    Trading in my wife's 2020 EXL with 35K. $24,500 buyout. Assuming we get $5k towards the new lease, this sure does still look like a hefty lease payment for a Pilot Elite, assuming:

    $53,830 MSRP (sonic gray adder)
    - $500 LEASE LOYALTY
    - $5,000 EQUITY ON LEASE-END
    .00276 MF
    .63 MF
    5% TAX

    I come up with ~ $700 S and D, ~ $675.00, first payment.

    Tough to swallow, coming off a $460 monthly on a 2020 EX-L. Makes me think I 'm wrong on the calc, somewhere. ~ a $13K difference in MSRP jumps the payment 52% AFTER a $5,000 CCR? (there was none on the $43K EXL, 3 years ago) MSRP ~ $40K.

    Does this make sense?

    The money factor now would add $100/mo, all by itself. Plus, it's unlikely you paid sticker for your 2020.
    Your numbers don't mention a selling price or an adjusted CAP cost, so it's all a guess, without those numbers.

    I'd buy that 2020 out, and be done with it.

    Believe it or not, the 20 was close to MSRP- but that was ~ $40k on an 2020 EXL, then.

    No cap reductions, then, either. You’re right re the MF adding $100 right from the start, now.

    I won’t walk into an ambush- unless they give me some absurd equity and the numbers are right, we’ll buy it out or do “x”.

    Not paying $700 a month for a Pilot.

    Even though I asked beforehand, when I arrived, they wanted $7k OVER msrp. $991 a month.

    Insane. No way.

    About a half dozen people looked at it while we were there: I’m sure some sucker will fall on that grenade.

    Test drove it though: very nice, definitely a more refined ride/drive.
