by the way, its from a dealer in western north carolina.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks
2.9 for 36
3.9 for 48
4.9 for 60
Honda is doing 2.9% APR for 60 months.
ahalyaa
Thanks
Price - $32,100 (no doc/misc fees, this is total price incl. destination)
Trade - $19,500 (2003 Pilot EX-L w/aftermkt DVD, 33.5k mi, car was in an accident, this is hurting it a bit)
Only extra is PA sales tax (6%) and $60 PA registration
Incidently, he told me I can switch to touring for $34,650, touring/DVD for $36,000 or touring NAV&DVD for $38,500.
So far the dealer has been very professional and courteous, no games.
$33,000 including side steps and roof rack plus 6% sales tax and $150
doc fee (registration & others). 4.74% financing for 60 months. I was
trying to get the 2.9% but told that was only available for Honda series
(Pilot etc..) for now. Don't know if that's true.
That $150 contains some $25 for "On line processing"
fee. But I thought I am getting a good deal overall so I was not very
hard on that.
Any thoughts?
Seems like a decent deal. I have been quoted $32,100 w/o the roof rack and side steps. My guess is there are work 700-800. So it looks pretty good. By any chance did you get them to include Mud Flaps, Cargo mat and all weather mats?
Also, can you tell which dealer you go it from and was the financing thru Honda/Acura Credit?
The dealer we went to is in Montgomeryvill and financing was through them (that was part of the condition with the price, but they would match any other financing programs in the market)
s.
Also, not sure where you are from, but PA dealers are NOT open on Sundays so I don't think you would be able to reach him anyway. I sent him an email yesterday on our deal and did not hear back. Very unlike him. Maybe he wasn't in on Sat. I am planning on closing out my deal (hopefully) tomorrow (Labor Day).
Best of Luck.
Been a lurker on these threads for long. Benefited from the info posted here, so thought I would post my deal here as well.
Just bought a '05 MDX w/ NAV and RES in the NY tri-state area with running boards, all weather mats, trunk tray, wheel locks, mud flaps and VIN etching for $38,720 (incl. destination) - tax title and registration extra. Cash purchase i.e., no financing.
Negotiated online and over the phone with at least 10 dealers and got them to bid against each other. Not sure if this is the best price I could have got given the $1500 marketing support but any additional negoatiation would have had dimishing returns.
Overall quite happy with the purchase except that gas prices are at 3.50 for premium.
2). Power Acura of Torrance send me the best quote $36,330 right away.
3). South Coast Acura of Costa Mesa, NORM REEVES ACURA OF MISSION VIEJO and Tustin Acura offered quotes ranging from $37,500 to $39,500.
4). Norm Reeves Acura of Mission Viejo price matched the best offer, but later backed out saying the color combination could not be located.
5). Test drived MDX touring with Navi at local dealer, my wife like a lot the
Silver with Quartz leather MDX shown in the brochure.
6). Tried to close the deal with Power Acura of Torrance, the dealer could not be reached for a week, voice mail not returned. Got hold of the dealer once or twice, the dealer promised to locate a Silver/Quartz MDX Touring with Navi, but failed to call back as promised.
7). I figured Power Acura was not very eager to close the deal and got nervous of the low invetory as told by multiple dealers, determined to close a deal during the labor day weekend, I sent email to more dealers including Santa Monica Acura, Downey Acura and Riverside Acura.
8). After a few emails back and forth with Santa Monica Acura, reached a deal with San ta Monica at $36,850. Very good experience. spent 4-5 hours from the first email to the last email with VIN and out of the door cost.
9). Drove to Santa Monica Sunday, dealer had a misunderstanding of the color combination, and I believe it is a honest mistake. The dealer promised to get the exact combination in 2 hours, and took a few hundred dollors off the negotiated price.
10). Had a lunch at Santa Monica downtown and a walk on the beach, called the dealer 2 hours later, and the vehiche was ready in the dealership. very nice,
11). charged $5000 to a credit card as down pay, and financed the rest with 2.9% for 36 month to take advantage of the promotion.
