Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
@nyccarguy How do you like your 2025 Camry SE AWD so far? What kind of mpg are you getting, and what colors did you choose for the exterior and interior? So far, so good. I'm about 6 weeks in and somewhere around 2K miles. I never thought I'd say this about a Camry, but I love it! Our Camry is Underground (dark grey) with the Boulder (medium grey) interior. It rides great and is quite comfortable. Acceleration isn't blistering by any means, but it merges and passes well. Handling is competent. MPG is phenomenal. We are averaging 42-44 mpg. The few times I've filled up, there has been about 1/8 - 1/4 tank left. It takes less than 10 gallons per fill up.
I'm hoping to keep my TLX several more years, but if I were buying something for myself this year I'd probably get a Camry.
My 18 year old son averaged just over 20 mpg on his last tank in the Highlander. I've been averaging about 22-23 mpg in my Prelude.
Signature settings updated. Down to 3 vehicles for 3 drivers. What is this world coming to?
Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
I think it's time to let EVs sink or swim on their own merits- without the government putting a thumb on the scale.
Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
Don't worry. I've got issues with THEM too:)How about a Saudi-funded enterprise, built in this here ol' US of A?The future is electric. If the US wants to compete in a global economy they have to make, market and sell EVs. Otherwise US car companies will just become a niche economy confined to North America, and China will become the global EV power. They know that. Current policies may make it difficult in the short term but there is no putting the genie back in that bottle. It’s crazy to kneecap your own companies just as they are becoming really competitive but there we are.Lucky for us, I'm not planning on buying or driving ANY type of Chinese made EV ANYTIME EVER.
Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
As we know, the $7500 EV tax credit ends on September 30th.I think Stellantis recently announced the return of the V8 in some models.
Currently there are no more fines or enforcement for the 50 year old Corporate Average Fuel Economy. And so for the next four years at least CAFE is dead.
It seems like there are probably going to be 25% tariffs on most imported vehicles to the US.
All three of those things seem significant. I wonder what the results are likely to be in the next few years.
In the short term it seems like there are going to be huge sales on EVs.
But after that sales of EVs are likely to slump. EV sales in 2026 in the US will probably be lower than they are this year.
In a couple of years I wonder if we might see a return of a V-8 on some vehicles?

Put my current LG OLED on a heavy wooden stand (actually one of those fancy furniture "media centers"). Pretty easy compared to mounting it, or wrestling one of those plasma TVs of yore. The only issue isn't the weight but wrapping your arms around a 65" TV.
Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
I'm not chiming in on whether or not EV's are the future... but I'll stand on the hill that without the credits sales have nowhere to go but down.
That $7500 (and sales tax credits in some states) put a lot of drivers in electrics that otherwise would not have been. I know without the crazy lease I would not have an EQE.

Re: Edmunds Members - Cars and Conversations
Fun morning - I turn the shower on, run to the linen closet to grab a fresh towel and expect a hot shower when I get back.... Nope!
Get dressed, disarm the alarm and take a walk outside to make sure the inlet and exhaust were clear and they were. Go down stairs and it's flashing a code 11. Quick Google action is no flame sensed. Noritz said it is usually the flame sensor needing to be cleaned. OK - I can handle that. Open the unit up and my issue was very apparent. There were a ton of leaves that were sucked into the air intake preventing the unit from breathing. It was enough to fill the dust bin of the small vacuum we keep in the basement. I have to get some sort of cover for the intake pipe so this doesn't happen again.
Naturally, this pushes my whole morning back, so I jumped on the laptop to get out something that was on a time crunch this morning and ate breakfast home. Traffic was then a nightmare with I95 shut down and I ended up jumping back to NJ on one bridge and then back into PA on the next ahead of the accident.
