Iam going to pick up my 2006 2.0T Passat, with package # 2 I am leasing it in new jersey also
I am paying 403.00 a month with everything incorporated (taxes, MV fees) into the payment I am leasing it for 48 months and they also payed my last car payment of 394.93
seem you got a good deal, my passat 2.0T+Pkg1, $24955 + TTL, 3.9% 36 months I got it last week in Chicago, IL I think I can make the price better, while I didn't have enough time because I don't live in Chicago. anyway I like the car.
"PS: Thank you soooo much whoever posted about the mistakes about the Package 1's with the with the multifunction steering wheel. You saved me an easy $2000, because I didnt want leather anyway. But I still get the leather wheel, shifter, and the cool wheel buttons all for FREE!!!!"
Can you or someone elaborate? Doesn't package one come with the multifunction steering wheel?
Not on the 2.0T. You've got to go with the Package 2 to get it. I'd suggest you go to vw.com and go to the Passat page then click on the brochure tab. You can look at a pdf brochure and in the back it lists the different trim levels and options.
hi, Anybody bought 2005 GLS recently? I got a quote of $22600 plus TTL, now negoiate to $21600 plus TTL paying cash. Does this sound a good deal? Is it worth to buy? Thanks for your advice.
Just made an agreement with a dealer through phone. I'm going to sign docs later Configuration: Passat 2.0T 2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6A, 2006 Package 1 + Cold Weather Package
Total invoice: 25,357 (Edmunds, including Destination), 25,524 (dealer). The dealer told me there is a $167 "port" fee.
Sale price: $25,425, $99 lower than dealer's invoice.
Thanks to this forum. The TMV doesn't reflect the real market value:-)
I decided not to wait till next Feb for 06 Passat GLX wagon. so just got a quote from a central NJ dealer, exactly $3500 below the invoice. apparently we all take advantage of the cash rebate ending 10/31/05. so, any suggestion out there? Thanks in advance, Kevin
Was out to 3 County VW and drove the new '06 2.0T. It was very responsive and steering was tight. Got back to the dealership and was quoted on a 2.0T with PKG1, rear airbags and the Cold Weather Pkg as follows:
Vehicle with all of the above $26,315 +TTL
The salesman stated the the pricing was $250 over invoice, when I questioned him as to why the invoice price is different than that on-line, I was told there we additional charges as follows:
Advertising Fee $230 Floor Plan Interest $142 Port Fee $25
In additional to that he offered me 40% less than the recommended price (dealer trade-in) on my 96 Lexus which is clean. I walked.....
A couple of questions:
1. Anyone know of dealers in Northern New Jersey that are offering REAL deals on the new Passat?
2. How do I not get screwed on my trade-in? I am willing to take up to a grand less than the Dealer trade-in value but that is it.
Thanks all for the great wealth of info at this site.
So I requested some quotes for a 2006 Passat with package # 2 from edmunds last night and I just got this message from a dealer. The price he is quoting is below invoice, which seems like a great deal but I'm wondering what the catch is.
"Good afternoon and thank you for your inquiry on a 2006 Volkswagen Passat. On your inquiry, you requested pricing on a Package #2 Luxury, Cold Weather Package, Rubber Mats, Trunk Liner and Spalsh Guards. The MSRP of that Passat is $28,919. Today is the last day of the month and I am being extremely aggressive on all my vehicles.
Like I said before, the MSRP on the Passat you inquired about is $28,919. Today I am able to sell you that Passat for $26,058 + Tax, Title, License and Applicable Fee's. That is correct, you can save over $2800!!"
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to check into those "fees" to see what is buried in there. I was just a little surprised he came right out of the box with an offer like that on my internet lead. Granted, I had my price quote request sent to four local dealerships but I wasn't expecting a quote near invoice.
I live in Canada and I have been looking at a few remaining new 2005 Passat TDIs with Tiptronic. Regardless of the MSRPs I am seeing, what should be the best price (invoice?) I could expect to hear from the sales rep or 'shoot for' in my negotiations?
I just was quoted a lease price on an 06 passat 2.0T of $350/mo. for 36 months, 12K miles per year with $2,100 down (includes all.) Selling price on the car is $27,197. Does this sound like a good deal??
which dealer you did with? I am looking for the same car in houston area, negociating with the dealers. Have no idea what the price I should go for it. tomorrow I need to make a decision and give them my bottom line. Please tell me the name of the dealer and what your sugguestion price.:)
I forgot to mention in my original post that this was for a package #2, so here's my question again:
I just was quoted the following lease price on an 06 passat 2.0T (package #2): $350/mo. for 36 months, 12K miles per year with $2,100 down (includes all.) Selling price on the car is $27,197. Does this sound like a good deal??
