I'd need to know the following:

Trim
RWD or AWD
Term and mileage requested
MSRP
Negotiated selling price (before incentives)

Most EVs easily beat the 1% guideline for lease payments.

That was the initial hit. As the wheel rotated clockwise there was more damage, although not as bad.
Failed PIT manuever by a KIA K4.

Interesting TTAC article on license plate readers linked below. (PSA: Please use an ad blocker, I’m on mobile and the ads are ridiculous.) FYI, if someone adds physical damage coverage to a liability-only auto policy and reports they hit a deer a few days or weeks later, it’s getting referred to SIU or SCU, which is the insurance company’s fraud investigation department. Not sure about Flock, but they can get some of this license plate data, as well as from those cars you see driving around with plate readers. If photos turn up showing the damage before the coverage was added, claim denied, and the policy may be cancelled. We had a commercial truck claim where the insured said the tractor caught fire and burned to the ground, but couldn’t provide any documentation or photos at all. Finally, the adjuster sent it to SIU. Photos from plate readers showed the allegedly “burnt to a crisp” rig running a produce route in California weeks after it “burned.”

Pretty scary. A lot of police cars in NY have plate readers and there’s been some concern as to how long they keep the data collected. Evidently, they not only read the plates for violations but may store the data for future use.

Kind of a delicate balance. In NYC (and even upstate) there are a lot of phony or expired plates on cars being used to evade tolls or enable unregistered vehicles to run the streets but some of those examples in the article show that every technology can be abused.

I think at this point we all have to assume that just about anything we do in public is being recorded or photographed.

Don't do anything stupid or try to defraud anyone and it will never be a problem.

We used the Flock cameras and private closed circuit cameras a lot in my office. One local motel had been robbed at gunpoint and the idiot robber didn't wear a mask. The picture quality of the cameras was so good that the videos looked like a professional camera was used. A lot of the private CC cameras were so bad that sometimes you couldn't be sure what you were looking at.

Saw a real live car chase today while walking my daughter's dog.
Head a siren for a few seconds but couldn't tell where it was coming from.
Then heard a high revving engine and a Ford Explorer Sprt Trac went by flat out with a police cruiser about a couple of seconds behind it.
After that, came another 6 pursuit vehicles including a Tahoe and an F-150.
The chase was headed east toward Cleveland and at least oneo of the pursuers was from the next city to the east of where I was.
At least some of the schools in Rocky River, where I was walking the dog, went into lockdown, so it wasn't a short chase.

Probably kids on a joyride gone bad. Years ago we’re were at a stop light next to a BMW when a bunch of police cars rushed up and blocked it in. Guns drawn they pulled a bunch of kids out of what I assume was a stolen vehicle. Kind of frightening since the police were using our van as cover.

Yesterday on my way home from walking the dog there is a tree service barn previously for sale the had one of those changeable signs on it, similar to this but mounted on one of the exterior walls.

I thought I saw "Bent Rim" on it, so I got off the highway and drove by it to verify and it was for a business that fixes rims.

Today I picked up the rim and tire from the place with a cheap price but that said rim was unfixable and drove it over to the wheel repair shop referenced by the sign.

They charge more, but they said they could fix it and showed me another rim they were doing the same repair to.
I told the service writer that I saw their sign on the barn.
He said "Really?" and called over the owner and told him "This guy found us from the sign on the barn".
The owner said, "That's how you found out about us?"

He went on to tell me he just contracted to buy the building the week before from the tree service owner, that he had been to the hospital across the street from the barn every week for a while, kept seeing the for sale sign on the barn and decided to buy it.
As soon as he and the owner agreed on the price the owner threw him the keys and said it's all yours.
He found the letters in the barn and decided to just put something up there about his business, although they haven't finished the closing process yet.

Good luck on getting the rim fixed. It looks fixable to me, but aluminum can be a pain to work. It doesn't like to bend like steel and would much prefer to just crack apart.

We’ve been in the Philly area for the last week. Spent 4 days in Ocean City, then a few days back near the city. Took my baseball obsessed kiddo to his first live Phils game tonight and man what an experience. Just electric from the start to finish.

To keep this car related I was “upgraded” by Avis to a Honda Odyssey Sport with 7500 miles on it. Pretty beat up for the age, but super useful having the space. Unbelievably anemic engine though.

Up in Vermont for a 3 night anniversary (40 years, must mean my wife is old now!). Much better than working. and we both agreed that the ride up through farm country would have been perfect for a nice sporty convertible.

Though my “sport” truck handles back roads just fine. And overall with that trip and local running around it is showing 46 MPG.

I mentioned a few weeks ago about the Subaru I occasionally see with ducks on the dashboard. I was able to sneak a picture of it at a local convenience store. It does not look anything like a Jeep.

This whole duck thing needs to stop (Yeah I said it)... Jeeps, Subarus and it is a big thing on cruise ships.

It's gotten so out of hand that Royal Caribbean has banned it in the "Central Park" areas of the ship because people were damaging the foliage.

What is the fascination with finding .03 ducks made from China plastic...the last thing I want is more junk, my kids already collect enough.

A lot of Subaru cars here come equipped with dogs.
But those are live, of course!

I can sit at lunch and watch 200 or more cars go through the drive-thru lanes at Chick Fil A and see 10-15% of the Subarus with dogs in them. Second higher number of dogs would be the large GM Cadillac Escalade boxes or Tahoe by Chev.
