In the Minneapolis, MN area, I Purchased a 2006 Sienna LE 8 Pass. with BZ #4 with floor mats for $25337 less $750 rebate = $24587.

The price before rebate is below invoice. I always have trouble trying to figure out true invoice because of the carpeted floor mats and door sill protectors are listed as a charged option "CF." This adds over $100 to the price, but it is not listed in Edmunds as an option. Does anyone understand this or why it is not listed as an option in edmunds?

I also purchased the 7yr/100K/No deductible warranty from toyota financial for $825. I had a great experience through the dealer internet department and was by far the best overall buying experience I have ever had. It is a great van and drives like a champ! :) This forum has giving me lots of knowledge, tips, and advice. This is a great forum because people continue to give back so other people can learn and make confident, informed, car purchases. Good luck shopping. :D

    Please Advice :

I would like to buy a Sienna with the following :
    - Leather
    - Navigation
    - DVD
    - 8 Seats

Is my assumption correct that I will have to go for a XLE with package 8. Also how much will it cost me.

I am looking at Honda Odyseese and the EX w Leather Nav. & DVD comes to around 31,000.

I am a old time Toyota customer so I want to check at TOYOTA before I make a final minivan decision.

    PLEASE HELP...

I don't believe 8 passenger seating is available in an XLE.
  • hansiennahansienna Member Posts: 2,312
Congratulations. You got a better price on your 2006 Sienna LE 8 than I did on my 2006 Sienna LE 7...and you also got a better price on the Toyota Extended Warranty.
Does your extended warranty also include the provision for refund of the ENTIRE purchase price ?

Option CF "Carpet Floor Mats/Door Sill Protector" was listed on my Sienna LE factory window sticker having an MSRP of $ 214 for the Denver Region. I, too, wonder why Edmunds pricing does not list option CF.
  • samba2samba2 Member Posts: 38
Does the LE offer leather, navigation, DVD & 8 seats.

I just bought a 2006 CE with Option #1 (cruise/roof rack), mats and tinted glass for $22,000 (includes doc fee) + TTL in Huntsville, AL. Dealing with the Internet Manager was relatively painless. I got quotes by phone/e-mail from ATL, Nashville and Birmingham, then gave the local dealer a chance to match it.
  • easye2easye2 Member Posts: 26
I am not sure if it has the provision for a refund of the entire purchase price? Where would that be stated? Fine print?

Is there a way to find out if the CF option is included in the Edmunds base invoice price? Is there someone here at Edmunds that can be asked? Is there a moderator that can help us out?
  • [Deleted User][Deleted User] ColoradoPosts: 0
Not sure if you saw this, but those options are included in the following package for the Sienna by Edmunds, along with a few others though.

    Z1 Preferred Premium Accessory Package
Includes carpeted floor mats, door sill protector, cargo net and first aid kit. MSRP $292 Invoice $187

As you've probably noticed... Toyota has a pretty convoluted way of doing things.. Certain distributors in the Southeast and Gulf Coast regions that add extras, etc..

It looks like the CF would be a PIO (Port Installed Option).. I'm sure it isn't included in any base price on Edmunds... and finding out the dealer's cost would be difficult, unless they show you their invoice... If you are looking for a ballpark, just figure 85-90% of MSRP for the invoice price.. Even if you are wrong, you'll only be off by $10-$20...

    regards,

I don't believe so. Check pricing on this site to compare available option packages. Bear in mind, though, that not all option packages are available in all regions (you'll have to check with a dealer to learn what's actually available in your area). I don't why Toyota operates this way but they do.

I am looking for the exact same thing in Mpls (LE8 #4). Here is what I have found so far from the internet depts:

    LE 7 #4

Maplewood Toyota: $24798 Fast and straightforward.

Carlson Toyota: $25010. This one is closest to my house. Said I would like to make it happen with them but math rules.A little back and forth with e-mail and the guy acts like he can't move (any more and we are losing money story).

Rudy Luther Golden Valley: $24719 Interet woman gave up on me when I countered too low - handed me to the used car dept. Told that guy she gave up soon and to call me back. She hasn't.

Toyota City: Visited here one night to look - another day to drive. Very informative and no pressure. This dealer is close also and is a Luther dealer, which has been good experience (the dealer, not the 98 Explorer that I bought from them). Doesn't seem to have an Internet person, cause nobody responds.

