Thanks for the input! I would totally go for a new/loaner vehicle given the incentives, but as far as I can tell there just aren't any 2019 loaners left in my area, and no new ones with my preferred options, unfortunately. I'll probably see what the dealer is willing to do on this one and go from there. Thanks again!

So, any massive lease incentives on a loaner X3? Asking for a friend...

Depends on region. I think loyalty is $1000 and Conquest is $750. Up here lease cash is $2500. If you can find an OL you’ll get another $500.

So up to $3750 for you.

    @qbrozen,
Looking for a ballpark value. I found out through my wife, no numbers were mentioned.
Getting an outstanding recall taken care of, already scheduled before I heard about her interest.
After that, I'll probably try Carvana.

He's just saying that selling cars to friends/family can sometimes be a headache because there are times when the expectation of such buyers is that anything that goes wrong with the car after the sale must somehow be your fault as the previous owner. :D

No, I agree. It can be a catch-22 no matter which way you swing it. Such things have never dissuaded me, but YMMV depending on the family member! Seems low risk with this particular transaction.

There are massive leasing incentives on the 2019 4-series. Couple that with 20% discount on a loaner, and you could be 30% off on one of those. So make sure you do all your homework on what you’d qualify for on a new/loaner. And, given that, I would want to be 30% off that one, if not more.

Agree - 30+% for a truly used example.

I spoke to the dealer and the lowest they’re willing to go is $41,000. Not quite 30% so I’ll keep shopping around but I do like it... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • qbrozenqbrozen Member Posts: 33,786
Well, that’s $2500 over the 30% mark. What price is happiness? Doesn’t seem like all that much if it is something you’ll keep long term.

If it’s spec’d the way you want it, then I’d be more accepting on price. Most loaners are black/black and pretty basic.

To proactively answer the “but why?”

Wife would love to get into a manual VW Alltrack SEL while they’re still available.

And I’d be up for swapping either Audi, and reducing the car load given our recent home purchase.

Strongly recommend the brown or beige interiors on the Alltrack, and the SEL is a great trim line with everything obviously. Also recommend going Stage 1 immediately. APR is good on this motor.

Thanks @andres3 - as you saw in the CCBA forum, we pulled the trigger today and my wife ended up with the black interior. She may have liked the beige, but definitely did not prefer the brown. She was fine with the black in order to get the Silk Blue, which was one of her top choices for the exterior.

We'll see how she feels about the 1.8T - I imagine she'll quickly adapt to it and be good with it.

My plan was cash out the RDX, pay off the HELOC, get a heavily subvented lease, then bank the extra monthly cash flow to be used to buy out the lease at the end. Basically pay us instead of interest to the bank. I felt the plan was genius. Probably should have forced her to look at a spreadsheet.

What I really need to do is get her to look at the list, and tell me what she’s willing to sign off on, then I can try to put a deal together.

Exact mileage would help me know if it went through Manheim recently. Last mileage reported to autocheck was only 16k. Anyway, blue, handshaker, 100k equals $2500’ish. So figure $4k-$4500
