Re: Assistance with 2014 Ford Mustang v6 auto Premium Convertible pricing 77k miles
Based on your new criteria, I'd say go for it. If you're just looking for a happy fun car, you only live once, and this doesn't sound like it has high potential to be an utter disaster, and the price is in line with what it should be (based on what we know about the vehicle thus far).————————————————
Most of the people giving buying advice in this forum are certified members of our Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous group, and have purchased at least one fun vehicle kind of on a whim. If you like it, you can afford it, and the idea of driving it puts a smile on your face, It's not likely that anyone here will try to talk you out of it.
@Kirstie_H, why are you trying to mother your son who says he’s “well off financially”? He sounds like a grown boy who doesn’t need any help from momma trying to buy a car with a salvaged title, then wants a fun 10 year old used car.
When I was young and “well off financially”, I bought new cars and only kept them for a few years because I didn’t want to deal with maintenance issues. Kinda like, out of warranty, out of my garage. I didn’t have to ask my mom if I was doing the right thing either. I’m all grown up now and still almost “well off financially”, I swear.

$35 is amazingly cheap. He could have said $80, and I might not have been super happy, but still would have gone ahead. The 40% of driveway (one side of a 2-car wide drive) also had about half of the snow I shoveled from the other side. So, there was no way I was going to be able to shovel it, myself.Driving out of my street, saw a guy with a big pickup truck, snow blowing a neighbor's driveway and sidewalk. Asked him if he had time to do mine. (I only had about 40% of the driveway left, plus some serious snowplow banks around the end of the driveway)That will ensure that he will come back next time. I hope you got his number.
He came down and looked at it.. said, sure. How much? $35.
I didn't have him do the sidewalk by the street, as that would be the sidewalk to nowhere.
Took him about 15-20 minutes. Fire hydrant, mailbox and massive snowplow berm are all clear, plus the 40% of driveway I didn't shovel on Monday. Gave him $50, and we were all happy.
$35 is a pretty good price these days. I was lucky enough to get my neighbor to do mine for $40 and he’s reliable which is worth his weight in gold.
We don't look to be above freezing in the next 10 days, and have 3-4 more inches forecast for tomorrow. I really, really needed it done.
And, yes, I have his number..

From your original post-I would enjoy a convertible, I like how it looks, and the 2014 mustang engine seems reliable based on other's experience. I'm well off financially and can take care of it mom I swear, please?
"I'm not a car or speed person I just want a little comfort and a lot of longevity out of it."
Please take this in the spirit that its meant: This vehicle is not THAT. If you're wanting to keep ownership costs reasonable, including insurance, and have a vehicle for which parts are readily available, you're likely looking in the Honda Civic/Accord, Toyota Corolla/Camry range.
If I were looking for a low-priced vehicle that isn't necessarily glamorous, but that has a track record of reliability and positive ratings from consumers, I'd try to find a Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe, but that's just my personal preference.
My other post was for a car to just have for transportation, this is for transportation and enjoyment. It's worth the extra trouble and money for the enjoyment aspect. I work from home and don't need to be out in bad weather.
If I could have deleted the other post to keep this one on track I would have.

I wish I could have "liked" that a few hundred times.I didn't mean to just throw it out there loose!————————————————
Some folks need it spelled out…syllable by syllable. Like separate the salami from the milk.

Re: Edmunds Members - Cars and Conversations
It’s easier for me to understand that differences in picture quality are often more difficult to detect than it is with respect to sound quality- I guess because there are so many abysmal sound sources out there that decent sound quality is seldom heard.
Although I do remember my FIL saying that he thought DVDs were just an attempt to get people to buy new products. He had decent eyesight and was not senile, but he claimed SD VHS picture quality looked perfectly fine to him…

I love the Samsung sound bar we got for the new house. Works seamlessly with the Samsung tv. And vastly better than the built in tiny speakers!
We have the Samsung bar, sub, and rear speaker kit for our bedroom. Absolutely perfect for the application. The little amp box sits behind the bed and the speakers are so tiny they just blend into our nightstands next to the lamps.
We watch a lot of our nighttime TV in there so I had to have better sound.

Re: I spotted an (insert obscure car name here) classic car today!
It's probably one of those things where, if you saw the two side-by-side, the short model would look awkward. But on its own, it doesn't seem so weird. I've seen a '62 show up at the Fall Hershey show a few times, and from what I remember, it only looked awkward from certain angles.
In a similar vein, I think a '67 Bonneville is about 7-8" longer than my Catalina. In this case though, 3" of it is a wheelbase stretch, with the extra 4-5" being tacked on in back of the rear axle. My Catalina feels "normal" for the most part, but there's been a few times that I'd be parked next to a '67 Bonneville at the GM show, and I swear it makes my car look downright stubby!

I guess it’s all relative but it amuses me calling those short anything!