Burnsville: After the test drives (went down the street and drove the EX-L), my wife favored the Sienna and decided we need the 8th seat. One quote came back from Burnsville quickly though a kind of slick bid form. The ignored my offer though and listed $25047, which I suppose is like 24847 to a to a with a LE 7.

I am going to try to make something happen this weekend using all the great knowledge I have picked up here. Where did you make your good deal? I am trying to achieve $26,000 OTD which means I am $700 off, knowing that is a tall feat, but the the heck - last days of the month in February?

The only thing I can't seem to understand: How come those east coast dealers, Fitz and Darcars, can beat Mpls by $700 - $1000? Is the shipping different? Volume?
  • easye2easye2 Member Posts: 26
dad23, thanks for the reply. I saw that Z1 as well, however, I think it is a different package than the CF as noted by the host below. Thanks again for your help.
  • easye2easye2 Member Posts: 26
kydx, thanks for the advice. I didn't know a PIO existed or what it was. Thanks again.
  • easye2easye2 Member Posts: 26
I ended up buying from Toyota City. The internet sales woman was great. From my recent experience, you might be pushing it a bit with your goal of $26k out the door. That doesn't mean you can't try. :D It seemed that any of the dealers would match almost any of the others. My decision came down to who was the most straight up with me from the start and didn't try to pull any "fast ones" on me. The best advice I can give is to communicate to the internet sales person that you will commit to doing your business with them if they will match your offer price.

Again, you must have everything planned out ahead of time including warranty, financing before making your offer. It seems that if your offer is around holdback or below (before rebates), your chances go down significantly. The Sienna is great, especially with the 8 seating. :)
  • wandlwandl Member Posts: 40
    When I was looking, I was quoted a BZ#4 for $24,369 I'm pretty sure....just didn't match the color I was looking for.....

BUT, it may not be worth it to fly over and drive 12 hours or more to save a few hundred dollars..assuming your time is valuable...hehe...

    Good luck!

Form VSCRFD100-03/15/05 (first page of service contract agreement written by dealership and signed by myself and dealer representative) states "100% VSC Refund/Buy Back. If the VSC indicated above goes full term without a claim, PREMIER SELECT agrees to refund/buy back the VSC Purchase Price up to a maximum of $ 4000. This agreement applies only to the original purchaser as named above. Premier Dealer Services is the administrator of this agreement and has sole obligation for all elibible reimbursements. This agreement is non-transferable....".
The rest of the page contains more information on how to receive the entire purchase price "IF the eligible contract has expired by time or mileage, no claims have been paid on any of the Service Contract Benefits and a request has been made submitted to PREMIER SELECT at the address listed below within 30 days of Service Contract Expiration".

This policy provides a nice incentive for me to keep my 2006 Sienna LE for 7 years. Cost more than the DaimlerChrysler extended warranty the original owner got on my 2002 T&C LX but has ZERO deductible with full purchase price refunded if not used while DC agreement is $ 100 deductible with pro-rated refund less $ 50 fee if cancelled before 7 years expired.

How rare is the Sienna Limited model? I have searched at every dealership in Nashville over the internet and only came up with 2 Sienna Limiteds distributed amongst 5-6 Toyota dealerships.

And what are people paying for Sienna XLEs and/or Limiteds? Are they paying more than CE/LE customers, especially since the CE/LE models seem to be far more common...
  • easye2easye2 Member Posts: 26
I have not been mailed the complete details, but I do not think that I have the 100% VSC/Buy Back provision of the extended warranty you are referring to. Did that cost extra to have the provision?
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
I don't exactly know what Toyota's build mix is but they are not rare. That said, they are not really plentiful either. Supply will vary some due to location.

Percentage-wise, the discount from MSRP on them is about the same as other Siennas.
  • jchan2jchan2 Member Posts: 4,956
Ok. I remember looking at Laurel Toyota and Fitzmall and they had plenty of Limiteds.