I scanned the messages and only found two recent discussions where price offerred by the dealer was about $3500 under invoice. Does that sound right? Now that some more time has gone by, and the market soured, are the prices even lower?
Any information or advice would be helpful. Considering buying/leasing an '05 Passat Wagon.
Also, if anyone has the current (Nov.) lease rates, that would be good info. I'll post them here if I find them elsewhere.
John Koons had three new 2005 GLX wagons on the lot. A salesman called me and quoted $6,000 under MSRP. When I told him that I could get that anywhere, he replied "$22,700 - take your pick". At that price it was awfully tempting. Even though I would have had to pay to get it to Nebraska, it was still better than what I was finding locally.
A Mountain State salesman quoted me $7,000 off sticker on any GLX 4motion wagon.
John Koons VW called me even though I indicated e-mail as my preference; Mountain State Motors in Colorado had e-mailed me after I filled out the request for more information on the web site. Mountain State was *very* helpful. I told them they didn't have my first choice of color and options (I initially wasn't looking for a GLX 4mo.), and they found three other dealers around the country that had close to what I wanted.
Again, these quotes are from the first week of October. I got my local dealer to match the $7,000 off sticker on a GLX 4motion wagon (about $4,200 under invoice, included $500 cash back to customer; there was a $3,500 marketing incentive at the time also).
Thanks, John. Do you or does anyone know the lease terms (MF, Residuals) from VW Credit for the '05 wagon, new? There also seem to be contradictary lease numbers on the '06 Passat I wrote about elsewhere. Can anyone enlighten?
I didn't look into leasing -- I'm high mileage and have a large dog, so prefer to just buy (got 4.9% VW credit, wouldn't give me the 3.9% with the cash back & incentives).
Note that you can also find a couple of new '04s around if you're interested in a deal. My local dealer still has a new silverstone grey/black 2004 GLX on the lot. I'm sure they're itching to get rid of it.
I'm also shopping in DC area for Passat. YOur inof is very helpful. Where did you buy yours? MD/VA. Would be intersted in knowing if all the dealers offered you more or less the same price or was quite different. Did you also check about their service levels. If so, which one did you find to be good? Finally, what is your experience wiht the car?
Hi I din't undertsnad this paragraph. ****************** PS: Thank you soooo much whoever posted about the mistakes about the Package 1's with the with the multifunction steering wheel. You saved me an easy $2000, because I didnt want leather anyway. But I still get the leather wheel, shifter, and the cool wheel buttons all for FREE!!!! THis site helpmed me tons. I love my VDUB, and the Key is what sold me. ************************************* Does it mean that we can get the buttons on the steering wheel by getting Pkg 1 ? I definitely don't want leather seats, but I really like the controls on teh steering wheel.
I had the same question a week ago and posted it, and got an answer. Apparently some B6 models were shipped with this option included in package 1 but buyers were not charged. I doubt there are any left on the lot, or so others have said.
i was provided the following quote from a dealer here in New Jersey. 2006 2.0T with Pkg#2 for $26000. Below invoice according to Edmunds price. What do you all think about this price? Of course it doesn't include destination/delivery charge.
Jazzspot, If dealer is quoting you $26000 without destinatin charge, he's quoting you at least $26,615. ($615 dest. charge). You also say he will include a delivery charge?
This quote is therefore well above invoice. Invoice is $26,254 and this number includes a $615 destination charge.
Leased a 2006 3.6 with luxury package 1 today. Lease is for 39 mo. no money down or first months payment. 20k miles per year. $495 a month tax included and a residual of $17,200. Think we did ok?
Love this car. Handles great and has so much power.
received offer for 2006 passat 2.0T luxury package #2, navigation, lemans wheels, and rear airbags sticker 30965 terms 39 mos. 500 down 419.71 month 15000 miles year. Tier A credit. How does this deal sound. I've been shoppinjg around and this is the best yet. Great color combo deep black ext. and latte macchiato int.
How much can I expect to get off Sticker on a 2006 Passat with a 3.6? I am buying car cash just want to know if it is even worth it to try to bargin on these.
