    Thanks Craig!

I would like a mouse with at least two buttons. Know anyone who makes a bluetooth wireless model? Guess I've some shopping to do. ;-)

I'm not sure about Mac compatibility, but Logitech has a Bluetooth version of their excellent MX700 optical mouse. But why Bluetooth? Do you need more than 30ft of range?

  • goneskiiangoneskiian Member Posts: 381
    Ken,
Why bluetooth? I don't know. I guess I thought that was the only way to connect one wirelessly to my new PowerBook. I haven't read the whole manual yet but I haven't seen any mention of any other way.

Tom wrote:" I really like the silver! You will too! It's a nice bright silver, and here in the Seattle where it rains so much I go months without washing my car, it doesn't look as dirty!"

I am so happy to discover I'm not the only one in the Crew who uses this philosophy to decide on color!

silver definitely hides dirt, dust and rainspots best.. I've found white is much easier to manage than black, at least you can't see every little bit of dust or rainspot, but dirt is still a problem of course.

silver sure is popular these days. I wonder if you exclude corporate vehicles and all trucks (unfair, perhaps), if silver isn't the most popular now. when you include everything white has been king for a long, long time of course.

Don't forget it also hides swirl marks pretty well. Yeah, it's getting kind of boring seeing so many other silver vehicles, but it's the best balance of looks and ease of care in my opinion.

I remember when every car seemed to be green, then white, but yeah, now it's silver.

This is a misquote but I believe that silver is the most popular color this year and 25% of Hondas sales were silver. This for me does not make me want silver, even if it looks the best. Also, personally I don't think silver has much heart. I think it simbolizes the hal-centric new milennium where people are afraid to show their true colors..I'll take mine in red. :)

FWIW, I like my Outbacks green and GT's silver :)
  • tsytsy Member Posts: 1,551
is an interesting color. It's kinda greenish in some light.

Frog- I like Subaru's silver- it's nice and bright, not the dull darker Honda silver. I myself would never buy a red car. I have a small problem with speeding tickets as it is! (bad luck, not because of the way I drive)

Rob- I like green too, FWIW!

Ian- I'll leave you a note when I see your car!

    Mark- Just practical OCD. ;-)!

stopped by my Subaru dealer to make a service appt today....10 minutes alone in the back of the new FXT and my Labrador ate through both outboard rear seatbelts....grrrrrr!
The dealer has a dark blue Legacy GT LTD wagon with taupe leather... and I have a $25 gift card-for-test drive certificate....guess what I'll be doing during R&R of seatbelts!

sounds like you should also visit the parts department and get the dog gate.

    Not a bad idea, though.

    Or get a muzzle. ;-)

That's pretty funny. Just keep the old seatbelts and knot them up into a chew-toy.

    Craig
  • locke2clocke2c Member Posts: 5,038
I don't know that I'd suggest that. the dog will get the idea that chewing seatbelts is OK and will repeat the behavior if given a chance.

I swear it's like Subaru bastes their OE parts with some sort of au jus sauce!

Remember the rodent that chewed wdb's throttle cable?

    What is up!? LOL

seems like there isnt much demand for seatbelts for a 2004 Forester...they had to order them....from Japan! 3-4 weeks...so Ive repaired the chewed through set with my trusty "Speedy Stitcher. And got a dog barrier!

While I was waiting ,the dealer turned me loose alone with a LGT LTD wagon with the 5EAT. Twenty miles of rainy Blue Ridge Parkway, interstate and tight, hilly neigborhood streets later, and I'm ready to start collecting cans and bottles....what a sweet ride!

Yup new seats, cage, window net, belts. Just need to do the fire extinguisher, and a bar for the belts and it'll be done.

Aug 22 it gets painted. :)

I'm kicking myself for not going to the Tri-State meet. :-( For some reason, I thought that it was on Sunday and made plans for Saturday. I should have cancelled my Saturday plans.

Exhaust, wait til you see the bling muffler we got for it. Racingbrake our sponsor had made some very nice mufflers a while back but they were so nice the cost was out of the market, so they save them for special resellers etc. They gave us one this past weekend and we jammed it on to test the sound under the L. It sounds hottttt.

Several of the Crew got the benefit of Subaru VIP invoice pricing when they bought their Subies through membership in IMBA ( International mountain Biking Association). For those of you who have a camera , creative, off-beat sense of humor and a bike helmet ( surely nobody here like that), IMBA has a contest going for members to submit photos which illustrate their new membership campaign: What Would We Do Without Trails?" Some silly examples are on their website www.imba.com. The winner gets a San Juan singlespeeed racing bike. I would think a photo with a Subaru in it would have an edge on the competition ( of course!)

It is nice for a 93. Needs a little TLC. A couple of oil leaks. With bit of $$$ it should be a great road trip car.
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
    mmm another turblow legacy :)

I love mine use it as my commuter car, past 2 weeks I've been really wringing it out for all it's worth cause I've been super busy before work, always running late.

I did some nice upgrades on mine:
    H&R Springs
    Koni Sport Adjustable Strut Inserts
4-pot Subaru Brakes, HP+ Pads, WRX Racing Brake Rotors
'99 RS Rims w/Faulken Azenis Tirs
    20% tint :)

Also wanted to send out a special thanks to several people:

Alex, TBG, Adam, Ed, Kristen, Kyle- You guys make the best Pitcrew ever and teamates. No matter what people say Motorsports is truely a team sport, cause without the support of you guys before, during and after the race, we would have never been able to start or even finish it.

Team IAC- The rest of the members who were there onsite supporting us and who week in and week out are there to help out and led to this momentus occasion. The many rainy auto-x events, the long hauls to HPDEs, the sleepless nights working on the racecars, the cheesy hotels and rain-driven drives to practice at HPDEs in various spots.

NASIOC- got me hooked on auto-x about 5 years ago, progressed up from there!

    Our Sponsors-
RacingBrake: these guys have really really been there for us. Providing us with brakes, rotors, pads you name it. A real grassroots effort by a company taking interest in our team and subarus in general. These guys are local and really care!
AZP Installs without their continued support of parts, garage space and time and effort the cars would not have made it to the track

Cool, mike, love that sign, what font did you use? LOL

In what position did you start and finish? Just to complete an hour of hard racing is an accomplishment by itself, though.

Way to carry the Subie flag!

    Qualified 15th out of 18.
Finishe 13th (not positive yet) out of 18.

Beat out the other cars due to mechanical or driver error!

My motto now is.... "To finish FIRST, first you must FINISH" :)

Heck I could have driven it another 2hrs or more on the tires, pads and gas I had in the tank!

  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
If we put you on Atkins and carry less gas in the tank, you'd have been in the top 10. ;-)

You joke, but in all seriousness, we could have dropped fuel and if I dropped a few lbs could have finished 1 or 2 places higher. Along with a few other items like an alignment etc.

The car is in no size shape of form in "perfect" shape. We barely got it ready on friday night at 3am for saturday.

Once we really sort it out it'll do better I'm sure.