Do you think if I went to a bigger city such as Atlanta that there might be more Limiteds available?
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
I would think so. Dealers tend to order what they believe their customers will buy. Just use Toyota's website to look around. Not every store lists their inventory but you should get a good idea of what's on the ground or, in some cases, what's incoming.
  • jchan2jchan2 Member Posts: 4,956

I'm going to buy an '06 Sienna limited AWD. I would prefer without DVD/NAV but for the right price would go for DVD/NAV. There are about 4 dealers in a 2 hour radius from my home and they all quote the same prices and don't seem willing to budge.
AWD limited WITHOUT DVD/NAV for 35,800 (msrp is 38,985, invoice is 34,761). This is before any rebate.
After reading this msg board, this sure sounds high. If the price won't come down, what extras are the easiest to get thrown in? Extended warranty? Mats, sill protectors, etc (big deal!!)?
Thanks for any advice. I'm paying cash, no trade in, no financing.
  • hampcbhampcb Member Posts: 1
We just drove up to Rockville MD to 355 Toyota (Darcars), had a pleasant experience. In and out in under 2 hours, they seemed to be doing their best to make us happy. Abdul was very helpful. We paid 25900 plus 104 in fees for an out the door of 26004 not including state tax. Retail was 30845. Seemed to be a good price to us. The car only had 2 miles on it, when we got there it was still wrapped in plastic but they still got us out in 2 hours. Well worth the drive up there.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
    My two cents:

    1) Expand your search radius - there's is ALWAYS someone who will sell for less.

    2) Don't tell them how you're paying for it, especially here - cash is not, in their eyes, a positive thing.

    3) Don't mention the lack of a trade until you get a quote.

    4) Any extras "thrown in" are usually just to close a deal (unless already installed) and not really of significant worth.

I just started looking at seinnas as a potential replacement for my wife's Honda.

I was at a dealer yesterday that had a 2005 XLE AWD w/117 miles on it. (new never titled)

They seem to be very interested in getting rid of it.

The sticker is ~36K. I can look up the invoice price but I am not sure what would be a fair price considering it is a year old for all practical purposes....

Any thoughts? I might be willing to but it if I could get a really good deal, otherwise, why would anyone but it over an '06??
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
Find out how much you can buy it for and then get a quote on a comparable '06. The price spread will tell you just how much having a year newer vehicle will cost you.

My conclusion has been that it usually doesn't make much, if any, real difference IF the spread is, say, $2000 to $3000 or more. While it is true that one is a year older, bear in mind that (depending on your annual mileage) you may get some of it back later on resale because the van will have low mileage for the year. Adding that to a lower initial cost is a winning combination for many people.

On the other hand, if the difference is small, it makes more sense to get the newer model as it will always be worth more.

After dealing with the Toyota sharks down in S. Florida, I decided to take my business elsewhere. I had a very good experience buying at fiztmall.com. Here are the details.

    1. Good price, no negotiations, no hidden prices, very nice salesperson. Sienna LE with pkg #3 - $23,700. With Florida tax (6%), Florida title, dealer fee ($99 and you can skip it if you want to do the paperwork yourself) I walked out paying $25,450. Prices vary because cars are discounted as they sit in the lot. Mine was priced just over $24,000 and by the time I bought it was marked down $300.

    2. Most of the questions and dealings were handled over the internet, phone and DHL. They mailed all the paperwork so that I could sign it because my name would be on the title and I wasn't flying up.

    3. My husband flew up on a Saturday morning for $112, took the metro to the dealership and spent 2-3 hours checking out the car and signing the paperwork. Then he fully enjoyed the 1000 mile ride home and got home Sunday 9pm.

    4. Post sales, the salesman will still answer my questions and calls.

I could never get a clear picture of the price down here because it was going to take time and much frustration to get one but I am willing to guess that I saved anywhere from $3-$5 thousand dollars by buying out of the area. One dealer down here had a sticker price on an LE with a $5,000 Market mark up. No rhyme or reason, just because they think they can.

Hope this helps anyone looking in South Florida (probably anyone in the SE distributorship).

I am hoping to buy my Sienna in the coming week and it will have a nav system. As others have pointed out, the salespeople usually don't know much about the nav system. Can anyone tell me how to check what version the nav system is? Does this refer to a dvd that contains the data?
What is the latest version? Is this the type of thing I can ask as a throw in? i.e. please get me the latest nav data and call me up when it comes in so you can install it in my new Sienna?
    Thanks for the help!

Just to be curious, but are you opting for the XLE Package 8, the XLE Limited Package 2, or the XLE Limited Package 3?
  • anhleanhle Member Posts: 19
    Hi all,
Could you tell me what dealers/care renters in Boston area sell used Sienna 2004? I asked around some but they said people still do not trade in much. I'm looking for XLE AWD leather version, with still valid waranty.
(the alternative for me is to buy new Odyssey EX-L 2006 for around 27K. But I think a used Sienna with equivalent features is much cheaper)
    Thank you in advance
  • jchan2jchan2 Member Posts: 4,956
XLE AWD Siennas with leather will typically not be bought by rental fleets- fleets prefer base CE or LE models.

