Just bought (12/27/2014) a 2015 MDX AWD Advance + Entertainment for 52180 in Forest Mist (ext) and Eucalyptus (int). I had to pay the other fees on top of this sale price (doc fee + tax + tire fee). We got the car with the exact colors that my wife wanted. I plan to purchase the accessories online and do the installation myself.

Thanks to all members on this post. Your comments were extremely helpful for us in our purchase process.

    Have a great 2015.

I got a quote of 40485 for 2015 mdx and from a MD dealer. Don't know if this includes destination. Wayne Acura at NJ said to match that, but added about $1500 dest. plus fess etc. Man, next time be careful with the doc fees before visiting the dealers.

That is a great price! The best I have received on this model is 53,250 in FL.

I bought a 2015 MDX AWD ADV + Entertainment for $52.348.00 which included wheel locks and splash guards. I was able to negotiate the Wheel locks down to $40 and Splash Guards to $108.
Graphite + Black Interior. Vehicle had 10 miles on it when I went to test drive it and has a Registration sticker of 12/6.

Dealership was Sterling McCall Acura here in Houston, TX.

I WOULD NOT do business again with this dealership as the sales manager and salesman was extremely shady. They agreed to sell me the car which only had 17 miles on it (was 10 and i put 7 on it during my test drive) and did a BAIT AND SWITCH when I was filling out the paperwork. They told me they would wash the car and have it all ready to go for me to pick up in the morning. When I got arrived the next day, I noticed that they had swapped the car with a vehicle that had been on the lot for a few months (Registration sticker was 9/6 and mileage was 76 miles). After calling them out and letting another sales manager (the original sales manager would not come out to speak to me) know how upset I was, they agreed to recontract the vehicle. The salesman admitted to switching out the VIN number on my contact prior to having me sign it in order to make the deal work. His exact words were "it was such a bad deal for us that we had to eek our way out of it and the only way to make the deal work was to give you older inventory." >:(

Please make sure you note the VIN number of the vehicle you're purchasing so this doesn't happen to you. I'm sure this car dealership has done this many times before but hasn't been caught or others just haven't posted their concerns...

I'd be PO'd too!  It was a unilateral decision made by the dealer without first informing the customer.  I would have walked away from the deal and purchased the car at another dealer after informing Acura Consumer Affairs of the dealer's Bait and Switch!!!

I have been following this thread for some time now. When I was looking to buy, I got 2 decent prices on an MDX AWD ADV. One was from Apple Acura in York, PA. for $44,825 + tax and tags. The other was from Frankel Acura in Cockeysville, MD. for $45,585 + tax and tags. Rosenthal Acura was a joke. I was going to trade my '07 MDX. Apple offered me 14k(same as Carmax) and Frankel offered 15k. This was in the middle of Dec. so I don't know if they are willing to do the same now. I use these Forums to see what people are buying the cars for and I though I could do better than what they were offering me so I did not buy. I'm only posting this to give others some more price points that are out there. I bought a VW Touareg TDI for 3k more. Go figure.

Bad stuff. If the dealer approached me, straight up, and asked if I would accept the older stock to help him out on the deal, I would have probably said yes. After they tried to switch without asking, I would have walked.

Wait a minute, wait a minute -- Sterling McCall Acura, is that the Acura dealer down on the Southwest Freeway?

Quick check, yes it is. I gave them a really bad review about 2 years ago. They advertised a used Cadillac that I was quite interested in. I called them, and made sure the car was available for a test drive, then drove down there on my lunch break only to discover that the drivers seat was malfunctioning and locked in the most forward position. Absolutely impossible to take it for a test drive. Quite obviously they did absolutely no checkout on the car after it was taken in trade.

I posted a negative review here, and on Yelp. When I went to Yelp to post the review, I found several other very negative reviews of the same dealer.

pulled the trigger today. was considering FWD base, AWD base, FWD tech, AWD tech. would have been willing to get the Tech only if some additional signifcant discount was offered. was even considering a 2014 AWD Tech, but it had more miles on it than I would have liked and the dealership wasn't willing to budge on price.

ended up getting the AWD base, which are not easy to find, which I found odd because 2 years ago, AWD was the only option. dealer said that it already came with the door edge film, wheel locks, and nitrogen-filled tires, but I wasn't willing to pay extra for those things. I asked dealer about other accessories, but they were extremely expensive so I will be buying them separately myself and doing the relatively simple installs.