12). The paper work take about 2 hours, including the dealer went over the features such as bluetooth phone, GPS and initial setup of OnStar.
Overall, I had a great experience, and my wife is very pleased (she is ready to deliver a baby in a month), with the due date approaching, I am very happy to close the deal during the labor day weekend with a good deal.
Thanks
Invoice + Destination Fee: $34,202
Cargo Cover: $142
Tax (SF-8.5%): $2923.07
DMV: $286
Documentation: $45
Ca. Tire Fee: $8.75
$37606.82 out the door.
I went with financing through them too at 4.9% for 60 months.
No trade in.
Stevens Creek was Ok to deal with. I did most of my dealings online. I also worked with Marin Acura and when i went in they tried to pull the typical car salesman tricks. Enough to annoy me that I bought at Stevens Creek. Marin definitely left me with a bad taste in my mouth, even though price was already negotiated.
Good luck and thanks for all the help everyone. Your advice certainly saved me money.
Thanks a lot

But, no referrals, please....

Actually I have been working on this car for moth and have not got my ideal deal as usually people got from this forum so far, and feel so tired.
Appreciate your more infor.
$32,200 MDX Premium (non-touring) including mud flaps and Wheel locks
$153.00 Doc & PA registration fee
$19,500 Trade-in allowance for my Pilot EX-L DVD, w/33,800 miles
Financed $22,000 at 3.9% for 4ys thru Acura. We finalized the paperwork on Tues to make sure we got the financing deal.
Deal was very smooth. Dealer even located the Sage Brush Pearl my wife wanted because they had sold their only one in that color last Friday.
Again thanks for everyones help.
I'm new to the forum & would appreciate your help. I'm in NY / Long Island and looking to lease a base model 2005 MDX. I have been speaking with CarDirect although I'm not sure their pricing is the best. I am flexible for dealers within the tri-state area. Does anyone have any suggestions on dealers / NY pricing or lease promotions?
Thanks.
The head internet guy lost the sale with what he thinks were his "slick" tactics.
I purchased my '05 MDX w/NAV and DVD for $38,900 out the door, including tax, title, destination and everything. This also included 2 accessories: cargo cover and side moldings. This was purchased in late June, while the $1500 incentive was going on, and 0.9% financing.
When the dealer says the price is impossible, i'm here to say anything is possible.
I got this quote from Chevy Chase, and Pohanka.matched it. I would advise against Chevy Chase, as their internet sales manager was not a good sport and resorted to unethical tactics after I went with Pohanka.
Good Luck.
My car buying strategy has always been to email a bunch of dealers with exactly what i'm looking for, including options, and the Out the Door price i'm willing to pay. I only talk bottom line prices, so there are no surprises. I did this a few days before the end of the June. With the price I was willing to pay, I also stated I would purchase it within a day or two to the dealer who would meet my price. Also tell them this email is going out to all local dealers and the dealer who can match it will win their business.
I honestly never expected a dealer to agree, but instead thought it would give me a better idea of the dealers price range to begin negotiations. It was by pure luck that Chevy Chase agreed on the first go. After getting it in writing over email that the price included all taxes (3% in VA), I forwarded the email to Pohanka, who at first were hesitant, but upon seeing the email with the terms, agreed to match it to any car within their inventory.
With this strategy, do your research. I went through every message on this board, and in my quote to them lowered it by roughly $1000 for my out the door price. I think the price for the car alone was roughly $37k, if I back the taxes and fees out. I also agree - I haven't seen a lower price, which is why I still lurk around these message boards to see whether my price was still a good deal or not!
The 0.9% was over 36 months.
The dealer was Davis Acura, Langhorne PA.
BTW - Both my wife and I love the MDX so far (even if it has been only 2 days)
Best of Luck.
I'm thinking this is a little high based on the pricing I have seen on this forum. Any help/information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
