..... Ok Mr. Imposter .. $22,0 with 45k .. ? seems like a ton of Peso's, especially since you can get 20kers for around $22ish ~ but, on any given' daaaay ..
...... The loaded up "T" with 37k probably has in and around $10ish in it, might get $12ish for it .. the base model with the miles might have that $8ish figure in it, dealer probably would turn this one loose for a "song" - the $9's ..?
I am interested in an X5, 2001, 4.4, sunroof, with all the bells and whistles. The dealership is asking 39,875 for this vehicle..The mileage is 31,000 and it looks very clean. What is everyone else paying for this vehicle or could someone give me some imput.. Thanks
Spatula is correct. Be very careful when you use links to Town Hall when you are logged in. If necessary, log out of TH and use the link created when in Guest mode.

..... Another "no Prom" purple, the miles help this one a little , we got quads, it's an SE, it better have dual air in HTown .. based on your description, trade side you should be seeing the $3's, might, maybe, could almost see $4,0 if the dealer loves you and want's your baby ...
Wanted to get your opinion on the price of a BMW here in Atlanta, GA. It is a used 2001 BMW X5 4.4 engine, silver, excellent condition, 31,000 miles, the salesperson said it has a state 1 dynan package. They are asking $39,9 for this vehicle.
I wanted to trade my 2000 Acura TL, black, with NAV, 56,000 miles, excellent condition, the book value I believe is around $15,5 for this vehicle and the payoff is $15,800. Wasn't real sure what I could do In a trade.
Thank You for taking time to respond and help me out..
Thats a Stage 1-DINAN pkg.. Aftermarket tuner that does BMW approved and warrantied modifications... Not sure what stage 1 involves.. maybe just cold air intake and suspension... Just an FYI
I am looking to find out what my 2000 Eclispe GT would fetch. It is a 2000 Eclipse GT with 90000 miles on it. It is a 5 speed manual with leather power seats, 4 cd indash, rear spoiler, moonroof, power everything. Also I live in New Jersey. Any info would be much appreciated.
not that I should, but for S&Gs, what would fair market be:
2001 Mitsubishi Spyder (GS I believe) 4 cyl, 5 speed (yes, the infamous handshaking meat cleaver). White, black top and leather, looks nice, looks like new sneaks 51,000 miles. At a Chrysler dealer in suddenly chilly New Jersey.
What would the oracle of Edmunds say is a fair price for this piece at this time?
Terry, value please... let me know if you think this one is worth selling myself.
1999 Contour SVT, HO 2.5L 48k miles Cleveland, OH Red out, tan leather Garaged, rarely seen snow Paint shines immaculately CD, moonroof, 5 speed. I've done some improvements which may not add up to much but rear seat lighting (done very professionally), full stereo system upgrade, dynamat sound insulation in all doors and trunk, Alpine alarm.
Feel lucky that I found this group, hope someone can help.
Presently shopping for cross over SUV because of winter driving to Vermont. Looking to trade car below and have checked out Edmunds, Kelly, etc. but looking for other trade-in advice (or sell on own?)
Presently own 1994 BMW 325, 84K, very clean (minor door dings)no accidents, all maintenance. Other info: 4 door, burgundy, automatic, leather seats, onboard trip computer, 6 disc CD.
Any help on real world trade-in or what I might ask selling on my own would be appreciated, thanks.
4 Cyl, no a/c?, 137K miles, 2wd, maybe, could see $1000 on trade maximum. This is assuming no check engine lights, or other maintenance reminder lights, and no obvious problems (poor tires, gunked radiator, pulls hard on braking, etc) Get the point.
With A/C, you could-maybe get $2500 out of it IF you detail it and retail it out yourself (sell it yourself), AND no mechanical issues to deal with, AND no rust. Make sure maintenance is up to date and vehicle has been checked out by a mechanic, tires are good, detail is complete, then put the ad in the paper: 97 Isuzu Rodeo 2wd, 137K, serviced and ready to drive, $3200 obo.
More likely however, with the 4cyl and 137K, you will be doing good to get $500 out of it on trade. Off to the auction it will be going. Or wholesale to a credit challenged customer dealer lot. Buy-here-pay-here.
Looking to sell my truck and buy a new Ram Quad Cab 4X4. Salesman told me today that 2004 2500 and 3500 Rams are now have $2500.00 Rebates. It's time to buy.
I have a '97 2500 SLT 4X4, 5.9L V8, 69,000 miles, Engine and interior spotless. Factory paint is spotty... delamination, small spots but lots of them. Have maintanance records, receipts, etc... mechanically sound. No noises or rattles. 1/2 of tread left on mud terrain tires.
Truck includes a Meyer snow plow, used VERY little as can be seen in the unscratched paint. Rhino Liner, bed rails, tool box.