Siennas are not traded in too often, so you might just have to get the Odyssey. CarMax might have a few used Siennas in their system, but if you want to be really specific you may have to wait for a while.

    1. I started with edmunds.com to research on price (invoice = 25,470).
    2. I used local dealers (Michigan) recommended by Costco and Sam’s.
    3. The posts of good deals on Siennaclub and Edmunds.com were very helpful to me.
    4. I also researched on carsdirect.com and fitzmall.com (almost lowest price, but does not have BZ package).
    5. I expanded search to include Ohio, Indiana, Chicago, and Boston. Most of my emails were answered promptly. Negotiation on email was more pleasant and less stressful than at a dealership.
    6. Boch Toyota South near Providence gave the lowest quote $22,997. When I was ready to fly over, the van was sold and the new quote for a upcoming van was $23,940. I decided it was not worth it.
    7. Three Chicago dealers were willing to sell at $24,132 - 24,232 on vans in stock. From where I live to Chicago is only 4.5 hr train ride. I was ready to go, but preferred to buy from a local dealer.
    8. Most Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana dealers would not go below $25k. This may reflect the higher cost for smaller dealerships comparing with big ones in large cities, plus the lower rebate in Michigan/Ohio region ($650 vs. $750 in Chicago).
    9. Sunshine Toyota at Battle Creek offered $24,750, and then reduced to $24,500 when the general manager was involved. Their reps at Internet sales department were very helpful, yet not pushy. Even though it was higher than $24,132, I decided to take it to save the hassle of traveling to Chicago. If the weather was nice, I might bring my family to Chicago to get it. But it is still winter now at Michigan. The OTD price is $26,173.

On a related issue, most dealers gave me KBB trade-in value (~$4000) for my old minivan in excellent condition. One local Honda dealer gave me $3000 for the trade-in and suggested that I should sell it at $2-3000 under the private party value. I had to laugh at it and did not want to deal with this dealer any more. I sold my van at $6900 ($500 under KBB) one week after I advertised it. I had five people wanting to see the van.

Nice to hear that you had a good experience at fitzmall. We are thinking about buying a new van there to save a around three thousand dollars. If you felt your salesman did a good job I would appreciate it if you could please post his name so I could contact him if we do decide to buy there. Thanks so much!

You may include the dealership name, city and state in your post. Please do not post names of salespeople, telephone numbers, email addresses, or other contact information.

Thank you. Is CarMax an online, or real dealer?
  • jchan2jchan2 Member Posts: 4,956
CarMax has branches all over the United States and you can get any car transferred to your local CarMax.

Say you live in Boston, and you went to your local CarMax. You didn't see any Siennas, but the salesperson looked in the entire CarMax inventory all over the nation and found 3 Siennas that match your criteria. You can have them transferred into your local CarMax for a fee between $300-$1000 depending on distance.

Their website, link title has an inventory search tool so you can search the entire nation's inventory.

    Hi everyone

Just want to validate that I have the right price offer.

Here is the best offer I have soo far.

Toyota Sienna LE PKG 1. Colour Silver. 7 seater.

$23,268(Includes destination charge, floor mats and cargo net-Includes all rebates)This price does not iclude taxes.

I have to thank this forum for invaluable insight.

Please do let me know what you all think about this deal.

Also does Toyota recommend rust proofing and scotchguarding the interior.Any opinions?I don't want to waste my money on something which is not at all required.

    Thanks

Bought a XLE Limited yesterday. Salsa Red Pearl, came with the useless dealer add-ons that come with all Toyotas in Texas, the Extra Mile Package etc. The sticker on the car was 37,750..paid 33K + TTL. Got Kelley Blue Book value for the 2000 Sienna we traded in.
All communication was done via email. A very pleasant experience overall (never thought I would ever say that about a car purchase).
  • jchan2jchan2 Member Posts: 4,956
I don't know if Toyota recommends it, but I've never put those things on my cars in the past and I've come out fine.

If you insist on rustproofing and scotchguard I wouldn't get it done at the dealership.

