coupon, and re-book a few days before.
When I checked it this time.. ZERO cars available for next Friday.
Advantage and Hertz went under......Hertz had about 200000 cars. Rental companies get big discounts on new cars...but with the shortage of cars car makers want to sell their cars to regular buyers. People are keeping rental cars longer and they are staying somewhere else. The one not mentioned which is my own guess - car rental companies off loaded cars during early covid when renters were scarce.....to reduce debt. Advice.....rent very early like kyfdx, one week ahead isn't enough.
I don’t know how many Hertz had before but Enterprise bought 200,000 of their lower milage cars. Most of them including much of Enterprise’s own inventory were sold off during 2020 because values were so high. I think they oversold because they assumed that they could purchase new cars to replace them. How did that work out.
So now we have the perfect storm. Demand skyrocketing, no inventory and no way to get more. I just tried to get my BIL my employee discount and a Mitsu Mirage booked for $350/week. I’m going to give him the pick of my fleet instead.

As a follow up to replacing two tires on the Q5 I did confirm with Audi service that if the older tires are within 4/32 of the new and the tires match on each axle then no issue. As a safeguard I went ahead and ordered two more tires so all four will be new and match. My wallet is $1000 lighter but I believe well spent.
If the predicted tire shortage happens, you’ll be glad you did.

One of the reasons given for a "possible" tire shortage in the near term was the blockage of the Suez Canal. All in all, I don't think it's really going to happen. Sometimes I think we need to quit looking for things to worry about.

What’s even more disturbing is the critical shortage of micro-chips and processors. That’s what is holding up my replacement radio in my G90.

Then, there are those who love seeing their thoughts expressed on a page of written words that they composed. Which category do you think driver100 falls into? (Sorry about ending that last sentence with a preposition - but sometimes you just gotta break a few grammatical rules). 🤪😜🤓

This one is from the driveway to the front of the house.
Sidewalk looks good....what is happening to your grass? The grass in our yard has mostly turned to mud with a few weeds....the guy is going to add soil and grass seed like oldfarmer suggested....grass that will grow in the shade. Apparently the trees grew and now make too much shade....I can't win!

Then, there are those who love seeing their thoughts expressed on a page of written words that they composed. Which category do you think driver100 falls into? (Sorry about ending that last sentence with a preposition - but sometimes you just gotta break a few grammatical rules). 🤪😜🤓
I am actually very shy and quiet, but I have a duty to educate and inform my fellow Americans.
For kicks I was going to say Edmunds is going to increase the cost of posting but I’m afraid that would give @driver100 an excuse to barrage us. You guys would never talk to me again.

....an increase in the cost of posting....I better get to work, my goal is 40000 by the end of May.
Not gonna happen. I've been averaging about 100 posts per day; at that rate, it would take me 4 months to go from 28K to 40K posts.

I remember in college English if you ended a sentence with a preposition or if the sentence was a run on or fragment automatic F. I just read an article where ending a sentence with a preposition and other rules we were taught no longer apply. Hmmm.

It's perfectly fine to end a sentence with a preposition. It's not, nor was it ever, a violation of English Grammer. It is a violation of Latin Grammer but not English. Anyone pressing that Latin rule on English is just a snob.

He drives to Arizona for the winter....about 2400 miles and he said there are hardly any Audi dealers on the way there. He said he might consider a Lincoln or Cadillac SUV next time, there are a lot more dealers.
I don't think he would switch, but the same thoughts have gone through my mind.

Also seems it moved (at least for them!) from the original concept (make spare cash from your car when you aren’t using it) to being basically a small rental car company.

Also, I'd imagine that Turo takes a pretty good chunk of the $100/day. I bet it's 12 days/mo or more to break even.

So now we have the perfect storm. Demand skyrocketing, no inventory and no way to get more. I just tried to get my BIL my employee discount and a Mitsu Mirage booked for $350/week. I’m going to give him the pick of my fleet instead.

This one is from the driveway to the front of the house.
Then along the house to the front door.
Then from the front door to the road. The old, flagstone, walk wound off to the right - where the mulch goes between the trees.

The grass in our yard has mostly turned to mud with a few weeds....the guy is going to add soil and grass seed like oldfarmer suggested....grass that will grow in the shade. Apparently the trees grew and now make too much shade....I can't win!
