I had a bullseye like that filled once on my Accord. Took one look at the result and knew it would bother me every time I drove the car so told the glass place to replace it. Same deal, they applied the repair charge to the replacement cost so no risk to me. And in NJ you pay for your own windshields (I have never had one done that insurance paid for. 3 I think, including one on my daughters car).
You can change your comprehensive deductible in NJ independent of collision deductible. So I carry $100 on comp specifically in case of windshield damage.

The hail damage is roughly in the middle of the windshield toward the driver's side. We got a $15 repair kit at O'Reilly's and we'll see if that does the trick. Thanks for the info on windshield insurance in KY.I would go to a professional shop especially since it is a comprehensive claim with $0 deductible. Then if it can’t be repaired or is repaired and is in your line of view, they can replace the windshield.

I would actually take the Golf because it sounds like it really needs to get a good long run to clean it up internally! Burn the crap out.

Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
I know my single daughter wants me to move in up there & just come back down every 90 days to see my pain doctor. That would mean giving up Enterprise which would be just fine with me. I know my wife is talking about going another couple of years until she cuts back to only TurboTax plus her private clients. This way, I could get a good look at which area we want to end up at. The oldest & her husband live just south of Orlando, St. Cloud, and have no plans to move any time soon. Hoping for our daughter in St. Augustine to re-locate down to the Orlando area also as we'd like to be within a 45 minute drive between both of them...an hour at tops. I mean FaceTime is nice & all but we'd like to see each other much more often as we miss them & they us. Haven't met the grand-dog yet either in person so don't want to miss these moments with them any longer. And we're not the kind of parents to just come over whenever we like as we understand sometimes too much is well, too much! But the time to finally move out of South Florida is approaching...sooner then later!
Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
for acceleration, I didn't take the Maverick to the drag strip and never maxed out what it could do on RUG so having a little extra if I wanted to run it to redline was never going to matter to me.
