Re: Edmunds Members - Cars and Conversations (Archived)
Yesterday marked 27 years since my Club Sport rolled off the Munich assembly line. My only to-do list is to replace the speakers- all but the rear speakers will come from Bavsound. Aside from that I'm ready to drive it for another 27 years...

Per Ford chat, my 2022 Maverick is scheduled to be built tomorrow.

Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous (Archived)
I reported the dealership to Ford. Ford sent a nice note back stating they would check into it and that they value me as a customer (although it’s been a few years since I was a Ford owner). Got a standard note back from Cronin Ford’s owner/GM stating how the market is setting pricing. I sent a note back stating lying is never acceptable in business, and his dealership lied. I never heard anything back.100%. And I would have had the printout showing "my price."I was browsing local inventory of Mustang Mach-Es and came across an available GT model. Clicked on the “unlock price” option which resulted in a schedule that clearly outlines the MSRP, and the “your price” which was equal to MSRP.Man, do I hate that. I think I may have had a conversation with the SM for wasting my time.
So, thought I may go check it out…could be a good deal at MSRP and you’d get the “old” tax credit. Made an appointment with a salesperson for yesterday afternoon, got a call in the morning from a sales manager to confirm the appointment. Got there promptly at 4:00. The salesperson has information available on the available new GT and a slightly used one they have in the showroom. Then he mentions something about markups on available units that customers had backed out on. Huh? Oh yeah…$10k markup on Mach-E GTs.
Ford has been cracking down on markups, so I'm sure they'd like to hear if the dealer wasn't honoring their own quoted price with ADM.

There must be something in the water (or air?

Well I have another unplanned/unexpected punch to report. Thanks to @breld I found this yesterday a couple of hours before the auction ended:
https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3RvB1QAX/2021-volvo-v60-t8-polestar-engineered
We looked at one of these a couple of years ago here and I've always had a thing for them. I occasionally look for them and being such low production numbers they rarely come up for sale and finding a new one is even more challenging.
Unfortunately this one does have an accident on the CarFax but after @breld and @michaell and I texted about it I feel it was repaired well and the ending price was reflective of a CarFax ding. I had been eyeing a similar model in silver at a dealer in Palm Springs that also had a "minor" accident on the CarFax and they were asking low 70's, who knows what they got for it but I feel OK with the price I paid for this car considering this market and a new one is also low $70's.
I'm working on getting it shipped out here, if nothing else it will help keep some miles off the Defender for a bit which is almost halfway to out of warranty.

I’ve seen ///M3 Touring replicas online before. This one looks like it came right from the factory like this:

We went through the leasing option for Sandy a little while ago. He drives so little that it make zero sense financially regardless. He would be saddled with a significant monthly payment for a very few miles of driving and of course there is no guarantee that the buyout price makes any sense at the end. He grumbles about fairly minor out of warranty maintenance items that crop up currently but there really is no comparison between the costs of those and the monthly lease payment he would be stuck paying.

For a minute, I thought you had a child named Sandy.
