Re: Edmunds Members - Cars and Conversations
Yes, I need to sign because it's alcohol.
Since the driver didn't actually attempt to deliver it, other than leaving the attempted delivery notice, I paid $8 to have it delivered to a local UPS store.
It's mostly for my son in law and I plan on bringing it on our trip to Ellicottville this weekend.
Picking up my new truck tomorrow, rescheduled from today, so we won't be around for tomorrow's delivery window.
Re: Edmunds Members - Cars and Conversations
Got my new washer delivered today, but, having a Homer Simpson moment. My old front loader drained directly into the sump pit, with the hose running flat along the ground.————————————————-Can't do that with the new top loader, as it just dumps the water out as soon as it works its way through the basin.Correction: the radon fan on the top of the sump is pulling so much of a vacuum that it is sucking the water out of the washer tub. So I have a call out to my plumber to come up with a solution, likely installing a separate drain system for the washer with its own built in pump.
The code around here would not allow a washing machine to drain into a sump that might eventually drain into a storm sewer. Washing machines around here must be connected to the main city sewer system or a septic tank system for the house.
FWIW, I’ve never heard of the suction side of a radon fan being connected to a sump in any way. I always thought the suction side had to be connected directly to the earth, well away from ground water. Being connected to a sump I don’t know how it is efficiently removing radon.

When we were shopping Porsche dealers, we had a couple of good experiences at the dealers we didn't buy from. But, zero follow-up.Didn't have to provide info, until we were offered a test-drive. At the first dealership, they gave us back-to-back test drives, one vehicle with 21" wheels and another with 20" wheels, for comparison. Then brought us to a desk to see the service loaners available, along with MSRP and asking prices.
At the 2nd dealership, we test drove another one. Looked over some units. New kid with no business card, but he took all of our info down.
3rd dealership in Louisville had better options/colors (thanks @mjfloyd1 !), so sent an inquiry on a couple of units on-line. The next day, one of the salespeople contacted me via e-mail, with extensive links and histories on both of them. Within a day, we had a deal, and picked it up the next day.
This started on a Saturday, then Tuesday. On Wednesday, contacted the third dealer, then picked up our car on Friday.
The two local dealerships? Neither one made any contact after our unsolicited visit. Not by phone or e-mail. Ever.
Glad it worked out. I was just throwing spit balls and that one stuck😂. That’s how it should work. Frustrating when you are serious and they don’t get back to you, but it seemed like the Louisville dealership had exactly what your wife was looking for.

Re: Mystery car pix
@fintail - Piccadilly Circus looks bit different now as it is no longer a roundabout.
@texases - the traffic was slow enough then to walk across- mainly due to the tourists really and they tidied it up to speed it up but there is actually a pedestrian subway below the statue (Eros) which links into the Underground station so you can cross below the traffic.
For New years eve since the 1960s they have boarded over Eros - he is actually made of Aluminium and Bronze so a bit vulnerable and the new year celebrations are nowadays are centred on the larger fountains inTrafalgar Square.
He's not even really called Eros - it is supposed to be Anteros but that was too posh for cockneys .
The whole thing is called the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain in memory of a victorian politician .
And as anyone will tell you the arrow in Eros' s Bow points towards Shaftesbury Avenue - so it means the arrow will be buried there !

For @Kirstie_H and any other Edmunds staffers dealing with the Vanilla software: for the last few days, this CCBA discussion (and AFAIK, only this discussion) does not take me to the first unread post when I click on my bookmark, but instead to the top of the last page of the discussion. This time it took me to the top of page32, which was/is an empty page.As Michael indicated, I reported this issue to our software provider yesterday. They got back to me right away and promised to investigate. Hoping they find a fix soon, because it's fairly annoying.
Also, thanks for actually tagging me - makes it MUCH easier to find posts where you're looking for me.