Greetings and thank you for taking time to read my post. Please analyze this offer:

    06 Sienna LE base model
    sticker = $ 25,949
    negotiated price = $ 24,300
    36 months/12k miles
    1st month + plates = $ 516.00
No security deposit (already a leasee from Toyota
    monthly payments = $ 371.00

Also, I have 3 payments left on a 03 Highlander @ $ 330.00/month. I am told that this figure is rolled into the above price. I was also quoted a "trade-in" on this vehicle at $ 17,000. 03 Highlander has 23k miles and is in excellent condition.

    Thank you for your response(s).
  • satchrianisatchriani Member Posts: 2
We just leased an LE 8 passenger with package 2 and floor mats for $1000 down and $350/month (includes tax), no trade. 12k a year and 36 months.

This was through Costco done at Hamer Toyota. EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! Wonderful service, friendly staff. Would definitely return again.
  • jchan2jchan2 Member Posts: 4,956
I wouldn't recommend rolling over the loan from the Highlander into the Sienna lease. To keep things simple, I would wait 3 months, sell my Highlander to CarMax, and use the cash as a downpayment on the Sienna.

Doing the transaction that way keeps it far more simpler and gives the dealership less chances to confuse you.

Hi. I am in the market for an Odyssey or a Sienna and I am leaning towards a Sienna XLE LTD FWD due the pax tire issues with the Honda. My purchase time is somewhat flexible. I intend to keep the van for a while and buying a 2006 makes sense unless there are some serious upgrades on the 2007 (unlikely). I was wondering what is typically the best time to get good deals on the 2006 models.

July/Aug or do I have to go to Sep/Oct?

    Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
Depending on where you are located (i.e., where prices are favorable), time of year may make no difference whatsoever (except that you may have little to chose from). In your situation, really, start shopping hard in July and when you find a good price on a vehicle you like, take it.

Inasmuch as Toyota did some upgrades on Sienna for '06, the '07 model should be virtually unchanged.

Thanks for the feedback. I suspect they will upgrade it to the 3.5L engine - even camry has it now and it will appear more competitive with the Ody.

Would you mind sharing the name of the dealership you bought from? I live in Houston and the dealerships I have dealt with so far have been unwilling to do anything more than write a price on the back of a business card.
  • kyunyookyunyoo Member Posts: 10
Thinking about getting 06 Brand new Sienna, I was advised many different routes of purchasing the car. In the order of advertised price (cheapest first), those are,

    1. Fitzmall
    2. Carmax
    3. Costco (?),
    4. Local dealer...

I can happily opt with minimum option CE 7 or 8 passenger. Then I found that Fitzmall is by far way better than any other options as it is offering even close to 21k (only for car). Even if I include doc fee of 99, it is still in 21k range... Discourating is it is too far away from my location (Fitzmall is in Washington area, while I am in Detroit MI area...)

I can take a day off from my work and fly to there on Friday and drive the car for 5~600 miles back to my home town however,...

I personally think that if I can get it at around 22k range including all doc fees and hidden fees (at 1k more than Fitzmall price), I would find it from locally. But local dealers in my area, all charge those interesting fees and fees and fees (advertisement fee etc). they even charge something like dealer loan fee even if somebody (my buddy) made a one time payment for his 05 Sienna early last year... As a result, his 05 CE 7 Passenger OTD price became 25k.... they advertised they can sell it at in-voice then, they made up for them by charging those interesting this and that fees.... This is actually one of the significant factor that Toyota dealer pushes me away toward honda dealer. When I bought my 3 honda/acura's, the deal was much simpler and easy, no hidden fees or advertisement fee things, just car price + 6% tax + title + $99 doc fee (which I consider is just a tip for the dealer ^^;), the figure of which are all provided before even visiting the dealer shop by phone or email.

This time, I will try Toyota Sienna, if anyone can get me more advise regarding

    1. Costco program experience
    2. Fitmall experience for out-of-state buyer
    3. any good local dealer in South Michigan area
    4. Any alternative better way of purchasing brand new sienna....

    Thank you in advance.

Whether here or elsewhere, I've yet to see anybody (including out of state buyers) claim to have had a bad experience with Fitzgerald.

Best thing to do here is to directly shop their price against your local stores. Given that their prices are posted on their website (at least the last time I looked), it should be clear to your local dealers that you're not blowing smoke when you ask for a competitive price.
