Congrats.
Colin is right, but insurance premiums are nearly invisible, usually just a line item in your paycheck, and people tend to look only at the bottom line.

So nonchalant about it, too. ;-)
Congrats!

Cheers Pat.
so .... we'd talked about just getting married when we got the license, asked about it in the clerk's office .. they said .. come back in 1/2 hour when the judges are back from lunch ... (and who has time to take off another 1/2 day???!!!)
and while I like juice's suggestion of calling him Mr. Brenda ... his name is Jack
thanks for the good wishes, guys ...

Remember, vote early and vote often!

P.S. I have a feeling that this too will end up in court. Lawsuits to go around...according to the Florida Constitution, the ability to do a manual recount is required..with these touch screen machines here, that ability does not exist...if anybody sees my vote floating around, please mail it back to me...
I've been off the board for some time now but I'm dropping back in!
So I just got the invite to this event and was curious as to whether there is any buzz about it on the board. It took me all of one minute to finish my registration! I'm just thrilled to go golfing up in Half Moon Bay with fellow Subaru owners!
So does anybody have any specific insight to this event?

The lawsuits currently in court have mostly to do with lack of recount ability; see this article from today's NY Times
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/19/nyregion/19voting.html?oref=log- in
But these will be nothing compared to what will follow; there already are complaints about Glenda Hood, Katherine Harris's successor here. She already has tried to fiddle around with the vpter rolls; one way by adding thousands of blacks (who generally vote Democratic here) to the no-vote list while adding only 80 Hispanics (who generally vote Republican). Needless to say, that list was scrapped after very quickly. She has also tried to invalidate many new registrations.

Steve, Host
(who voted today, so spare me the political talk 'cause I'm done <g>)
Maybe we should export our version. Australia has Universal Sufferage and actually requires all enrolled voters (ie if you are over 18 and an Australian Citizen) to vote. Heavy fines if you don't without good reason and about 95% of the population gets a valid vote in at each election. Australians tend to be fairly civic minded without the need for heavy handed civics teaching.
We had our federal election about 10 days ago with the conservative Liberal Party of Australia being returned with an increased majority. Given that everyone, including the politicians had expected a cliff-hanger, the Prime Minister is still looking like a Cheshire Cat. The opposition is still in blood letting mode as its leaders seek to avoid their necs being chopped.
Abosolutely nothing to do with Subarus but for the fact that after the rosey predictions of furture economic prosperity before the poll, life has instantly shifted to "Shock! Horror!, Disaater. inflation will rise on oil shock. Why am I cynical? Petrol prices are on the rise.
Cheers
Graham
I heard that! ;-)

I'll drop off my famous crab dip early...not sure if I'll make it for the full chat.
Who will make sure our guests of honor will be there?
Bob
Loosh, congratulations with the baby!
Brenda, wow! Does he type as quickly as you do? :-)
Mike and Hutch made their appearances... good to see oldtimers coming back!
Nothing particularly new in my neck of woods. Budget-wise we're not ready yet to buy new Forester, so I'm grateful that my old one is still running great... 109.5K now. Hubby is enjoying his WRX (33K).
I got a speeding ticket (first one in 15 years) and had to sit through the Traffic School one Saturday. What a torture!
I'll give Brenda a virtual B9SC, the real one in mine.

BTW, I was in your office area a few weeks ago to attend a conference. We should get the Bay Area crew together sometime.
Ken
Fortunately I got only a warning.

Re: virtual wedding...I'll make my famous geographic-locations-shaped latkes.
I hope you have a wonderful party! Will there be photo's so I can see how the festivities go?
Patti
Would be funnier if it was a typing clinic! LOL!
Maybe I should go to her clinic since I can't keep up at the chat.

Actually, Pat and I will send her that time-delay keyboard we've been wanting her to have all these years, maybe that way we can keep up!
Patti: sounds cool, let us know but don't fall into the dungeon doing it! ;-)

Hey, I wonder if bigelm's new buddy at DDB had anything to do with this idea. :-D