I made a deal today with a local dealer for a 2006 2.0 T Blue Graphite, grey interior, 17 inch wheels, auto, luxury package #2 w/ Sirius, leather, heated seats- no dynaudio or GPS. I got an online quote and sent it to my local dealer and he matched it- $26,600. 4.9% for 60 months.
2006 Value Edition MSRP $24825 (included dealer-added option of rubber floor mats + trunk liner)
Got dealer down to sale price of $23500 $575 lease acquisition fee Total sale price $24075
I agreed to pay the $575 acq fee up front, and an additional $295 up front as well (this came out of discussions regarding another dealer's $295 prep fee)
So, with $870 down, the monthly lease payment (39 months, 39K miles) would have been $264.75, usage tax included.
Not bad. Of course, I had a tradein. After much bargaining and dickering, I was able to get the VW dealer to agree to give me $3500 for my trade. Unfortunately, I still owed $4875 on that vehicle, so there was a $1375 gap between trade allowance and payoff.
If I had been willing to pay the entire $1375 upfront, in addition to the $870 I had already agreed on, I could have had that $264 monthly payment. However, I couldn't quite swing that large of an upfront payment.
So, I paid $700 of it in cash, making my total upfront payment $1570. I then rolled the remaining $675 into the lease.
This makes my lease payments $283.15, usage taxes included. Still not a bad deal, I don't think.
This dealer worked hard for my business. He initially indicated that the $299 sign and drive deal was as low as they could go, and that he couldn't move from the MSRP at all. But he ended up coming down $1300 on the selling price, and fought with the used car manager to get an additional $800 for my tradein.
Very aggressive, which makes me think the market for these cars is a little soft right now. Hard to believe, because the lease offer from VW Credit on the Value Edition is very impressive. But if you're looking to get a new Passat VE, take heart -- you can get much closer to invoice than the base MSRP, if you work at it.
I did much of the initial work via email, back and forth between the two VW dealers here in town. I had the lease deals all set up before I even visited the two dealerships yesterday. Both were willing to do around the same deal for the Passat; it's just that the second dealership did MUCH better on my trade.
Anyway, I love the car so far. United Grey exterior with the black interior. And although I wasn't looking for the rubber mats and trunk liner, they are very nice accessories.
Now, I just need to do something about the factory stereo. I need something I can use to easily play my iPod Nano in the car. My old car had a cassette deck, so I used a cassette adapter with the iPod -- no more of that!!
Suggestions on replacement stereos, particularly iPod-compatible stereos, would be welcomed.
Go to Apples website and look up car connections. Apple made a deal with a lot of car manufacturers, including VW about having a adapter approved by them. It will connect to back of your VW radio and your radio will be able to display songs from your Ipod. Also, if you have controls on your steering wheel you will be able to use them too-that way you can have your Ipod resting in your glove box. Out of sight-out of harm (my buddy had his car broken in-somebody stole his 20Gig). I think the adapter will come out in January( feel free to correct me ) and will cost around $150-200. I think it is worth it.
I went to a VW dealer today walked about for 25 minutes not one single salesman helped me. I finally found an open car in the front looked inside and sat in. A Salesman approaced opened my door said please move to see the miles on the car and left.
Talk about horrible Customer Service. I think I may not buy a Passat now because of this terrible, terrible service.
Find another dealer, if you have one available. Better yet, make contact with them ahead of time, via phone or email, and let them know you're coming in. You'll get much better service if they know you're coming, as opposed to just being a "drop in."
Don't let this bad experience sour you. The Passat is an outstanding vehicle, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
Just made a deal at the local VW dealer for a 2006 Value Edition Passat automatic. The negotiated price was $23,960, we paid zero out the door and got 39 month/39k miles at $290 month, ended up being $308 with tax. Basically just said we wanted the Passat lease deal on the VW.com site and went from there.
i paid 25980 for a 06 passat back in august 05 with package #1 with steering wheel controls +free rubber matts i got a 6.99 APR,zero down, let me know if it is a good deal.
Just curious, you made the deal 3-4 months ago, why worry if it was a good deal now? Does it really matter? Can't say much about price (went with an Acura TL after my 2003 Passat, didn't like the new Passat much, felt cheaper than the old one, also concerned about new model with VW's quality reputation, although my 2003 Passat GLS was nearly flawless.) but the interest rate seems high to me, but cannot remember what market offered in 8/05. Enjoy the car.
