Nice! Those Kuros are heavy beasts!

I’ve had the pleasure of mounting a 60” Panasonic Plasma (same panels as the Pioneer IIRC) and it was no joke. I used 4 3.5” lags directly into the studs. It was over a fireplace and took three of us to safely lift it up there. Nothing like the LEDs today. I did my 65” Samsung by myself.

The mount itself probably weighed more than the new TVs.

Put my current LG OLED on a heavy wooden stand (actually one of those fancy furniture "media centers"). Pretty easy compared to mounting it, or wrestling one of those plasma TVs of yore. The only issue isn't the weight but wrapping your arms around a 65" TV.

I needed help with the 65 in our family room, it was a little too high to do by myself. Someday I have to lower that one... it's too high. Previous owner had it there and I went with the same height, which I was going to fix when I got time. That was nearly 5 years ago!

Fun morning - I turn the shower on, run to the linen closet to grab a fresh towel and expect a hot shower when I get back.... Nope!

Get dressed, disarm the alarm and take a walk outside to make sure the inlet and exhaust were clear and they were. Go down stairs and it's flashing a code 11. Quick Google action is no flame sensed. Noritz said it is usually the flame sensor needing to be cleaned. OK - I can handle that. Open the unit up and my issue was very apparent. There were a ton of leaves that were sucked into the air intake preventing the unit from breathing. It was enough to fill the dust bin of the small vacuum we keep in the basement. I have to get some sort of cover for the intake pipe so this doesn't happen again.

Naturally, this pushes my whole morning back, so I jumped on the laptop to get out something that was on a time crunch this morning and ate breakfast home. Traffic was then a nightmare with I95 shut down and I ended up jumping back to NJ on one bridge and then back into PA on the next ahead of the accident.

You’re right, you can’t short arm a TV that size. However, when you grow up you won’t have that problem.

Part of me does want to replace the aging 50” at the shore with that TV…. Then upgrade to a bigger set at home. Problem is, my wife ordered the cabinet below to be the same width as the TV and well… you know.

I’m possibly going to be challenged when this TV finally gets replaced. I’m still using a stand I bought (at Sears!) in 2005. I like it because it is designed to fit in a corner and is perfect for my space. My current TV is a 55” one with the de rigeur v-shaped legs at the extreme ends. They are within less than an inch of the platform on either end. I get why TV manufacturers do that for stability, but I would much prefer a different design.

Amazon sells universal replacement TV stands. I had to buy one when we lost the legs to one of ours during the move (it was on a wall in the previous house). It had a nice heavy base in the center so if your TV was bigger than the stand it didn't matter.

    I bought a TV stand specifically for a 55" TV. 42" wide

Last time I replaced the TV, I picked out an LG. But, when I got it home, the legs extended all the way to the edge of the TV frame, and one of them was half-on, half-off the edge of the stand.

Took it back, and swapped it for a Samsung that had legs a little more centered.

My Pioneer Kuro plasma is 17 years old and and it still has an amazing picture. In the basement I was able to decrease the viewing distance so it looks even better.

During Covid, my wife wanted a Smart TV in the lower level, so she could stream workout videos. We had a really nice Sony LCD 52" 1080P TV down there, but not Smart. It weighed about 110 lbs.

Got a 60" LG 4K smart TV from Target for $399, as it was the absolute biggest TV that would fit in the custom entertainment center. It was cheap, because they were phasing out that 60" size. 5 years later, still going strong.

The plasma I have at the shore dates to about 2012 I believe as that is when the previous owners bought the place. It is an Insignia (Best Buy house brand) but I'll tell you it rivals some of the newer sets I have. The blacks are so much better and there is zero motion lag. I want to swap it because it is so heavy and on a very large mount that sticks out from the wall more than I like. Pretty stupid reason since for the use it gets it works perfectly.

My son and I arm wrestled the 50" Panasonic Plasma TV up to the 2nd floor bedroom. This was right after Panasonic bought Pioneer's plasma business (which is now no longer). That was an exercise in body contortion.

The LG 65" OLED in the Home Theater rec room was much lighter. But, it was also a bear getting it around a bend in the stairwell and over the railings.

IMHO, the Pioneer/Panasonic plasmas and the LG OLEDs are among the most reliable you can find. Both have outstanding picture quality, too.

I don’t know why the Charger wouldn’t be popular. Yeah, it’s an outdated platform but it’s roomy and rides nice. It would be a good car for ride share if it wasn’t limited to 7500 miles a year. For the average person you could do worse for $259.

That deal is for an electric Charger. Sorry to be a buzzkill.

Isn't the 2025 Charger a sedan, though? I thought it was only the 2024 model that was a coupe?

To me, it was a sellout. Daimler Benz needed Chrysler's cash reserves and their C Suite cashed out.

That’s the way I understood it. I bought my 2000 Chrysler mainly because I liked the Mitsubishi engine but also because it was a design from 1996 which was just before Daimler took over.

    Also it was cheap.

    Wrangler.

I at first thought that too but the GC sells 43% more units than the Wrangler.

You do have a point though as a whole Jeep sells the most vehicles for Stellantis in the USA. 39% more than the Ram.

Units wise the GC and Wrangler combined nearly equal the Ram

The Compass of all things moved over 111K units and one of the only vehicles for Stellantis with a positive comp over last year.

Interesting about the Compass, because we get very few requests for lease numbers on that model.

Way more on the 4xe GC and Wrangler, due to the large incentives.

Was that staged or is it real? I bet some people would fall for it. If 1 in 10 went for it they'd make more profit than selling cars at MSRP.

If you get the chance, read the book "Taken for a Ride", which is a detailed account of the Daimler-Chrysler merger.

Not a merger of equals, but a full blown takeover.

I believe I read it some years ago. A sorry tale and maddening. Chrysler has never been the same. Cerberus did more damage and the subsequent owners even more.

I don't think he could have picked a worse partner. Daimler was making uber-luxury cars, meticulously engineered and built to high tolerances. Chrysler was a mass-market automaker. Like mixing oil and water, corporate wise.

Well, now they’re tied up with Fiat and Alfa, brands which have never sold well in the North American market.
