    I got this quote on a Light Long Range 24/10 90036. He ran it with me putting down $5k, which I would never do. They also are putting all the fees and the "down payment tax" in the adjusted cap cost. Fees I always pay as Drive off.

    Edmunds pricing says this car should be $51,662 and the dealer said there's no way they can do that. Kia doesn't give them enough room to discount that much. I've only leased luxury cars so no clue what Kia is like. Any guidance?

    On a lease do I need to pay for down payment tax?

    Yes, any CAP reduction is taxed upfront.

    Doesn't much matter that they can't meet the Edmunds price, if they are offering ZERO discount.
    I wouldn't trust the Edmunds price, as it might assume incentives or EV tax credits.

    I've heard these are very popular, and this trim is likely the cheapest one. I wouldn't expect a big discount, but at this price, you are almost at $800/mo, with just first payment upfront. I don't see the value in an EV, at that price.

    It's an incentive from Kia Motors Finance to the customer, applied like a cap cost reduction (down payment) on the contract.