Hey Terry - Thanks so much for the quick response. I made a mistake - my model is not an SE. It's a 3.8L LE & does have dual air (sometimes that's not enough!) I found the original window sticker, it has $4,500 in optional equipment if that makes any difference (overhead console, alarm, 16" aluminum wheels, Infinity Acoustic) - Oh, and I found the "technical" name for the color- "Dark Rosewood". So, am I looking at a better trade in value? I owe $7000 (don't ask - my (ex)husband bought this one) - do you think I should consider going through the trouble of selling to a private party? Thanks again!!!
Tons of those going through Auction. Terry is still dead on, maybe $4,000 if the dealer really wants it. Maybe, could see, close to $7,000 if near perfect condition, maintenance ready, and you have time to sell it yourself, I did mention if you have the time to sell it? More likely will be a fast mover closer to $5,500; if you are in a hurry.
If selling privately, make sure you have all maintenance records on hand, especially the all so critical transmission fluid and filter a couple of times (each 30K), plus hopefully the dealer did the transmission computer relearn after each fluid change. Will make it much easier to sell, with all the bad transmissions these Chrysler minivans have by 100K give or take.
I'm having a bad day......we have had severe wind the last few days and last night was the worst. Sooo, yup, you guess it, the Explorer got nailed.
A large piece of roofing came off and scraped up the entire passenger side, from the roof all the way to the running boards, both side windows are scraped, the visor, the roof rack, a couple dents, the worst being the front fender.
So, my question is.....should I fix it and then just keep the documents handy to show when I go to sell it in another year or so. Obviously this truck wouldn't be a trade piece due to its age (1997) and I don't think a used car manager would be too thrilled that the whole side was repainted.
Or do I leave it as is, so that when it comes time to sell it the buyer doesn't think it was t-boned. I'm pretty certain the entire pass side will have to be repainted along with some of the roof. I'm sick about it, this truck has never had any paint work......I haven't even had it 3 months.
Will find out tomorrow how bad the damage is and how much it will cost to fix. Thankfully I have full coverage on the truck.
Our roof came apart in a few places too, our boiler's pipe was torn up, just not a good few days.
Traded our 1997 Dakota Club Cab Sport with 73,000 miles + $11,600 @ 1.9% for a 2003 Civic SI. Truck was black/gray with a stick. Had AC, fog lights, and wheels. Manual transmission 3.9L V6. This is in the Atlanta area.
What, was that Explorer built in a factory located on an Indian burial ground? Jeez, lousy luck. If you don't care about the damage for your own purposes, I certainly wouldn't get it fixed now. Wait till you're thinking of selling, and then decide. If it gets stolen, or hit, or something else goes wrong, then you'll have invested in the car, with no return on your investment.
That thought crossed my mind too, just to leave it the way it is, but I'm worried about corrosion since the scratches are all the way through the paint and down to bare metal.
This Explorer is plagued with bad luck, I'm starting to think it was built at the same plant as my ill fated 1994 Mazda Navajo.
I don't think you should do nothing & allow scratches to the bare metal go through an Alaska winter... there would probably be nothing left of the side by spring!
What about filing a claim on homeowner's insurance? Either yours or neighbor's.... whoever's building the roof flew off of. They should honor that, since debris from a home caused the damage. That would be a way to get your truck fixed with no out of pocket cost to you.
If so, you can either get it fixed or just keep the money and worry about the decreased value later. If you keep it long enough (fat chance)it won't affect the value all that much.
Sorry...I know you didn't need anymore bad luck, Jolie.
I was floored by the time the guy got done writing it up, lots of little damage added up to big bucks. Total was $3357.87 worth of damage.
I'm going to go ahead and fix it, my comprehensive deductable on my car insurance is $500.
It was our roof that did the damage and we don't have homeowner's insurance, just fire insurance. Not a biggie, that's why there's car insurance.
Poor truck was only with me 10 weeks and look what happened. I think I need a plastic bubble to park my vehicles in. We had gusts up to 75 mph the night this happened, wind was steady at 35 mph.
......... 01 X5 4.4 with the Dinan, 31k, silver in color, it's supposed to be a nice one .. the Dinan doesn't add or help, actually to most folks they kinda shy away from them (no matter what the dealer tells ya) .. asking $39,900
Your trying to trade a 00 Acura TL with Nav and 54k Big miles and it's black in Hotlanta, trade side in and around $15ish .. it's not important what their asking and it's not important what your vehicle is worth -- it's the Difference figure that matters ~~ the only Difference - that makes a Difference --- "IS" the Difference ...
You should be able to trade for your vehicle and in and around that $22/$23ish figure ...
....... Sorry to hear about the damage, I didn't know that Isabel went that far west ...
Get it fixed, keep the records, say bye bye (maybe) in the Spring ...
In the meantime ~ *Stay away from the car lots.!*
>> What, was that Explorer built in a factory located on an Indian burial ground? Jeez << .... l.o.l.. not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you .. ) -- (what do you mean your not laughing.?)
