    Snowy Marquette MI

Surprised the owner of that Cadillac would frequent a Restaurant operated by someone famous for robbing the rich to give to the poor..

1960 Ford four poster under the Flamingo. Behind it a dowdy somewhat British looking sedan. I;; guess a Standard Ten. White car facing camera looks like a circa 1950-52 Canadian Pontiac that's actually a Chevy.

I think the car behind the lower line 60 Ford is an early 50s Hillman Minx.

Is that a '57 Studie behind the mystery British car?

    Lucid Air.

Pictures do not convey how big this car really is.

A bit of a dismal pic, on a dismal day, in a dismal season of the year, of pretty dismal vehicles. This one should expand to a very large size.

    Ah, my childhood. Dismal indeed!

Civic CRX next to a Tempo/ Bronco II in the next row, next to what looks like a Chrysler product of some sort.... maybe a Toyota Tercel next to that.

it is a Civic hatch, not a CRX. I think about an '85. I had an S version of that car in 1990.

2 down from the Bronco is a Mitsubishi/Dodge Colt. also about an 85. I had a Dodge of that vintage too (bought that new in 1985).

You sure that is a Colt? It has an early Hyundai vibe to me. They were popular up here because they were cheaper than other econobox vehicles.

The bullet taillights ID it as a 1960. This is the '59:

That Minx at Surrey BC is, I think, a Mk V - the mk VI - VII both had a longer boot.

Meanwhile in Seattle with the Jag XK120 the grey sedan trying to hide behind the walking man is an Austin Cambridge A55 - circa 1956-59 - the pre-Farina model

This one taken in late fifties rural Scotland

I'm pretty well stumped as well but the wagon that is parked facing the camera looks like a late '50s Hillman Minx that was once sold in the US. Of course it could easily be a Sunbeam or some other Rootes Group badge (Singer/Humber etc.)

  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,687
Two tone car at left perhaps a late run "old style" Hillman Minx. In front of that an Anglia/Escort estate perhaps - has a Ford vibe. Wagon/estate 2 ahead of that facing camera might be a Standard 10.
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,239
@fintail - I think you got all of them fin, except the green estate ahead of the Escort

It's actually the estate version of a Standard Vanguard III or possibly a Standard Ensign Estate - the badge is, I think more likely a Vanguard than the more basic Ensign version

Just above and to the right of the Seville at right, a 63 Imperial coupe. In between the Seville and Imperial, a Mazda RX4 Wagon

I don’t recall ever seeing a baby blue Manta. White, maroon, dark blue are the colors I normally associate with that car. A friend had a 75 white with red vinyl interior, 4sp.

I thought the black over red car was a Firebird but it's too big, same size as the Cutlass behind it.
I think it must be a LeMans or a GTO

andys120 -- The red car with the black roof is a 69 Firebird. I used to own a 69 that was blue with blue vinyl roof. The hood is very different from a Lemans.

this one was taken at a motorbike scrambling event in the early sixties.

The circuit - on the hill above looking down on the car park - was provided with straw bales for crowd safety in those days ,,,,, there are a few three wheelers in the car park too - many people at that time drove such cars on a motorcycle licence so as this is a bike event presumably that is why they are there..

    Should expand