2015 AWD base, $41,210 (including destination). not including the other fees (tax, documentation, etc) since that varies depending on location.

for the 2015 AWD Tech, the lowest price I was quoted was $44,790 (including destination), which is actually a great price, but still not enough for me to make the leap for the tech package.

for the 2014 AWD Tech, the price I was quoted was $43,990 (including destination), which is a great price, but considering that it is a 2014 model, the miles on the vehicle, and the prices I was quoted for a 2015 model, it wasn't discounted enough for my taste.

hope this helps for those in the hunt for a good deal. to find the invoice pricing look at the Costco Auto Program online (be sure the number you are looking at includes the destination to get an accurate comparison).

    I felt like I got a year-end-deal, but not at all a year-end-steal.

Congrats on the new car purchase and thank you for sharing all of the details with us. We are looking for the best deal in the Del Val area and was wondering what dealer quoted you the lowest prices you mentioned above for 2015 AWD Tech $44,790?

    Thank you!

As a Oregon resident does one have to pay CA taxes if you buy the vehicle from anywhere in California? I am seeing the deals offered in bay area is very competitive compared to what is available in Oregon. So can I buy it from California and drive back to Oregon without incurring any CA state tax?

I've always heard that CA dealers have to collect tax for any car delivered in California. If that is still the case, you'd have to have it delivered to you, in Oregon.

Talk to Brian Powers at Niello Acura (Sacramento, CA). They know how to do this right. They sold cars to people coming from Oregon and Washington states before. You don't have to pay CA sale tax. They are one of the largest Acura dealer on the West coast so their price was very competitive when I shopped for my car.

    Good luck.

paid $43.5k for 2015 SH-AWD base, car only in Seattle, WA. No tax, destination fee, doc...
I probably could have done better but local dealers weren't cooperating :(
I feel like i overpaid by about $1k looking at other people's number here.

$43,912 is the TMV for a Wallingford zip so you didn't pay too much. I don't see any other Seattle area reports in this discussion, but it's not a cheap town (I know a little about rents in Wallingford - yikes!).

Someone will always get a better deal than you (but they may have to drive to Portland or grind for weeks to get it). Relax and enjoy the new ride!

Picked up my silver moon/graystone MDX Tech Today... Mentioned pricing in my previous post. In response to the question asked.... On top of that price was dealer doc fee $349, tax, & registration. Overall seemed like a decent deal. Dealer was Acura of Denville. If anyone in NJ is interested I can let you know the salesman I dealt with.

We checked out the Highlander first then the MDX the same day, and found the later a lot better: It's definitely worth the few grand extra for a much better car. The only problem is MDX AWD base is hard and we don't want to pay 3-4 grand more for "Tech package" basically GPS and bunch of other things we don't need. We were lucky got the only car available. MPG is around 18 local, or 25 in our last shi trip to Tahoe.

Just purchased a 2015 MDX AWD with Tech at Springfield Acura in NJ for $44,900 including dest fee.  Doc fee was $398.

I was offered the Lo-Jack option on the car for $795 including installation when filling out paperwork with one of the business managers.  Is this a good deal?  Could I have gotten the Lo-Jack cheaper elsewhere?

I figured I would recoup the upfront cost over the ownership of the car, while having some peace of mind, with the annual auto insurance discount on the annual premium just for having Lo-Jack.

I also bought Acura OEM accessories via Amazon and eBay to save even more.  Just search using the part numbers - all season floor mats for all 3 rows for $290, cargo tri-folding tray for $100 and cargo cover for $220 via eBay.

Thank you all for your posts, it helped me immensely during my sales negotiations with the dealerships in northern NJ.  I know I could have done slightly better, but satisfied with the deal and the car itself!

How much are you saving on insurance? Do you want your car back if it is stolen? (although, recovery may be pretty fast with Lo-Jack). The Lo-Jack site has a search tool for installers so you could call around and double check the installation price.

    Congrats on the new ride!

for those looking to get the 2015 Acura MDX, keep in mind that sales for 2016 Acura MDX is starting tomorrow. this may give you some leverage for your negotiations. or, maybe sway you towards the 2016 instead.

I can't wait to see the discounts for the 2015's start to show up. I will probe my local dealer in the next couple days after the 2016's have arrived. I bought my 2009 at the end of the model year for a great price.