....... Thanks for letting me know, I didn't see the D pack on the post .. I see a few of these on the 91/96 "8" series .. I dunno why, they were fast enough ...
Terry...In San Diego County, I got $12,400 for the '02 PT "Limited" 5 speed w/27,000 on the clock, against $400 BELOW invoice PLUS the $1500 rebate on a new 2003 Toyota Highlander 4X2 V6 (non Limited, but all the goodies except leather). I think I done good....what do you think?
Thanks for your continued help....you should be knighted..oh..wrong side of The Pond
*sigh* We have a terrible time with wind, its still pretty bad even right now. On the bright side, it was 75 today.
I'm going to take the Explorer to my favorite body shop next week (I know the owners and they are awesome people). I'm sure it will look fine when I get it back, just frustrates me. Here was a beautiful 1997 Ford Explorer with NO previous paintwork and now its gotta have a whole side and part of the roof repainted.
Doubt I'll say bye-bye to it anytime soon, its only got 50k on it.
I'm looking to get rid of a 1999 New Jetta GLS VR6, in beautiful cosmetic condition, and well-maintained. Its repair history is extremely spotty, which is why I'm unloading it. Options are automatic, heated leather, and alloys. Approximately 88000 miles (it's still at the dealer, and I am awaiting the outcome of its most recent repair). eBay seems to be covered up with Jettas. Should I try to trade it on my next car, take it to the public auction, sell it privately, or put it on eBay? I'd like to be rid of it quickly once I make a decision.
Debating on whether to trade or sell outright. Wondering what value we can expect from either. Car will have 88K miles, has a very small shallow dent in hood. Otherwise good condition. Thanks
..... There might be a few hundred here or there on a trade, but that's about it .. even though it's in good shape, looks good and all the service is on the money .. unfortunately, Chrysler has made a bad reputation for itself on those trannies - some of it truly earned and some of it goes down the path of "urban legends" .. Hey, if Acura would have had a few more "nay sayers" we could be writing about them .l.o.l. .. the point is, it exists, plus there is Ton's out there.
Down Retail Rd you can ask anything you want, it's your vehicle .. but for a quick "turn and burn" I would grab $5,5/$6,5 and say "see ya" - "wouldn't want to be Ya" instead of waiting til' Xmas and making a pine tree potter out of it ...
....... Another SVT, huh ..? the miles are semi-low for the year, color is good .. if it has all that "boom diddy" stuff take it off, folks like em' stock .. clean, serviced and deep in rubber it should see somewhere in the $7's on a trade ...
If you got any brains you will have it professionally detailed, a Super nice 5 liner Ad in the paper and "ask" $9,900, cut it loose for $8,9/$9,500 - don't forget to leave your ego at the door .. it's a car, not your mothers Wedding pictures ...
....... I dunno about the "good" part, sounds more like on the "great" part .. $12,4, miles and a handshaker .. the Left Coasters just have no fear of miles.
Actually I was Knighted, but they took it away from me because I kept falling on my sword ...
....... Base GS, right .? - With the weather changing up north, the dealers are taking these off their "best dressed" list .. miles are tall, needs some round things, probably has in and around $10ish in it, could "might" be had for the low $12's ... what's he asking .. ?
stickguy: I know it won't be as useful as the truck in some circumstances but in the 5 months we had the truck we only used it twice to haul our bikes in. We can get a bike rack for the SI or the Accord and get better gas mileage and better driveability. Neither one of us are truck people .. we just thought we needed one.
I should mention the $11600 for the Civic includes dealer fees, fog lights, mud guards, floor mats, and the cargo net. A great deal in my opinion.
......... 01 X5 4.4 with the Dinan, 31k, silver in color, it's supposed to be a nice one .. the Dinan doesn't add or help, actually to most folks they kinda shy away from them (no matter what the dealer tells ya) .. asking $39,900

I hope this helps ....
Terry.
AND don't forget to let me know ..!
I forget to tell you Terry, that I still owe $15,900 on the Acura..
....... Pay-offs are your responsibility, they are nothing more than the "shadow or the echo" of the loan following the vehicle that you purchased 2/3 years ago ..
Actually you are in Very Good shape, most folks owe $18/$21,0 on their $15,000 trade, now is the time to take advantage of the "wash" .. remember the more miles and time you put on it, the less it will be worth, unless your carrying a winning lottery ticket, now is the time to move ...
......... Geeeet outa here ...! -- $17,9 .. ? - it's an 01 GS Sypder with 50k with some leather, right .. ?
Where's the dealership .. Baghdad ..?
I just sold a silver "GT" 01 with 19k (in the wrapper type vehicle) for $14,9 .... $17,9 .. ? maybe that's some kind of French money conversion thing - or something ....
02 Ford Explorer XLS good condition, 68K highway mileage, well maintained. Dealer offering 12K, recent auction info provided by friend shows 14K. Would appreciate your advice! Thanks!!
